Food: I very much enjoyed the vegetarian huevos rancheros. I have a love/hate relationship with beans so I ordered 75/25 rice/beans. The serving size was perfect! Not too big, not too small. What an odd combination of wonderful and awful. We started with a margarita, which was unique and awesome, extra sour, decent tequila. Next, we got the rice and beans that came with our fish taco plate orders. Lots of flavor in these beans, we gobbled them up! Now, we were ready for great Baja style fish tacos... fresh rockfish being an ok substitute for mahi mahi, shredded red cabbage, pickles and cotija or queso blanco dressing... YUM... But, these were anything but that. I suppose the tortillas and cabbage were ok, but the fish was RANK! It was so bad, I thought we'd get sick if we ate it. We never return food..., but I had to. The guy working the stand by himself was nice enough but shocked that we thought rockfish that "we bought and battered just 3 days ago" wasn't to our liking. Three days for rockfish? Oh no. You might get away with that with fresh snapper, but rockfish starts off a bit strong and is repulsive if left in the fridge for 3 days. Further, the sad, turd-shaped (no, I'm serious, just like Mr. Hanky...) fish stick in each taco was not only rubbery and old but tiny. Not the chunks of lightly tempura battered fresh fish we expected. So, we got him to replace them with beef. This was not pastor, but more like a dry shredded beef. It was at least safe to eat, but SO dry. We finished a third between us. And, guess what? The price... OMG... $70? WHAT.A.RIPOFF. read more

Under new management, although my first time here. I came almost as they opened. I had a great breakfast, pretty good Mexican flavors, for a good price. I ordered the 2 breakfast tacos, vegetarian. I expected (ok hoped) for a bit more cheese, but I was reminded of a trip to Mexico City where cheese isn't considered a food group. Not a problem. Flavors were good, service was great. I had their homemade horchata - and it was excellent! Seating inside is sparce, but available. I'm guessing in the spring and summer the outside tables are a must. I've dropped in from time to time over the years, and I was always disappointed. So I never returned inside of 2 years. Today I was hungry. Working with mud on walls. So I decided to brave it again. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I even asked the manager what changed. A new manager with a clear vision and an insistence on adhering to the recipes!!! I had the beef tacos and a Mexican coke. A veggie burrito at the taco peddler is basically rice and beans in a tortilla. No lettuce cheese no onions or peppers. No flavor really. I got some guacamole for two dollars more and there was a tiny bit. At $16 it felt like a very unsatisfying lunch. Every bite tasted the same and it's a cute place. Very neighborhood. With picnic tables outside. Very Portland vibe. But $16 at chipotle will get you a whole lot more. I would rather support a local business. But it needs to offer a little bit better food. read more

I stopped in yesterday around noon for a quick lunch. ordered a couple of spicy chorizo street tacos and Jarritos soda. The restaurant wasn't too busy, I was served relatively quickly. Ambience in the restaurant is fine for what it is, a very small storefront and the service person was very pleasant. Had to knock down a couple of stars because the chorizo, while flavorful, was very hard. like old chorizo. Other than that, the Mexican cheese and the tortillas were very nice. I think I'm going to try and come back here one more time and see if maybe it was just a fluke but this one particular dining experience was only so so. read more

This little spot is off the hook! Super friendly staff, beyond amazing food. I tried the pork 'Dilla and the Baja fish taco. The dilla is more of an empanada experience but FULL of fantastic fresh local ingredients. The fish taco hit ALL of the classic crunchy cabbage, sweet fruity pico, and creamy aspects that I love about fish tacos. My partner had the chicken salad Fresca. They took the time to crisp up the shedded chicken... next level stuff that shows they care and take pride in providing excellent food at a very reasonable price! In a town where there's Mexican restaurants on every other street, Taco Peddler has done an amazing job of taking the path less traveled! as a Texan, I'm cautious of Mexican or "Tex mex" outside of a few states, however this was phenomenal. Bobby's customer service was absolutely top notch. the food was great, the salsa is delicious, the drinks are strong and SO GOOD 10/10. to top it all of the restaurant is SO CUTE. read more

Incredibly Mid. The size of tacos is good and full but they only give you one dry tortilla each, and the flavors are very bland. I would say these are tacos for white folks but even some white folks use salt. they were listening regaee -and then country- so the vibes were quite off. The hot sauces were decent and the flavor savior for sure. The house margarita was too tart but not the worst ive had. Most likely wont be returning. read more

Came for a lighter bite. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I ended up on a cup of pozole and a small salad with pork. The pozole was perfectly filled with spice and creamy hominy. The salad had good flavors, but I didn't realize the pork would be carnitas style and found it to be a bit too salty. read more

We are writing this review not to put this establishment down but we would like them to do better if they like to stay in business. We ordered carnitas burrito, two chorizo taco's, chips and 1 margarita. We find the food too pricey for $43... we are expecting a flavorful meal but we are disappointed. The taco's tortilla served cold and tastes like a raw flour... chorizo was just fried and no hint of a chorizo taste... Burrito was flat.. the margarita was just sour... The place was empty and we are the only customer inside, there were two people ordered to go and we waited more than 30mins for the food to be served! On a bright and sunny February day, Taco Pedaler's tacos & margaritas plus outside seating stopped me in my tracks. Tacos and a margarita? Yes, please! I've been here many times since I used to live in this neighborhood. The tacos are good, not the best in a town with lots of taco options. They are a little bland for my taste, but when I'm running errands on NE Broadway and I have a craving, Especially on a sunny day, I stop in. The tortillas are hand pressed, very tasty, you can tell the difference. My choice for taco filling is the carnitas and/or the chicken. I ask for extra cilantro, chopped onions and lime to add more flavor, pus the red salsa. Pricier than most at $3.50 a taco, that's to be expected when a favorite food cart has to pay the steep rent for a brick and mortar spot. Go on Tuesday for $2.00 tacos all day! The margaritas are good and it's usually the combo that brings me here. For those days when you are craving a taco and it's the first sunny day and you want a margarita along with, Taco Pedler hits the mark. $9 for a legit margarita; a $1 off during Happy Hour. read more

The only good thing here was the Horchata. Loved it. However, the food I received was just straight up gross. Crusty old taquitos with crunchy rice. It was fairly expensive food, so for it to be this inedible was honestly pretty frustrating. On top of this, the register clerk/bartender/waiter had a major attitude for seemingly no reason. An old man was celebrating his birthday with his wife at the table next to us (not being loud or anything, I just happened to overhear) and the waiter was super rude. The man simply asked if the exterior had been redone and the waiter really snapped at him over it. I was hoping this restaurant would be one of those hole-in-the-wall surprises where the food makes up for the dingy atmosphere and counter service. Unfortunately, I was wrong on all counts. The food was overpriced for the portion size and taste. I ordered chicken tacos with rice and beans. The chicken tasted like leftover bar food. It was shredded chicken fried in a skilled. The beans seemed reheated in the microwave. The canteen of ice water, which I poured myself, was right next to the garbage can. Yuck! It seemed like the most unsanitary location for fresh water. I wandered into this place on Margarita Day. Who comes up with these days?! Either way, they happened to have some create your own margs. I went with a Hibscus with a pineapple/serrano infusion and my lady went with mango and jalapeño. The tacos were also delicious. I smashed through a couple carnitas and a fish. I really enjoyed the tacos here!!! The chicken, beef and pork are all good! Nice tender shredded meat with cilantro and cabbage with a touch of queso fresca on hand rolled tortillas, yum yum. Simple but delicious! The spicy crema makes the perfect topping for them all! If you have it You don't even need the salsa verde or red salsa ( has a depth of flavor like tomato paste) but red paired well with the spicy crema. We got more tacos to go for dinner lol read more

I LOVED the hand pressed corn quesadilla with cheese and I also got the soyrizo one to try. I liked it a lot as well. I really enjoyed the side of pinto beans. Burrito bowls FTW! This place has become a part of my weekend morning dog walk routine, as it's one of the few neighborhood spots with outside tables that allow me to sit with the pooch while I chow down. As a result, I've explored their breakfast/brunch menu, and I'm a fan. Especially of those dang burrito bowls. Green chili scrambled eggs, potatoes, onion, cheese, and meat (i get chorizo), plus I add the guac and rice. I get the medium salsa and it comes with a side of pico. This is a pretty perfect morning meal, and it's not such a huge portion to leave me feeling gross. Still pretty high-price for what it is, but since when did I start making wise financial decisions? Plus, it allows for breakfast dates with my favorite little puppers, so that's worth a couple of extra dollars. read more

This was a all around bad experience. From walking in I felt crowded. To the rushed experience of ordering. The people taking my order were rude and seemed mad that I asked a question. When we received our food the chips all were broken and seemed like the bottom of the bag. The food was bland and the meat was dry. The fish was really fishy. The hot sauce was not hot. My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday morning, looking for a good breakfast burrito... They did NOT disappoint! When I tell you this burrito was massive, I'm talking heft! It was chock-full of every savory, crunchy, melty meaty Item you'd expect in a breakfast burrito. Scrambled eggs, tater tots, sausage, cheese... and THEN they raise the bar by adding caramelized onions, delicious green chili and poblano-infused crema. All wrapped up in a flour tortilla. My husband and I couldn't see eating a whole one by ourselves, so we cut one of the 2 we bought in half and shared it. I'm so glad we did. We were excited that we had a second one for later...it was that good! Although our visit was brief, due to walking in and ordering "to go" from the bar, the restaurant ambiance was quaint and clean and our server was kind, friendly and greeted us warmly. The chefs prepared and packaged everything with care. We could taste the massive love in their food. There are few burritos that can top this in my book and the ones that do aren't located in Oregon.
