There are two Taco Trees in Auburn, CA. It's Auburn's local franchise equivalent to TB. But in my humble opinion, it's much better than most of the TBs that I've been to. Consistent service, good eats at cheap prices. The ground beef tacos are my favorite. The ground beef is simply seasoned and not saucy wet nor greasy. The tacos are stuffed with meat, shredded iceberg lettuce, and grated cheese in a crunchy taco shell. The meat ratio is not skimpy. The ground beef taco is around $3.They also sell bun tacos; it's a signature Taco Tree item. It's basically ground beef served with shredded lettuce in a hamburger bun. Reminds me of a mid-west loose meat sandwich. On my last visit, the drive thru order taker/cashier incorrectly rang up my order of beef tacos as burritos. When I got my bag in f food I took a peek before driving off. I saw two skinny long wrappers... burritos not tacos. After pointing this out at the pickup window, the staff called over a manager without me asking. I was refunded the overcharge and waited just a few more minutes to get a fresh made order. They were quick to remedy the error. No haggling. Awesome customer service. Regarding the ambiance. The interior gives off early 2000s vibes. Not old but not new either. Oh, man! I LOVE Mexican food and I especially love West Coast tex mex! I judge all places like this off their bean and cheese burritos. They did not let me down! We have passed this place for a couple of years now when we come to visit the in-laws and had never stopped in. FINALLY made a stop, my only regret is we didn't come in sooner! The servings are ample, the selection is great, pricing is awesome! We had good service. We did not dine in but there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors if you want to dine in. We just arrived to the area with a bunch of starving kids. Everything was closed except for this place. Didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Menu is simple, choose your meat options and whether or not you want it PLUS or SUPER which is just like a supreme where they add extras like sour cream and tomatoes. We got pretty much everything with the extras. We did notice everything was a little pricier than your typical fast food taco joint, however they stuff whatever you're getting like crazy! I was pretty impressed with how packed each item was from taco to tostada to burrito, they did a fantastic job. Taste was good. Their sauce was decent. It's a fast food taco joint so similar to the likes of taco bell and del taco. Employees were super friendly. We enjoyed our meal and kids were happy so we were happy. Anyone from the south bay area (within Santa Clara or Alameda Counties) knows about Taco Bravo. Taco Bravo Campbell holds a special place in my heart. The ingredients FRESH. The service CONSISTENT. The place had character and the price was right. Taco Tree brings out the best of Taco Bravo sans the late night party crew. Taco Tree embellishs the Taco Bravo experience by adding a functional and clean indoor dining area and much more hospitable facilities. Haha. The cashier guided me right. A super nacho (has ground beef) order was plenty for me. I do hope that next time I come with someone so I can share the super nachos and order a taco and add black olives because that's the epitome of the Taco Bravo experience, for me. I'll share that the strawberry shake was ok. Reasonable price. But, next time I'll go for a corn syrup. I mean, soda. I really wish they had horchata here. That'd be awesome. The salsa packets were handy and tasty enough. I had to laugh because there's a mild salsa basket and a hot salsa basket but they were all the same. Ha! We stopped for a late lunch. Got a chicken taco, beef taco and beef and bean burrito. All were very good. Someone commented that they are a whitewashed Taco Bell. That made us laugh. A bit of an oxymoron. They are definitely Taco Bell like. I'd say they are a tad better. My tacos were full of fresh lettuce and tomatoes and meat. My daughter loved that they had real cheese in the burrito unlike Taco Bell. All in all fast, friendly and hit the spot. read more

My husband and I stopped in on a whim after a camp trip up the hill. We shared the nachos, he had a taco, and I had a bean burrito. Everything was made to order and it reminded me of Taco Bell or Del Taco of yesteryear. The bean burrito has beans, cheese, crunch diced onions, and red sauce. Ok... where is the quality control? Hubby and I love Taco Tree but it's hit or miss. This morning it was a tortilla with a spoonful of beans and one onion. Other times it's a bean burrito with enchilada sauce. Sometimes there is a bit of cheese at the very bottom, sometimes it's a good batch with the perfect amount of beans, onion and cheese. This place is a trip. Definitely wouldn't call it Mexican even though the staff is representing fully Mexican. It's like a whitewashed Taco Bell, which isn't bad! Just saying, don't expect a legitimate authentic taco or Mexican food if you come here. The menu is somewhat limited in that they only have two meat options: ground beef and chicken. I got two ground beef tacos and the super nachos. The nachos were awesome. I love these kind of nachos. They included beans, ground beef, tomatoes, sour cream, green onions, black olives, and some salsa. These nachos are simple, but great tasting. Same goes for the tacos: simple, but great tasting. The tacos had cheese, lettuce, ground beef, and sour cream. That's it. So, overall, this place isn't going to bash you over the head with flavor. In fact, the flavor is pretty minimal. But, I do have an appreciation for minimal flavors that deliver some consistent good food. Taco Tree is a revelation! It's definitely not the fanciest, most modern, or trendiest place... but it does serve up FRESH and AFFORDABLE fast food that is extremely tasty! Actually, the first time I came was just because I thought the name was funny. And I'm glad I did that fateful day! Taco Tree is a fast food restaurant that looks like it came out of the 80's. There really isn't any of that modern decor that you see. It's full of walnut browns and the seating is just... well.. older! There's nothing fancy about it, but the place is kept clean. Taco Tree offers up tacos, burritos, nachos, and other fast food style Mexican items. What I love about the food is that it has a very fresh taste. The tacos in particular are LOADED with crisp lettuce, juicy cut tomatoes, and a generous amount of shredded cheese. The taste is what Mexican fast food SHOULD be! The service is always friendly at Taco Tree and I have never had any issues eating there. I really just wish it was closer to where I am! I've been eating at Taco Tree since I started a new job in Auburn about a year and a half ago. When I first started eating here all of my coworkers would asked how I liked Taco Tree after returning to work and I couldn't understand how they knew where I had eaten that day! The styrofoam cup! Their is something oddly nostalgic about drinking out of stryofoam from a fast food restaurant that takes me back to my childhood. Ok, enough of the trip down memory lane. Not to break the rules of the taco world...but, Taco Tree reminds me of Taco Bell of 30 years ago. I generally order a taco salad with beef or chicken and it is very good for a fast meal. Additionally, I have had burritos, tacos, super nachos and even a chocolate shake here. The food has all been good, the location always clean, and the service fast and friendly. If I was to stretch to come up with a complaint, it would have to be the parking lot. The location is always busy and it can be difficult at times to maneuver in and out. read more

This food is always delicious. I have gotten a few different things but the one that is my top is the super nachos with jalepenos. I usually would get an enchilada because those are super delicious too. My husband enjoys the vegetarian burrito and chicken burrito. My daughter absolutely loves the chicken burritos here. Gone Downhill! Prices went up, quality and product went way down. Taco shells on salad are not even cooked. No beans to be found and if you ask for anything extra, it's like pulling teeth.
