Elotes

This place is super unassuming from the outside, but the food is so good it'll have you ready to dance. We ordered a ton, including the Tuesday taco plate with fries. I got the chicken tinga, steak, and samosa taco. The steak was good but nothing crazy, the chicken tinga was *so* flavorful, and the samosa taco (which was recommended to me) ended up being my favorite. Whatever sauce they put on it was amazing. The fries were surprisingly good too. really well seasoned with a slight kick. We also shared elotes and guac, and both were solid. Honestly, this spot is a strong 4.5/5 and definitely worth checking out. The servers were really nice. Someone had trouble ordering in their food and they helped us out.

Came across Taco Maya on DoorDash and was craving Mexican food! Taco Maya has a high rating and nachos were starred as one of the most ordered menu items so let's try it! Ordered the supreme nachos, ground beef, no guacamole...the meat was a tad salty but other than that it's a very big serving (def can share). Also ordered one birria taco which was excellent w/ the consume. I like that you can choose corn or flour tortillas (always choose corn for birria). Would definitely try again!

Good portion. Good product. Good price. Open later. Highly recomend. Only here for a few days but this is on par with what we have in the west coast.

Stopped by Taco Maya for the first time, and wow--what a great find. The tacos were packed with flavor, and the chicken tikka was the standout of the meal. Even the to‑go boxes looked great. I enjoyed the Mexican‑style tacos way more than the American ones. Shoutout to Riddhi for adding chips and salsa to my order. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in Chicago.

Very very good tacos in my opinion, and they came out quick. I really liked the shrimp and chingon tacos. El pastor was okay, not my top choice as it's less juicy. Our server was nice.

I placed an order at 9:01pm via their mobile app. My sister found this location as it was near our hotel. On their website, they have you get $7 off your first order via the app. When placing the order via the app, the discount did not apply. I called the restaurant and I was told they would manually check that it's my first order and provide a refund. I got the kids chicken quesadilla and fries for my son. I got the 3 taco plate American and Mexican style without lettuce and tomato. One taco was chicken, one was steak, and one was chorizo. I got rice and beans on the side. The order was ready at 9:09pm. I like how they placed the refried beans in a little fried tortilla cup so that it wouldn't be messy and mixed with the other food. More Mexican restaurants should do this! My favorite taco was the steak one. The other two were okay. My son enjoyed his food and the fries were seasoned, which was nice. I stole a few, haha. They have lunch and daily specials throughout the week. I didn't get a change to return as i was on vacation, but I would in the future.

A friend was visiting Chicago and on a whim we decided tacos were what we wanted for lunch. With zero expectations, we arrived at Taco Maya, and right away, we were pleased with the environment and the cleanliness of the place. It was busy, for lunch hour, because it was a weekday, and yet the service was super quick. Here's a breakdown of everything: The chips and salsa: chips were super crispy, and had a hint of salinity, which is the mark I always look for in a good chip. The salsa was great as well, flavorful without being too spicy, you kept wanting to go back for more. The Birria tacos were a hit with my friend, and she loved the horchata. My shrimp tacos were pretty good too, but nothing to write home about. The chicken taco I got was fantastic, and again, it hit the right spice level without overwhelming the protein. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas and devoured each bite. The rice was warm and delicious, but the beans were PHENOMENAL, and the little chip cup they come in made all the different because it added the perfect texture to scoop the beans with, or break and eat with. The STAR of my day, and the show, was the Espresso Horchata - I will go back to this place for the espresso horchata alone! Definitely recommend!

I thought that the tacos were great! On par with some of the best tacos I have had in Miami. The salsa bar is great too. Give them a try.

I ordered the Oreo Milk Tea, and I was honestly blown away. It was so good that I couldn't leave without going back for a second one! That alone should tell you everything you need to know. The customer service made the experience even better. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive, creating an environment that makes you feel appreciated as a customer. Great service paired with amazing drinks is always a winning combination. What really stands out is the combination of great flavors, generous portions, affordable pricing, and a team that makes the experience enjoyable from start to finish. If you're ever in the plaza, do yourself a favor and stop by Matcha EN. This is definitely a spot worth supporting, and I'll absolutely be returning!

I got…read morethe matcha parfait- which was a generous portion but I really question if there was much matcha in it. The color is super bright but not the green I usually associate with matcha. I don't want to claim it was all food coloring but it only taste like vanilla ice cream. It wasn't too crowded at night and was able to get my order fairly quickly. I wouldn't really say this is a good matcha spot since it doesn't seem to have any matcha flavor. I had a suspicion from the menu options that they used to be Kyomatcha (a popular matcha dessert chain) but now called Matcha En. The good reviews are probably from the days it was Kyomatcha and not the current quality.

The place has a simple, minimalistic and colorful look, but there are some really fun details, like the craft tables and the whole wall of colorful beads where someone can make their own Perler crafts. It gives the place a playful little personality. The staff were super nice and gave me some really good recommendations since it was my first time there. I decided to start with the traditional Japanese cheesecake, and wow... the texture was the first thing that got me. It was incredibly soft and fluffy, almost like biting into a little cloud, but it still had enough body to feel like cheesecake. The cheese flavor was gentle and creamy instead of being super heavy or overly sweet. There was a slight tanginess that balanced everything out, and it had this light, almost airy finish that just disappeared in my mouth. But then I tried it with the ice cream together... 100% better. The cold, creamy ice cream with the warm, soft cheesecake created this really good contrast. The extra sweetness from the ice cream brought out more of the cheesecake's subtle cheese flavor without covering it up. Definitely a different kind of cheesecake, and I'm glad I tried it.

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.

One thing I personally did not like was that they require customers to pay first before the food comes out. For a sit-down restaurant, I prefer to eat first and pay after, especially when service is expected. The service was not very proactive during our visit. Chicago to be exact and it was our first stop and with great reason as there is a lot that goes on here as well with various shops and restaurants it is a fun and vibrant open air spot for whatever you're in the mood for though it was walking distance from where we were coming from it's nice to see the have Chicago CTA literally right across the street.
