I was so tempted to try their tamales but went with #3 combination-- tostada, 2 tacos, rice and beans. The beef in the tostada was tender and generous. Same for the chicken in the tacos. Everything tasted fresh. I also tried the birria consommé and it was fabulous. I'll go for the quesabirria next time. Friendly owner and the food came out quickly. He was the only one working on a late Friday afternoon so it likely takes longer at busier times. The price for my lunch plus tip was $15 (no drink). Great stop for a quick street taco. Stopped in today, since I was in Autozone and lunch time was nigh. Two adobada and one pastor taco were ordered. Review #24 for 2020. Great food! Taco Veloz is located in the parking lot of Standard Restaurant Supply along Fairview. Service is very nice and quick with no issues. Ordered two tacos al pastor and a carne asada super burrito, and everything tasted great. Salsa was good too! There's covered open seating, but I chose to just stand to wait for my order and took my food home to eat. Checked this place out because some friends recommended it. I'd definitely go back since the food is good, service is nice, and prices are reasonable. Can't ask for more! Happy to support a small business! read more

Taco Veloz is a taco truck located right along bustling Fairview Ave. situated in the parking lot adjacent to A1Games & Pawn. They are in a prime location for a ton of drive-by traffic and even have a nice tented area with tables for dining on site. I do so love a good taco truck. That said, I didn't actually order tacos as the allure of melted cheese proved irresistible --and so, a chicken quesadilla was my order of the day. And, it was a solid quesadilla--not outstanding, lacking a bit of flavor, but overall a satisfying choice. My dining companion ordered their Carne Asada which was also reportedly good but not great. The service was top notch (the owner/chef had never heard of Yelp so we had a good time showing him all the glowing reviews that directed us here--and he seemed delighted to see them). I think, overall, given that most of the reviews center on their tacos--I need to come back and actually try their tacos. This leaves me to ponder whether or not this is sort of an instance where an unspoken rule (that shall now be spoken...or at least, written) is in order: When one dines at a taco truck--order the tacos. We'll see as I plan to go back and do just that--until then, 3 stars it is. read more

Great taco wagon soon morphing into a brick-and-mortar home. Taco Veloz is currently remodeling the former Los Beto's location (or, if you go way back, the Kentucky Fried Chicken) just down the road across the street from KTVB. I'm looking forward to the decidedly better meals that will soon be coming out of that building. Los Beto's was OK, but nothing special and their employees were almost surly. Great tacos!! This taco truck is on Fairview, ive always wondered if it was a legit place for tacos, after reading some reviews on yelp I had to check it out myself. I ended up getting tacos the first time, double tortillas, just the way they should be, tasty meat, from asada to lengua to carnitas, all very tasty. This may be weird, but to me the refried beans, if you get the number 1 meal you get sides of bean and rice, were the STAR of my meal, they tasted so freaking good!! Second time i had their burrito, wasnt bad, but i felt like the meat ratio was lacking. This spot has been a current stop for me since i first ate there. Being a California transplant I've had some phenomenal traditional Mexican food and as a result have naturally developed some pretty particular taste buds when it comes to Mexican. I was out and about running errands and I suddenly became hangry. Yes- HANGRY. For some unknown reason I found myself suddenly craving Mexican and nothing else would do. A quick Yelp search and I found this gem. Quick, easy, affordable and damn was it delicious. I'm a true sucker for a good street taco, the slightly greasy kind (because let's be real, this is not a grease-free or calorie friendly meal either way) with the crispy bits of steak and simple toppings of onions, cilantro and lime.....extra lime for me. 5 of these small but seriously delicious tacos had me smiling for the rest of the day. Now if only I could get them to move closer to my side of town....although that may not be the best thing for me or my hips. read more

This is one of my favorite taco places, so I'm so glad to see from other reviews that it hasn't gone out of business, but is just moving to a brick-and-mortar store! My favorites at the truck were the tacos adobada. I like their lengua tacos, too, but in my opinion they're not quite so good as the ones at Tacos El Rey. Their non-taco choices are also good, but as their name indicates, if you're looking for super-fast food, order the tacos. The other items take a lot longer to come out. (Of course, that may soon change with their move to an actual building.) I'd also like to point out that they there is a second Taco Veloz (Primos) located in the parking lot of the Whitney church on Overland . . . and it's pretty good, too! read more

It's rare that I find a place worthy of a good review but tacos veloz is more than worthy. I had the #1 with 2 asada and 3 pastor and surprisingly I liked the asada more... The pastor was a little too sweet imo. I just moved here from LA and finding even decent Mexican food here is nearly impossible, so I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled across this place. I love this taco truck and continued to eat there even after the relocation of Los Betos.It seems the owner of the lot under which it has been parked for many years was looking to increase revenue from the land which resulted in the parking spaces being filled with used cars for sale.Then the large shade tree which the truck was parked was unceremoniously removed. If this truck shows up in your neighborhood, get the 5 taco combo with rice and beans.Comes with rice and beans and a soda in a can for 9 bucks. Their lingua tacos are also good.
