The server who wanted to be elsewhere doing something else just threw the food on the table then stomped off in a huff. Now the bad: The place is a dump. It's a dive. Not clean. Dining room is cramped. Furniture is uncomfortable crap. There are telephone, electrical, security camera wires dangling from walls and ceilings. The place looks like it was last painted in the early 1970's. I took a peek into the kitchen and storage area and wished that I didn't. It's awful. Looks like a hoarder's storeroom. I tried to use the restroom. The toilet was clogged, water running over the top of the bowl. I don't know the last health department inspection grade, if an inspection has ever occurred. Really, I've eaten at 100's of sketchy cheap eats dives in dozens of developing countries, this place is worse than most of those. Despite the yummy food I don't think I'd return. My spouse and her sister also loved their food but were disappointed with the room.

My husband loves to find good, local seafood places, but with their small menu, I opted to try another place first, but they didn't have reservations. So I called and Omakase fit us in and I couldn't be happier! Everything was very on point, from the atmosphere, to the service to the food! And their name, couldn't have been more perfect. If you like to base your dinner of chef suggestions, highly recommend. I love trying new things and didn't even ask what was on the menu, just went for it, along with the wine pairing. Everything was so very fresh and creative. We got seated at the bar which was pretty enjoyable as well because you got to experience how they "cooked" and prepared everything. All the chefs behind the bar and around it were all very knowledgeable in the food list, the wine list and pairings, and all so very hospitable. I got the Omakase course meal. My husband got the dozen oysters, the Omakse set oysters and one of the caviars. We just about shared everything. The chefs really know their stuff, so trusting the menu and what they have prepared is very worthwhile! And the caviar, holy cow, I didn't know how much I loved caviar before now. However, I think a huge part of that is what they served with it. Everything was extremely delicious and we can't wait to go back!!

The server was great, nice and friendly and the food was amazing! I ordered their Oaxacan Style Ceviche and it was so good! It came out in a molcajete style plate, and it looked small, however it wasn't, the portion was generous! Our family member ordered the pozole and they shared it was also delicious. Fish tacos so goooood! [Rocklin CA]…read more So happy that my friend, Belinda, suggested this place when I mentioned that I was craving fish tacos. I ordered from their Mezcalito Specials menu (green) and chose the Baja Fish Tacos ($18). I like the part that it came with rice and black beans. It included two fish tacos. Since I couldn't decide between grilled or fried I got one of each. The fish were beer battered with cabbage, mango, pico, avocado | opted out of the cilantro and onion | Chipotle Aioli on the side just in case I found it too spicy for my taste. It turned out that it added to wonderful flavors on the tacos. Unfortunately, the chips and salsa was not complimentary. Purchase separately. The servers were friendly and welcoming and it made for a pleasant first time experience! There are two dining sections so don't fret when you see the dining area full as you enter the restaurant. There is also a picnic bench under covered roof outside patio dining. You won't be disappointed! No wonder they are at almost perfect 5-stars in Yelp. Instagram: @mezcalitorocklin Review #4055

Having tried a number of burritos from nearly every Taqueria from here to Roseville I've landed on this place having the best. I don't say it lightly as most are very middle of the road. The meat was especially tender and delicious and packed full in the tortilla. I order online and for pickup. It's always on time, still fresh and warm from the short ride home, and wrapped perfectly for transporting it. The place is simple and basic, not overly decorated, but it's clean and service is friendly. It's the delicious burrito that makes it extra good.
