They've got tented, lighted seating, plenty of fresh salsa and agua frescas, and some hard-hitting, flavor-packed street tacos. My friend and I ordered 8 tacos -- 2 cabeza, 2 adobada, 2 birria, and 2 carne asada. Everything was really tasty and well-prepared. The cabeza and birria were the highlights, both offering such succulent, well-stewed meats. One of my go-to food trucks in Linda Vista when it's a little late. Got the big burrito and adobada mulitas. The flavors of the carne asada was so good! Perfectly cooked and quite the cheesiness I didn't expect in the burrito... I loved it. The mulitas was just right and hasn't missed for me... one of my go-to orders. Love that the sauces are always accessible and freshly refilled. I always tell myself to try something else but I end up getting the same thing. Terrible! I don't know if we got a bad scoop or this is what they do, but their carnitas is the worst we've ever had. Our mulitas were probably 60-70% large unrendered fat chunks. I know carnitas isn't lean, but this was just massive chunks of not even crispy fat...just slimy, flavorless blobs with pretty much no meat inside. Even if the meat wasn't terrible, the tortillas were soggy and their salsas were pretty bland. This was a waste of time and money. read more

I am hesitating to write this review because I want to gatekeep this place. However, that isn't the nicest thing to do, so here I am. Ambiance: 3/5 - I mean, I don't care. It smells like good meat, and there's enough tables to accommodate everyone there. - It is outside, so please wear a jacket if you plan on going late night. Food: 5/5 - Adobada tacos here are better than tacos el gordo. Fight me. - Birria tacos were alright, but still hit the spot. The meat was a bit drier than the pork, so I'll probably stick with the adobada moving forward. Worth a try though for the generous consumme pour. Price: 5/5 -$2 a taco, all the time. Need I say more? Didn't think so. Service: 4/5 - The people who run this place are pretty no-nonsense in the name of efficiency, and I can get behind that. Why hasn't anyone told me about Taco time until today! Wow what a hidden gem food truck! I'm A huge fan of authentic Mexican food and I have found very authentic Mexican food here. Their street tacos are out of this world. The meat is seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The corn tortillas are homemade, fresh and also cooked perfectly. They have a great salsa bar. I love their mango salsa. I've never had that anywhere else. Their avocado salsa is the bomb too. I cannot tell you how excited I am about this food truck. I no longer need to cross the border for authentic Mexican food. I can have it here in San Diego. read more

Good tacos. Not the best I've had but definitely not the worst. Good tortillas. Decent meat in terms of quality of the meat. Good, tasty salsa options. We had a carne asada mulita and tacos al pastor. Reasonable prices. I really like the outdoor seating. It reminds me of Mexico. The things I wish were better: 1-very limited drink options (bottled water, Coke, Fanta, and Squirt). Our food would have been perfect with some Agua de Limón or Agua de Jamaica. 2-this may be just me, but I don't like when the onion and cilantro aren't chopped nice. The raw onions were chunks instead of diced and the cilantro was like whole leaves 3-service was ok. Not friendly at all but not rude either Nonetheless, that won't keep me away. Definitely one of my favorite taco places in SD. They are great for a late night craving if you are familiar with the Linda Vista neighborhood. They are open 6pm-12am daily, sometimes as late as 1am on the weekend for about $2 each. They also have tortas and burritos with a full salsa bar. Their best tacos are the cabeza, which are hard to find sometimes in SD. Taco truck can be hard to find at first. They are usually always on Comstock St. and Kelly St. In front of a vacant parking lot. Definitely a must try if you are in the area! read more

They had the following taco meats listed from my favorite to least favorite: -Tripas (Intestines) -Carne Asada -Caveza -Adobada -Chorizo -Pollo (Chicken) Tripas had just the right amount of crunch and they were very flavorful. Got a asada quesadilla as well and that was really good. If you get a taco "con todo" (with everything) it includes onion and cilantro. They have some limes, salsa, and other toppings you can add on your own. One of the two green salsas was bomb, red salsa was okay. Came on a Tuesday night and wasn't very busy. Food came out quick after ordering. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend giving it a try. read more

This place is phenomenal and my favorite taco spot in the city. I came across the truck randomly not long after I moved to SD and was immediately hooked. The chicken tacos and carne asada tacos are my favorite, but all of them really are delicious. This place has the best street tacos in SD if you ask me. The service is always super friendly and they stay open pretty late into the evening. Like, I've seen the truck on the street at close to midnight at times when I've gone in the area with a craving. Whenever one of my sisters comes down to visit me, she always makes a point for me to bring her to Taco Time. The quesadillas are pretty damn good too and whoever makes their salsa verde sauce should be commended because it's easily the best salsa I've ever had. read more

Wow I hate to do this but it's for the safety of my yelpers. I went by last night craving the adobada tacos. We also ordered 3 asada tacos. Well we received my adobada which were fine and tasty BUT the asada, I got whiff of meat gone bad. I really was hoping it was something in the air. Got in my vehicle and the meat smell was horrific! The meat smelled bad. We went back to tell the men (we hadn't fixed the tacos yet they were untouched) and he was more upset that we were returning them than concern for possible health violations. Be cautious is all I have to say. I hope the owner reads this, I had the pleasure of meeting her back when she started this taco truck and had never had a problem until now. Pretty good taco truck! I got a chicken taco and a chicken mulita. The chicken is soooo good. I liked the mulita more than the taco, but the tacos aren't bad. 4.5 stars! Wow! I'd always driven by this little taco truck when going down Linda Vista Rd. It just looks like a standard little truck but most of the time when I'm picking up Mexican food, I like to call and order ahead so I'm not standing there waiting, but I decided to try it out with a friend and I'm so glad I did! I'd been going to several other taco shops in the area whenever a burrito/taco craving would hit but this place has blown them out of the water! Woo! The Carne Asada here is seasoned so well, and is cooked perfectly. So soft and tender AND juicy. It doesn't come out dry like other places and maybe they put some type of juice or salsa on top of it but it works perfectly. The tacos are the perfect definition of street tacos. They don't skimp on anything here. They have a salsa bar on the side of the truck with four different salsa, as well as a thing of jalapenos, grilled onions and pickled onions with baggies and cups to fill up with as much as you want. I'm big on salsa so I love that I can take as much as I want :p Prices are great as well! a big, delicious burrito with everything is only $6, and tacos are $1.50. I've also ordered the Torta (which was sooo good) but I don't remember the price for that. However, the menu prices on stuff would make you think you're buying all these in the 90's hahahaha. The lady taking orders at the window is extremely pleasant and is always smiling. I'm sure it's her business and she's happy to have it, which is great. It makes me happy they're doing a good job and keep me coming back. I'm genuinely excited I've discovered such a great little place haha :) My ONLY complaints are that they don't have refried beans or chips here. I have to end up going somewhere before or after to get some chips. The truck also runs on a generator which is pretty loud, and causes you to raise your voice while ordering and talking to people there. No big deal though because at the cost of having one of the best street tacos/burritos in SD right down the street from me, I'll take it! read more
