I've been to this Panda Express twice in the last month and one worker who's stood out to me is the one worker who works cashier named Kay. I came once in the afternoon and once near closing time and her customer service was the same both times. She's always nice and calm even in the midst of busy times during the times I've gone. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves because she truly is great at her customer service. Huge shoutout to her and the stars go to her. Only reason I deducted stars is because the one lady who's serving the platters was pretty rude and trying to squeeze as many people in the line to get started on their plates. I had a devastating evening... There I was, sitting in the fashion valley mall food court, excited to dig into my treat from panda express. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, glazed with mouthwatering sweet and sour sauce. A set of three, scallions and cream cheese-filled ragoons. I ripped open a packet, smothered the first Rangoon, and bit right through an air-filled ball of crust. Containing no cream cheese or scallions, the deceiving snack instead contained several molecules of air with a taste reminiscent of fryer oil. It was this disappointment that led me to reach for the second Rangoon, but I immediately assessed its weight, and came to a shocking discovery: the second ragoon contained no cream cheese filling. A pattern emerged, and so did my thirst for simply one bite of a Rangoon that actually contained filling. The third ragoon was the last straw; it felt hopeless. I do not recommend this panda express location at all!! The customer service is horrible at this place to the max. I never knew they charge extra for shrimp but I was okay with it because It tastes pretty good and 1.25 isn't bad in my opinion BUT after I knew they charged me extra I've been watching how much they put and when I tell you they only put 4 FOUR pieces and then have the nerve to roll their eyes at me after I ask them to put more, if I'm paying extra I want it to actually be a reasonable amount. I don't know if they have new workers in the back but the noodles has lost a lot of flavour, it's almost like eating pain noodles. They don't explain the menu to you, and when I ordered a shrimp dish that cost an extra $1.25, they served me the meal without explaining the extra charge. When I complained, I got nasty, rude backtalk. There's no excuse for that kind of treatment of their customers. The prices should be easier to understand. Otherwise, they should explain everything up front if I order a dish that cost extra. I think that's only reasonable. I miss the Camino de la Rena location. The food was good and there was always variety. I have never experienced a bad Panda until today. I walked in and wasn't surprised about the lack of options since we were there 20 minutes before close. I was surprised about the dry clumps of fried rice and burnt chow mein noodles. I thought the service was off my son was having trouble making up his mind I admit that but there wasn't a line or any reason to stare blankly into space to the point where another server had to finish serving us. I came to Panda Express at the Fashion Valley food court for dinner. I was craving food from here. It's fast food Chinese but tastes good when you are on a budget and hungry. As I walked in, there was a line already in front of me. As I waited, I decided to take a few photos as an Elite Yelper does. Haha. I decided to go with half and half, fried rice and noodles and my entree was the mushroom chicken which is one of my favorites. Mushroom chicken consists of mushrooms, chicken, cucumbers and onions. They were a little stingy on filling up my plate with the mushroom chicken. Ugh. Feels like I was ripped off. The fried rice and noodles were good. Noodles were good. Food had enough flavor and didn't need any soy sauce. To drink, I got the peach iced tea. Not too sweet but good enough to wash down my food with. Several restaurants I like were crazy busy, and at 8:30 p.m. I was starving, so I went to an empty Panda Express for maybe the fourth time in my life. I've definitely been to better Panda Express locations in the past. Its a really small location in the Fashion Valley Mall food court with nice outdoor seating. The inside is pretty clean, but the food area is really small; all items are in stock but not really well stocked or well displayed. The service was pleasant, I was welcomed and offered a sample right away, but it was really rushed and impersonal. I guess they're used to people being in a hurry, but there was no one in line behind me. At the register, the second server threw everything hastily in my bag and while I was offered soy sauce, I wasn't offered chopsticks or cutlery which I usually am. The cashier was really nice though, thanked with a smile though. The drinks are self-serve which is good and they have LifeWater Pomegranate flavour which was different than most places. They didn't have pepper which I've come to find that most all locations can get you some from the back. My kids meal, instead of 1/2 vegetables and 1/2 broccoli beef was was 2/3 vegetables and 1/3 broccoli beef... BUT there were only three tiny pieces of beef in the whole box (see photo). When I brought it to the cashier's attention, asking her to maybe let the manager know for next time (cause the serving dish had tons of beef it just seems they were careless in portioning it out) she kind of didn't get my point. Anyway, she then offered me an extra side box which she filled almost half with beef and a few veggies and apologized. I was pleasantly surprised by this; I just hope that they are more careful in the future and this doesn't happen to someone else who won't realize it (if they leave and can't come back). The vegetables were perfectly cooked, nice and crisp and fresh, especially the broccoli. But the beef was kind of gummy and the sauce really runny and bland. Nowhere near as good as I've come to expect. My sample of pepper chicken was really good though. Also, the kid's meal was $5.30 where its $5 at all other locations I've been to. While they were nice and made up for some of their shortcomings, the cons outweigh the pros of this particular location and I'm not sure I'd go back. read more
