We came here with family and our kids. They have multiple rooms and outdoor patio that provides lots of space for kids to socialize. The service staff is very helpful and friendly. When you walk in you order at the counter then grab a table. If you forget to order something or want more food there is a QR code on the table for you to place additional items. I ordered the Bahn Mi & Poke Taco, both were absolutely delicious. I tried a few different margaritas and they were all very good. First off all there is plenty of parking all over street and they might have their own lot but I have never had an issue finding free parking. The location is large bench tables in the back enough where kids can play and so much room for a large party. Front of the restaurant has tables/chairs and there is also a large outdoor area to eat and party. We had a party of 25 people but so did plenty of groups there at the same time. Now food time. This is what you can order at Taco Social: WAGYU SMASH BURGER, RIBEYE BULGOGI, CARNE ASADA, QUESABIRRIA, TIKKA MASALA , GREEK LIFE, CHICKEN QUESO, MEXI-CALI , BANH MI, PORK DUMPLING, NASHVILLE HOT COD, AHI POKÉ, BAJA FISH, CAJUN SHRIMP, BAJA SHRIMP, THAI CHILI, FALAFEL, and TEMPURA CAULIFLOWER. This may the first instance that I've EVER felt that MAY have felt treated differently because of my looks. I will start by saying there was in fact a decent line for dine in so i opted to order takeout at the kiosk. BUT that does not excuse the fact that i can tell the employees were mad there was a rush. Through gritted teeth they seemed to turn on the "fake nice" with all the other patrons and being the only asian awkwardly standing patiently waiting for my order i was never acknowledged ONCE. I was standing by the bar while the employees shot fake smiles and formalities with every other patron passing by while shooting me side eyes every few mins and avoiding eye contact. I waited over 40 mins for a couple of tacos. ON TOP OF THAT after walking outside and asking myself whats taking so long i walked back over and saw my order sitting behind the cashier without any name or number being called. I had to then ASK THEM MYSELF "is that my order?" Then they asked for my name and they said "oh yes, thank you for you patience" That was the only thing that was said to me the entire 40 mins of me awkwardly standing listening to the employees chat up everyone else. I live so close to this delicious restaurant, and I finally got the chance to check it out. This is a very family friendly restaurant. I came on a Friday night, and the entire patio was filled with families. I also made it right on time before "social hour" ended. The discounted beverages were great during social hour. The food and drinks came out so fast. They have many kinds of tacos, which include some unique flavors like bahn mi, tikka masala, ribeye bulgogi, etc. I tried the fish, shrimp, and carne asada tacos which were all delicious. My friend suggested the bulgogi taco so I had that one and I tried the nashville hot cod taco. Omg both of them were soooo good! They are big sized tacos. Sadly, I didn't have the best experience. When I walked in , I wasn't greeted or given any customer service on where to sit so I just grabbed a seat at the bar. I loved the Thai chili shrimp taco and would definitely come back just for that one! They offered two salsas, one red and one habanero, personally I did not like either one, honestly, these tacos do not need additional salsa. They do not have a typical taco condiment area, as the tacos stand on their own, no additional condiments needed. Came here for a catered event (was in the back patio and the event was catered by Taco Social themselves). The Ribeye Bulgogi and Baja Shrimp tacos were two of my favorites. Stopped by TA in Eagle Rock before an event with a buddy and really liked the "social" side of the place. We got there early around 5:15, so the crowd was still pretty thin, but it had a cool vibe. Cold beer, easy seating, good spacing, and a relaxed setup make it a solid spot to hang before heading out. Now the tacos. They were just okay, and that is a tough place to land in Southern California where tacos are basically a religion and the competition is fierce. The Thai chili shrimp taco was pretty good and easily my best bite. The bulgogi taco missed for me, and the tortilla did not help. It was a bit doughy and honestly reminded me of a grocery store Mission flour tortilla. My friend liked his banh mi taco, so clearly there are better choices on the menu than what I picked. Overall, it is a good place to hang, grab a beer, and soak in the scene. I was in California visiting family, and my parents kept raving about this spot in Eagle rock. They said it had "healthy tacos" which my dad could not get over. So of course, it was on my list the minute I got to town. We went one night and it was packed. Parking wasn't great but once we got inside everything move smoothly. We ordered a mix of tacos and every single one was delicious. My parents go here at least twice a week and now I understand why. The food was flavorful. What made it more frustrating was the attitude and the lack of communication about the delay. I like the ranch water, which is topo chico, tequila and lime juice. I think the queso is too much thick cheese. I prefer just fake nacho cheese so some people may like this queso. Service is a little slow in terms of ordering drinks and food. The food comes out fast but the servers and bartenders aren't very attentive. Ambiance is chill. Love this spot. Nice branding. Large facility. Clean. Easy transaction. Big menu to choose from. What's not to like? Well, parking might be a bit of hassle as there's only spots on the residential streets and out front on Colorado. And the prices are definitely hipster-ish. But these are just minor gripes in what turned out to be a terrific dining experience. Seating is plentiful. There's a nice sized bar with plenty of tables in the front room. But then if you go down the hall, there's a large dining space with even more tables. And plenty of large screen TVs, too. This is a great spot to catch a game. And then if you go even further down the hall, there's a nice little outdoor patio with some dining tables. Really cool, roomy establishment that lives up to its moniker. Now onto the food. These definitely aren't street tacos as they use large flour tortillas. I'd categorize them as "gourmet" tacos with a worldly twist. They're pretty large and everything tastes fresh. Ordered the following: - Carne Asada - 7.5/10: Solid. Meat was tender and flavorful. Not too spicy at all. The crema was a nice surprise. - Ribeye Bulgogi - 8.5/10: Super delicious. Meat was tender as well. Had a nice touch of sweetness to it like bulgogi is supposed to have. Nice blend of veggies and kimchee that wasn't too overpowering at all. Really good taco! - Baja Fish - 7/10: Not bad. Large piece of cod with a nicely seasoned batter. My only complaint is that they should've added more crema in mine. Seemed a tad bit dry. Fountain drinks are out near the register. Behind the bar, there's a bunch of tap offerings for local and popular beers. They also have a large variety of margaritas and cocktails, so you can get your drunk on while eating some bomb tacos. Can't get more social than that. We sat inside near the front with the open door patio. Ordered the Blood Orange and Classic Margaritas. Both really good, but blood orange gets the nod. Sometimes you kick yourself for not trying a place sooner. Case in point with Taco Social. I met my darling "brothers" here for dinner on a Sunday. I got there a bit early and sat at the bar where I was greeted by Nictzia. She had a great personality, and I enjoyed my conversation with her. When my brothers arrived, we sat at a table. After looking over the menu we went to the front to order our food & drinks. When the food is ready it is delivered to your table, and you pick up your drinks at the bar. There is a separate seating area in the back with picnic tables and a play area for kids. The front is al fresco with tabletops near an open window. Both rooms create a social setting and have TVs so you can watch sports. I had the Social-Lite, which is a skinny margarita. It was tart & tasty. We ordered several items to share: Bar-Ba-Coa Crispy open-faced Quesadilla, Loaded Tempura Cauliflower, Poke Nachos, and a variety of tacos: Cajun Shrimp, Aki Poke, Greek Life, & Tempura Cauliflower. They use flour tortillas for their tacos, which I prefer. However, the Ahi Poke comes wrapped in lettuce. Everything was absolutely delicious, flavorful, fresh, and the portions were generous. My husband and I visit this restaurant fairly often and usually enjoy a few rounds of drinks and a variety of tacos. The food and drinks are consistently good, and we always tip 20-25%. Having both worked in the restaurant industry throughout our 20s, we understand how busy shifts can get and generally give the benefit of the doubt when service isn't perfect. During our visit today, we ordered drinks and tacos and sat on the back patio to enjoy the warm weather. When our food arrived, the server asked if we needed anything else. My husband politely asked for some ice, since the ice machine had been out earlier. Instead of helping with that request, she told him the machine should be working now and that he could go up to the bar to get ice himself if it wasn't. While it didn't come across as intentionally rude, it did feel like a lapse in hospitality--especially after she had just asked if we needed anything and given how hot the day was.
