This place is amazing. I don't know if this one is one of the OG ones that's been around for a long while or not... but, it definitely as that feel. The service is quick and fast, they hand you a number that you put on your table and they bring the food straight out to you. The salsa bar is a huge plus... i don't think i seen one wiith this many selections at previous Taco Nazo's. The will give you more yellow peppers upon request. The fish tacos here are by far superior to any local taco spot in the nearby area. There is a reason why people come here for the fish tacos... this place will remain in business for decadesto come. My wife and I had our Valentine's Day lunch here because she absolutely loves fish tacos and I researched for the very best fish taco in the SoCal area. While other Taco Nazo locations might have been closer to our home, we made the drive out to the original La Puente location since we wanted to best experience possible. The fish tacos were absolutely amazing! The batter was super crispy and the fish was super fresh. The side of rice and beans I got were also decent. There was plenty of seating in their covered outdoor patio area and they bring the food right to your table after ordering it at the window. Service was great and they offered us extra salsa for the chips that we got as part of the taco combo. Been a fan of Taco Nazo for some time now and finally came to this location which is the first/original location. Of course, you get the fish tacos here and then the potato tacos. Unless the recipe has changed at all locations, the potato tacos here were more mushy potatoes and not the crispy potatoes that I recall from other locations (looking at you El Monte). Nevertheless, still tasty and had no issues eating them. The seating here is outdoors with a tarp to help keep the weather out but can be a bit noisy since they are on Valley Blvd. Service was friendly and I will be back when I'm in the mood for fish tacos. Each taco comes with double tortillas, a huge piece of fish or shrimp, light on the batter, crema, tomatoes, cabbage, pico de gallo. On the side you get your red salsa (mostly tangy instead of hot) and a salted Chile Guerito (yellow pepper)- also not packing heat. The tacos are loaded and pretty filling. At $4.49 each it sounds pricey but it's a decent sized taco. Props for having El Yucateco habanero salsa on the tables. This is the perfect pairing for your tacos and does pack heat! Many thanks to Lisa Y. for steering me to my local Taco Nazo. I was looking at the reviews from fellow Yelpers and realized we all have good taste in Tacos! Something I did not realize was that fish tacos are my favorite among the others I've tried. However, that should not take away from the delicious beef tacos complementing my two fish tacos. I was surprised patrons could not go inside, but there is a drive-thru, for fast service. There is patio seating too, which would be so fun dining on a nice Autumn day. I had a really frustrating experience here. I was standing there for about 10 minutes and no one ever took my order. What made it worse was watching people who came in after me get helped and receive their food while I was still waiting. The staff also had a pretty bad attitude no acknowledgment, no communication, nothing. I get that places get busy, but basic customer service and respect shouldn't be too much to ask. You order first at the window and get a number stick, then choose where you want to sit. Even the line area has shade provided. Drive through has a guy with a pad to take orders ahead of time. Food was delicious. Recommend the 8 taco tray if you're sharing with someone. Fried fish was big, moist. The taco was generous with the white sauce and fresh herbs toppings. Ordered a fish/ pulpo ceviche from this place $23.99 and a taco de papa, the famous fish taco. The tacos woutstanding, but unfortunately your ceviche is no good. The pulpo was good, but the ceviche was like if you are eating a lemon by itself. It has so much lemon that it was un eatable. Please take this from your menu! Oh my gosh you guys I just had the best tacos from this place hands down. Potato, chicken and asada amazing! Rice and beans to go with it so yummy. The kicker though is the green peppers they grill and put on the side, WOW!!! Some can be spicy and some not so but the taste is overall very good. The tacos shells are obviously hand made. Their homemade salsa was really good too. It had a nice spicy kick to it and you can tell it's made fresh. During peak hours I could imagine it getting crowded or slowed down due to the size of the drive thru path. The tacos have not changed in quality for the last 8 years which is great. Naturally they are best fresh. They have an awesome crunch, the problem with the take out is that there are wet toppings like tomatoes and sour cream. Taco Nazo has multiple locations but this one is conveniently located near the Vineland Swap Meet and 605 freeway. Came here with some friends after exploring the swap meet. We got there before open so we decided to hang out at the patio, but the staff were kind enough to open a little early and let us order. Most of us ordered the Fish Tacos. One of us also ordered a Carne Asada Taco. The tacos came out quickly. They are served with a red salsa, green salsa, limes, and peppers. The tacos are big and the fish is crispy and fresh. The fish tacos are topped with cabbage and pico de gallo. Everything tasted great. Overall, giving Taco Nazo a 4.5/5 but rounding up to a 5 since the staff were so nice and service was great. It can be a little loud when dining on the patio since it is right on Valley Blvd which is a big street and also close to the freeway.
