My husband and I eat here at least once a week and everything is delicious and a good value for the price. I particularly love the quesobirria and fish tacos and anything with their chile verde sauce. Whenever we have friends or family visiting from out of town, we inevitably bring them here, and its not uncommon for them to want to go back the next day. The service is always friendly, and the owners are clearly oriented towards supporting the community. It's a small restaurant with an appropriately small staff. An interesting yet short menu. The blue corn specialty tacos were what intrigued me, so I paid a little bit more for the experience. There are four kinds of fillings for their specialty tacos: ribeye steak, steak and shrimp, shrimp only, and lastly, vegetable. Since there were two of us, I was feeling extra bold and ordered one of each for the fun of it. Turns out, they were on the smaller side, so I was glad I did. Each one was delicious is its own special way. The meats were nicely marinated then expertly cooked on a griddle top. This gave a superb, smokey bbq flavor to each. The finishing touch consisted of a sweet and savory mango salsa topping that paired beautifully with each meat combination. The fresh grilled vegetables in the vegetarian taco was just as good. I was surprised; I didn't miss the meat at all. I did have issue with the blue corn tortilla itself. It was very thick and heavy and did not hold up well with the moist fillings. Any attempt to pick it up in one piece was futile. I mostly ate my tacos with a fork, and ate very little of the tortilla. Needs some work, but has potential. Went here a few times this week and had mixed feelings about Taco Town. The first experience was memorable as my order was correct, tacos had plenty of meat and limes were given on the side. I also ordered a blue corn Al Pastor taco ($6.00 each) and the tortilla fell completely apart, when eating, and the Al Pastor was very salty. The asada tacos were excellent. Second time, I went on Taco Tuesday and was excited about the $1.49 tacos (chicken, Al Pastor or carnitas). Instead of the carnitas that I ordered, they gave me chicken. My receipt was correct but not the taco meat. Also, these were extremely lacking the meat that I had experienced a few days prior. Same size tortilla (street taco size tortillas) but since they were $1.50 cheaper it seemed like they took out half the meat and now were packaged like mini rolled taquitos. The two tacos that are not rolled (in the picture) are asada, not on the Taco Tuesday special and are regular price. I enjoyed the asada meat the best and they have a few salsas to choose from. Regular price, street-size tacos, are $3.50 and seem a bit steep for palm-sized tacos. read more

If you can find parking, this is a fun little place to visit. We came around 11am on a Saturday and the parking lot was packed! We had to drive around for a bit through the narrow lots trying to find a spot. I think it's because there are so many places to check out, in which case the parking lot should've been made bigger to accommodate all the people they would draw. Anyway, the restaurant itself is tiny, but as soon as you step inside the bright colors and Spanish music welcome you in. It's all very vibrant, and whoever decorated the place tried to pack in as much culture and playfulness as they could in such a small space. There are colorful cutout hanging pieces of paper, different colored chairs, there's a corner of the wall full of plants and flowers with a neon sign that says "I love tacos". When the food came out, it was equally colorful and tasted good. I was happy that they had a veggie taco option. I asked the cashier how many I should get and he said "They're pretty big, so 2 is good. 3 if you're really hungry." I asked for 3 so that I could have leftovers to take home. The cashier was patient and good at multitasking. I also asked if we could taste test the different agua frescas and he was very accommodating. There's a trash can by the door where you can also put the trays. I had barely put mine down, but the next time I went to throw something else away, I noticed the tray was already gone. I saw the waiter bring food out to people on the patio, so he must have grabbed my tray on his way back in. So compliments to the cashier's hustle and efficiency. One downside is that the only restroom they have is for employees only, so instead they have 2 big bottles of hand sanitizer for customers to use. After picking up a taco and having it fall apart in my hands, having an actual sink to wash up at would've been so much better. We were also given chips with 2 different dips, but no napkins. When the food came, we were finally given a bunch of napkins, but there was only 1 knife and 1 fork for 2 people. I don't know if they're trying to save money on toilet paper, paper towels, and utensils, but cutting corners on little things like that are inconvenient for customers and highly noticeable. Had a hankering for some Mexican food and remembered seeing this place a few weeks ago, so I decided to swing by. It is a quaint place with seating that accommodates about 20, so it may be tough to find seating if you come by at a lunch rush. You order at the counter and just wait for your number to be called. There are no fountain drinks, just canned and bottled beverages, which is okay because they have Jarritos and Mexican Coke. Now to the food, we got a carne asada burrito and the 3 taco combo. The food was great and the portions even greater. I am a big eater (which you can tell by the amount of buffet check ins and reviews I have on here), but I barely finished the burrito and French fries. I'm lying, I didn't finish the fries. The staff was very friendly and though it took a little bit to get our food (lunch rush), it was worth the wait. My sister and I decided to have brunch a few Friday's ago. We ended up here and I encouraged her to get the chilaquilas. It was her first time trying it out altogether so it was a bit exciting. She definitely enjoyed her experience. Unfortunately, however, the chips in the chilaquilas were doggy due to them being doused on the red sauce. The birria here is way better than the one at Tacos El Guero 3 down the street. They actually clean it very well here! Customer service is way better here as well. I have been here three times. Each time the service has been outstanding. The employees behind the counter are always very friendly and accommodating. It's kind of like a local's place. The dining area is very limited and it's just a couple of tables and a long bar light. So if they were extremely busy, and there was more than yourself, you might have a difficulty finding a place to eat. But that's a small price to pay for the outstanding food that you get. Each time I've been there the food is tremendous. It's always served hot. The portions are large and it taste great. I always get one of the different burritos. The ingredients are fresh. They don't skimp on the meat and it's a good value for the money. The parking can be a little bit of a challenge also. Tried tons of tacos and burritos out in the IE from fancy restaurants to simple taco trucks and so far this is the best place I have found. The service provided is always professional and friendly. Soooooo bummed out tonight. You can tell something has definitely changed. We placed an order for pick up, as usual. My husband picked up the food, we sit down to eat and we instantly looked at each other... I asked him, is your food ok? He said.. it's not the same.. and I said the same thing.. Almost tastes like someone else is in the kitchen and not the original owners. The execution of the food and its components have completely changed. Down to the packing of the food. My husband always gets the Norco Cali fries with Al pastor. There was big slices of Al pastor this time instead of chopped up and evenly distributed throughout the $18 plate. The cook is different on the meat, it's more chewy and definitely not tender or flavorful like it used to be. I ordered the Al pastor burrito and as usual I ask for Limes, radish, and salsas on the side. Well tonight they decided to put that stuff inside the container with my burrito, so once I opened my container the water from the radish had made my burrito soggy and the limes were warm from being on top of my burrito. I also had the same issue with the Al pastor being chewy and in large sliced pieces. The burrito was also not proportioned the way it used to be. It was definitely smaller, less meat, some rice, and a lot of beans. Not worth $15 like before. Our salsas on the side, which I raved about before were also congealed.. didn't taste the same. Lacked flavor and consistency. Check out the video. Not pourable at all. I had recently raved about this place to my friend who was visiting from LA and when Grubhub delivered her order, it was mediocre and she was given the wrong meat. She didn't bother to call to complain since she was just visiting anyway, but I was embarrassed that I recommended Taco Town USA and it was far from what we had before. Unfortunately, they've made changes for the worst. Whoever is in that kitchen now really needs to get re-evaluated, replaced, re-trained, or supervised better before they kill the business for this family. I'm sorry, but for the price..the food and experience was horrible tonight. Looks like we're going to stay regulars at our regular Mexican spot in Riverside. read more
