i entered this establishment for the first time today not knowing what to expect. I went with four of my companions, two of which had already dined here. Those two raved about the food so I had high expectations. We were greeted immediately with a happy face as we entered. The floors were a bit dirty. The wait was not bad at all, surprisingly. Our waitress came to us within a couple of minutes. We ordered the raspberry bean dip as an appetizer, and it was extremely delicious. I ordered the pork El Mexicano and Buffalo Chicken tacos. They were top notch. The only disappointing part about my visit was the extended wait. We waited probably 20 minutes for our food and it wasn't even that busy. Great tacos. It's in the name. Been there a lot, and with the variety of options it usually doesn't get old. They also often have good specials to augment the normal menu. The margaritas are also done well, which isn't a given for a lot of Mexican fusion restaurants. The atmosphere is fun, it does get noisy on game nights, but no where near to the extent of a bar. The restaurant is small but we went when they weren't too busy so we got a table right away. I ordered the stacked taco and it was huge! Well worth the price, I took home the leftovers and made it into 3 meals! It was delicious too. I would order it again. We also got chips and queso for an appetizer and that was good too. read more

YUM. I got the fish taco and the Tuesday special which sounds strange but was very tasty - peanut butter, steak, siracha, bacon, & cheese. The fish taco was very good but was also very heavy on the cream. The special was just the right amount of spicy and was very flavorful. I will be going again! The atmosphere is LOUD, so this would not be a good place if you're hoping to have important conversations, but it still has a very welcoming feel. Definitely worth stopping in! (The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they are pretty pricey. For 2 small sized tacos, I ended up spending just under $9 - not including tip) read more

This place is fun! With indoor and out door seating, and always pretty clean. I've never had a bad experience, and my food is always cooked perfectly. This place was like a hidden gem for my husband and I, and a refreshing change from the run of the mill chain restaurants in the area! I must say my favorite item on the menu had to be a portobello quesadilla, and even though it's an appetizer, it's so amazingly large it could be a full meal, haha! My husband and I are new to the area. We are both young professionals, and still getting a feel for the area. A friend had recommended this place, but warned us that it was small. We had a drink at the bar while waiting for a table, and the host came up to us and told us we were being removed from the wait list. I explained to her that we still wanted a table to eat at, we were just having a drink while we waited. Then she said, "I'm going to have to ask you to get up, and pay your tab." She follows that pleasant demand with, "You can either sit in the bar or in the restaurant, you can't do both." She told us that we would need to stand and drink (there is no real waiting area to accommodate a crowd), and that the bar was for eating customers only. The bartender was nice and got us our tab right away, but that was embarrassingly rude! I know she doesn't work for tips, but what an awful way to talk to customers. We finished our drinks and went to CoCo Bollos instead. There we were treated well, and have gone there ever since. She was so rude to us about it that I can't even fathom going back there. I do feel kind of bad if people were waiting to sit there, and we just took there spot. However, I've never been to a place that has a waiting list for the bar. Usually businesses (and bartenders) welcome people just coming to get a drink while they wait for their table. Our bill for drinks in 3 minutes was $15.00 which equals a $3 tip and increased sales for the business. We would have had 2 or 3 a piece, and the friends who were meeting us would have as well. Food is $9 a plate, and we stay in the spot for over an hour. You don't want that at the bar. Drink sales are always more than food sales when you factor in time. It's just good business. You are providing an experience for people when they come in. This was an awful one. read more

Our favorite place in MHK. The only downside is the small seating area, but we've never waited more than 30min for a table. And even while we were waiting, the wait staff still gets us started on Nancies (their signature drink). No matter who I go with, we always start with some chips and the raspberry chipotle bean dip! Sounds like an interesting combination, but it is incredible! I haven't tried many things on the menu, because their daily special is always so incredible. The food is good, but the service is definitely lacking. Sometimes the waitresses forget about you and your table, but I understand they are super busy. This place isn't great for larger groups as they have very limited seating--if you have a party of 6 or more expect to wait an hour. Taco Lucha has been a fav since day one! The steak el Mexicano is delish. And, their guac is out of this world fresh and great! Service is fantastic always, and though they're generally packed and the place is fairly small, our wait has never been exceedingly long. Stopped here for a late lunch after moving our son into his dorm. Food was excellent! Tried the pork Tinga and steak Slayer tacos. Both were delicious. The combination of flavors along with being expertly prepared made for a great experience. Also, they really pile on the ingredients, and not just the vegetables and sauces. There was a healthy serving of meat in each of the tacos. I was pleasantly surprised by how filling they were. Will definitely be eating here again in the future. read more

Love the environment that Taco Lucha has created- especially outside seating. When I eat there I feel like I am on vacation and the music is good! This restaurant offers a unique and simple menu. It was my first time taking my wife to Aggieville and the first restaurant we went to was this Mexican joint. Looked like your average bar that happened to sell Mexican food. The environment was good and I really liked the outside patio for some reason. They didn't wipe off the tables before they sat us down, but whatever I'm a dude i don't care, my wife noticed it right away and pointed it out. The menu was small but I assume they are really good with what they make. The tacos that I had were really good and priced very reasonable. These are not your typical tacos. They are upscale now flavors that you don't normally expect from a mexican restaurant. I get 2 to 3 tacos depending on how hungry I am, and will go here multiple times a week. It never gets old. You have variety from the normal El Mexicano Taco with steak, cilantro, cheese, and a creamy sauce, to the eccentric buffalo chicken tacos.
