Love Taco Time! Been to this branch a few times and it's always clean and the staff are nice. My favorite are the pinto bean crunchy tacos. Much better than anything Taco Bell puts out, the ingredients actually taste fresh and come from local sources. At Taco Bell, most of the time the lettuce tastes sour, the sour cream kinda questionable... I've never had that issue at Taco Time. It's always good. I drove through to get an order to go, and when I was paying the girl read back my order and said a particular burrito (I forgot the name) twice. I stopped her and said, 'I only ordered one, but did it come up 2 times for you? on the reader board back there it only showed one.' She apologized and got her manager to try to over-ride the mistake and I told her 'hun it's okay. I'll take it either way. I know you've been working really hard, and mistakes can happen.' I am a Taco Time believer. I visit this place religously, but tonight I'm not a huge fan of the location I visited. I've never asked them to do anything special to my order but tonight my boyfriend got the enchalada platter. He doesn't like refried beans, so I asked at the window (forgot at the speaker) if they could do more rice instead of beans. Didn't really get a clear answer. Well 5 mins later after they contimplated the rice situation we get our order and I asked if we could get salsa and she told me that its in the bag. Love this place. New building and customized for the Renton highlands with a custom laser cut metal sign inside. Super clean, love the gas fireplace and the comfortable waiting bench for to go orders. Love taco times food in general because they prepare a lot of their food items fresh on site. For example, they have big blocks of cheese they shred, the make their tomato salsa from scratch, not pre packaged, and so on. This all ensures a great, fresh, yummy meal! Now... with people complaining of drive thru times about fast food restaurants, it's completely ridiculous... every drive thru delay is usually Contributed to a customer screwing something up... not the restaurant itself. I've been to many Taco Times, from WA to OR and is the best location thus far. The wait staff and cashiers are very welcoming and accommodating. The digital menus and wood burning fireplace add the perfect a touch of class of what could just be a fast-food taco stop. The lettuce on the tacos is fresh, crisp, and almost wet from recent washing. I've enjoyed the new endless options Coke machines in all Taco Time locations. Until last week, I was based out of Los Angeles, aka "taco central," but even during my seven year tenure, I always missed Taco Time. Chalk it up to childhood nostalgia or white people's affinity for chicken and ranch dressing, but this stuff hits the spot! I ventured out of my parents' pad to grab some lunch, and it hit me that taco time was an option again, so you can bet I hightailed it over to this location. I can't speak for the interior as I opted for the drive thru, but it delivered the usual experience I've come to expect over the years. I want to start this with I love taco time and hate to write this bad review but I am very upset with the service at this location. My wife and I have been to this taco time 7 times in the last month and every time the order has been messed up in some way. My wife is lactose intolerant and specifically mentions her need of no dairy on her soft taco every time, yet they seem to overlook that key detail and on one occasion didn't even send us home with her taco and a separate occasion have had to drive through 3 separate times in one night just to get the order correct. We have had our entire order remade numerous times because everyone eating would like a fresh hot meal and we would like to eat it together. This evening was the last straw. They did it again after asking Brooke 3 times if they made it correctly and if she had the habanero sauce in the bag. She told me yes all 3 times and proceeded to hand my bag to me. We had been waiting for 15 minutes at the window prior to getting our food because they had ran out of beef and were waiting to get other cars orders out to them that were waiting in the parking lot. We drove home to realize the taco was made incorrectly once again and the habenero sauce was not in the bag and we were short a paid for drink, so we proceeded to drive all the way back to try and get there before they closed. The manager Dan had so many excuses. We understand that some days can be busier than others. We explained that we've been given comp cards 2 times before and we don't need our food comped we just want it to be right. Triple check your orders please. Won't be back until they figure out that you can make someone very ill if they can't eat dairy. read more

Love Taco Time? You will NOT like this Renton location. EVERYtime I go here they are SLOOOOOOWWWW. This particular time, my husband and I were behind some nursing students from Renton Technical College who were clearly on break from their evening class. The nursing students had placed their orders to dine-in. The students then realized that if they didn't change their orders to "to-go" that they would be late to return to class. In changing their orders, the employees managed to foul up the students' orders... I only make a point of the experience the students had because it in turn had a cascade effect on the rest of us waiting for out meals. This one experience was based the very fact that each time I have tried their drive-thru service I am frustrated by the amount of time spent in said line. So, my husband and I figured that by going inside we would receive a more "fast food type speed". Bottom line: This location kicks out the same Taco Time quality you expect: Fresh ingredients. I've haven't been to this place in a while, and was really looking forward to a nice meal with my grandma. We ordered a shrimp Baja, a bean taco and a beef burrito. We received a fish taco, a beef taco and a bean burrito. So my grandma asked an employee to have the meal fixed. A female employee went to get her manager, a bald man named Mike. He asked what the problem was, and then abruptly snatched our tray. He came back within in a minute with the fish taco, slammed it on our table without a tray, and said with an annoyed tone, "This is shrimp!" Apparently the taco was mislabeled. My grandma didn't deserve the disrespectful tone from Mike though. Eventually, we got the rest of our food fixed by an employee who apologized to us. But my grandma was still angry because of how that manager Mike treated her. I used to work at Taco Time in Factoria, and they have much better customer service by the managers and employees. They take care to make sure they got your order right and respectfully apologize when they make a mistake. We will never again make the mistake of going back to Taco Time on NE 4th. read more

Food is your standard Taco Time fare. Everything tastes as it should. It would get more stars, but for the drive through. It's slow as molasses. You would think with as many cars that go through the drive-through, the management would figure out a way to make the line go a bit quicker (e.g. hire more people to take orders /make food). I can't comment on the speed inside the restaurant as I've only gone through the drive-thru. Maybe it's the same inside, as well.
