Just went to the drive thru @ Harry & Washington. I was told when I ordered my drink, horchata, that it is an inside only item. When I stated that I get it in Drive thru all the time the employee didn't respond. We were only ones in Drive thru and 2 other cars in parking lot. After waiting about 30 seconds with no reply, we Drive ahead to the window. The employee was on the phone leaning against the window with his back to us. Yep, we'll be going somewhere else. Someone dropped ball yesterday.Son went in to order but brought home. They did so good for a few months. No complaints at all. Don know what happened saturday. Only thing remotely right was chili burrito. It was mainly chili.Combo burrito and beef enchilada were to have x cheese. Not only were they short on cheese but hardly any filling at all. 7 taco were badia little lettuces. 2 sanchos were a little meat and the tortilla. I used to not really enjoy this place so much, but they've made a few really good adjustments over the years and the food is really good now. (In my opinion!) So is the sauce. The sauce has made a massive improvement. Anyway. Staff is fine (sometimes grouchy), food is good, parking is terrible and the parking lot is a mess. But it's an old building that has been around for at least 30-40+ years. Times were different when this was constructed and I don't really know how they could "fix" it. It is what it is. Easiest for getting in and out is to park out back of the building and walk up. They are really busy all of the time, so I can't give you a good off-peak time to go for certain, but typically the 2-4pm range is slower. I would recommend them for to-go orders but I also don't like crowds unless it's a concert. So take that for what it is. The taco burgers and the fried flour tacos are my thing here. My mom and brother love the tacos salads. My dad does the combo with the taco burger, regular crunchy taco, tostada, and drink. My husband likes the fried flour tacos and the burritos. They have Pepsi products which (for me anyways) is a plus. The food is very affordable so a great spot to go if you're on a budget. read more

The last 3 times I've been here my orders are missing food. I've called and gone back but they treat me like I'm trying to get something for free. Their prices have gone up and accuracy has gone down. It's not for lack of staff since there's at least 8 people working there. Check your orders before you leave! Went to drive thru at Harry location, ordered $18 worth of food last Sunday afternoon... At home I noticed I was missing 5 items. I called Taco Shop, the person who answered said he was the manager but would not give his first name. I started my issue in a calm, polite manner... After he said that they make thousands of orders and some will be "screwed up" and that I was being a "Dick and a asshole". Somewhat shocked I asked for his first name and he said "fuck off, call tomorrow to complain. After viewing the Taco Shop website and finding nothing as far as management or ownership, I scoured the Internet and found 2 names on the Dun and Bradstreet website. Sadly, my 20 year relationship with TS has died a fiery death and the many gift cards I purchased at Christmas for friends and family will be no more. Luckily, there are many ways to make my point of how the taste of poor service far outlast the taste of the food. The Internet and small claims court will be my retribution. My pregnant wife tried to get lunch today and no one was wearing a mask. She asked if anyone was wearing one and the manager tried to tell her the numbers are down so it is fine. I have never in my life been so disrespected! We tried to order an HOUR before they closed and the night shift manager refused to fill our order bc "we needed to be more respectful at 10pm and not order so much." After calling to find out why the order could not be filled the manager was incredibly rude!! When you run a business and are still open for an HOUR it seems super lazy and ridiculous that they couldn't make 6 burritos.... what the heck!?! read more

Been going to the Taco Shop for years and never had bad food. This evening was probably the last time I'd want to go here. First thing we noticed was dirty tables. Empty tables and seats were covered in the last guests food crumbs, leftover salsa and we cleaned a table ourselves so we could eat. Next came the flat tacos that had mire refried beans than meat. Never had a taco with beans here before and they were so skimpy on the filling it was ridiculous. I get prices on products have gone up, but please let your customers know you're adding a filler of BEANS as some people do not like them! read more

Taco Shop is a super cheap and fast place to grab Mexican food. They have a few combos to choose from and a list of individual items. They default to mild sauce and will do no sauce or hot upon request. The food isn't phenomenal, but isn't terrible either. Generic at best. read more

This is my favorite fast food in Wichita. Every time I come home I have to stop in for tostadas, try the hot sauce, it's great! This is the location I usually visit after a long hard afternoon of shopping at Name Brand Clothing. Extra points for having Diet Mountain Dew in their fountains! The food is pretty good for cheap Mexican. It's actually incredibly good for the price. The one thing I hate about this place is how painfully slow the service is. It's not because of their lack of effort. There's usually no less than eight people working behind the counter. Regardless of the wait, overall I can't say anything bad about this place. The only reason I eat here is because its cheap, not because its good. The side of their building says Wichita's best taco, I don't know where they got that, but it should say cheapest. There is a McDonald's on every corner, but I wouldn't call that the best hamburger. That being said, today, when I stopped there for lunch, it was neither good, nor correct. This is a tough review to write, because I could easily give Taco Shop anywhere between two and four stars and feel justified. First off, this place deals in VOLUME, sometimes at the expense of a certain level of quality. This is the "taco version" of White Castle or CiCi's Pizza or any chinese buffet in Wichita. This is the drive-through you hit when you're too busy to make better tacos at home, which I'm not too ashamed to admit happens at our house sometimes. A dozen standard tacos go for $6.99 here, and will feed a family of four if one or two of the kids stop at two tacos and Dad's not a taco pig. Go ahead and order them with "hot" sauce, because it really isn't all that hot. In fact, order some extra sauce, because there's never enough on the tacos. They're okay, standard "Wichita" tacos, with some well-processed beef filling, quite a bit of lettuce, and a sprinkle of cheese. Again, think "White Castle" of tacos. They have a variety of "value meals" with an included drink that are good if you're looking for some variety. Other than the bag of tacos, I like the occasional taco burger, combo burrito or pork burrito. I generally run them home and dose them up with additional salsa and sour cream. Note: at lunch time, they can get very busy, with cars wrapped around the building and people inside waiting to take your table when you finish. So either they're really not all that bad, or maybe Wichita is willing to trade a certain amount of quality for lunch-time convenience. Either way, they're our "local taco stand" and worthy of the occasional visit. read more

Easily the worst food I've ever had, Mexican or not. I ordered a taco, tacoburger and tostada. The taco had about 1 tablespoon of gummy beef (?) and maybe soy mix spread on it with some soggy lettuce and was about 1/4-inch thick. The same with the tacoburger; about 1 tablespoon of some kind of gummy beef (?) and soggy lettuce. The tostada had cold runny beans and again the soggy lettuce. If this is what passes for Mexican food in Wichita and people think it's good it blows my mind. I would have asked for my money back, but the only thing going for this place is that it is relatively cheap, although my food was so bad it should have been free. I am from out of town and was looking for quick mexican food. I ran across this place and thought I would give it a try. It was ok but not good or anything special. I had a cheese enchilada and a beef quesadilla. The enchilada was drowning in sauce and it was not very good at all. The beef quesadilla was ok but nothing great. The staff was very unorganized and while I was ordering, 5 of them were arguing with the manager about who came in first and who gets to go on break first. The place did have about 10 other customers and more came in while I was there. I always assume if people are coming then it must at least be ok. The prices are cheap. They have all you can eat Taco's on Monday nights. I would compare this place to Taco Bell. read more

I just discovered this place a few months ago. It has become my favorite fast food restaurant. They must have figured out the wait thing since March because I have yet to experience any delay. I have tried most of the things on the menu and it's all really good (well, maybe the enchilada plate is a bit bland and distracting). And really inexpensive...much lower than Taco Bell. I often go by mid-afternoon and they are quite busy and have plenty of staff keeping busy. And it is kept clean. Every time I've been there is at least one employee out in the sitting area with a broom, mop or they are wiping the tables. I can't think of anything else I would want in a fast food place. They are not a 5-star restaurant, but they're the best I've found for what they do...hence the 5 stars. read more

For fast food tacos, Taco Shop is my favorite in Wichita. The prices are very low and they have good daily specials, including all you can eat tacos on Mondays. The tacos are crisp but not too tough like some other places. The burritos are also good. I've never had a problem with their service. Taco Shop has very good food for a very reasonable price. You can eat for less than $5.00. Their taco sauce is great. They have daily specials which save even more money. Last night was the worst experience I ever had. Went through the drive thru and how to wait a very long time for order to be wrong. The fixed but forgot to give us a drink. Since it was after the doors were locked we had to wait another 15 minutes in the line just to get the drink. When we were at the speaker we asked if we could get a fee up size on the drink for having to wait in line again. The employee told us to hold on she had to ask a manager. After about 5 minutes she came back and said she could not do that, but they could give us the drink they forgot. As a Manger at another restaurant I found this very unacceptable, the answer should have been "Yes". After we were told no, we decided that what had happened we wanted our money back. The managers said she could not do that but give us the money for the drink back but that's all. The manager escalated the situation to the point where they called the assistant manager and he said the same thing and told them to call the cops. There is poor management here very poor management. read more
