It was missing the side orders and then we couldn't get any ketchup without asking three times. Then she brought us 8 packages and explained they were the last ketchup in the store. This was the first time we have visited a Taco John's , and I have no clue how this place can stay in business. This is a fast food taco place, similar to other large taco chains, but the service and food are lousy. A basic lunch order took almost 30 minutes - a half hour for fast food tacos. GF review This is also a Good Times Burger. I ordered the double cheeseburger meal and asked for it lettuce wrapped without tomatoes of pickles. What I got honestly made me laugh! Basically two small pieces of lettuce, burger patties, cold cheese and all of the fixings (including tomato and pickles). I made it work but the meal just made me laugh. However, the staff was very nice and the French fries are really yummy which is why I still have gave 3 stars. I ordered a burrito and asked for just beans, guacamole, and potatoes. The outside of it had shreds of cheese attached, like it was made on an unclean surface. The inside had a chunk of meat. Also a lot of onions, which i didn't want. The chunk of meat was really gross to find. They clearly are a mess in the kitchen. I'd just had Taco John's for the first time in Bozeman, and was enthusiastic to having it again. This experienced abruptly ended my short love affair with TJ's. The staff working the register were really, really nice. Hopefully they fix their problem in the kitchen and take more care not mixing meat and cheese with everything before they ruin more people's days and / or some religious person sues them. I do not know where to begin, Taco John's was undoubtedly the single worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The first words out of the young man at the counters mouth were "i'm new and I never eat here" when asked a question about the menu. He didn't understand a single thing about how to work the computer at the counter and took 10 minutes just to take our order. What a disappointment of a place to eat. This place should only serve their fries and tots. I got a "super burrito" today. It was a flimsy little thing, nothing super about it. It was mostly cold beans, cold cheese, cold sour cream... just cold. I didn't expect it to look like the photo since it's fast food but I was expecting to get some more meat in there or contents but it was this flat thing open on one end and pretty disgusting to eat especially since it was cold. This was my second time coming in and having the same experience, otherwise I wouldn't have written this review. Taco Bell gives you more food and you don't pay as much for it. Taco John's is pretty much only good if you want to be disappointed in spending your money. read more

We went through the drive through. It was shortly after 2p.m. when we got in line behind about 4 cars. We finally gave our order at 2:20, paid at 2:28, and FINALLY got our order at 2:32. It was at least 25 minutes! We ordered 2 drinks that the sign said should be $1 between 2p.m. and 5p.m. When we ordered, she charged the full price but said she would correct it at the window, when we pointed the mistake out. We went through the drive through and we are the only car in there we pulled up to the window and then had 3 individuals come and ask what we ordered and it was on the screen in front of them. This is not the worst Taco John's I have every been to (that would be the one on the north end of Casper Wyoming before remodel, or the Taco John's that time forgot that I visited once in New Mexico). This is a combination TJ's and Good Times. I think that may slow down their taco prep. On this visit, I made the mistake of going inside to order. I think that they served 20 cars in the drive-thru in the time that it took them to put my food together. They were not very apologetic about the wait, and they messed up that my order was "to go". The nicest, cleanest Taco Johns I have ever been to. ALSO, much quicker when it comes to preparing the food compared to every other Taco Johns I've experienced. I may have a slight obsession with their Potato Ole Bravos... little crunchy, salty discs of potatoes smothered with beans, taco meat, sour cream, tomatoes, cheese...even the horrible version of guacamole works on this messy little gem... Yum. I can't not stop when I see a Taco Johns considering there aren't any at all near me... even if I did just eat breakfast 3 hours earlier, must stop. MUST. I do have to say, I don't love much else at Taco Johns, I won't lie. BUT this place was so darn clean, woman at the counter was very nice, the salsa bar was so very clean, soda fountains spotless. I just never see that level of cleanliness in Taco Johns, I have to give them 5 stars for that. read more

We are from out of state. Our first time to try Taco Johns. We were not impressed. When we ask what comes on the super nachos the employee just gets a blank stare. "Uhhhh...chips, cheese and some other stuff" Really??!!?? You work here and don't know anything about the menu? After asking another employee we still didn't get the complete answer. Obviously the person making the nachos doesn't know either. Nothing we ordered looked like the pictures on the menu. The street tacos were skimpy on ingredients too. The only thing that we got that was close to the picture on the menu was the potato hashrounds. But....who thinks of hashbrowns when you think of Mexican food??? Employees are so busy talking and swearing in the back, they have a bell to ring at front counter. They are obviously too busy talking to clean dining room. The food is good quality for a drive thru. The service is atrocious for a business period. They don't get orders correct, the wait is on average, 8 minutes. This wasn't the case a year ago. For whatever reason, the food quality remains above average but the service continues to worsen. The service times were +/- 2 minutes a year ago, and those keep climbing as well. It's a shame. If they would apply the customer service principles I'm sure corporate requires and cut down their service times, they'd be an excellent choice. read more

The food tastes fresh and is better than any competitive offerings from Taco Bell. What I can't get over the last 4 times at the drive thru is the speed. We live in Sheridan, Wy. Taco John's used to be our favorite fast food. That has changed. The drive-thru order accuracy is poor at best. Bringing the error to their attention is an insult to this staff. Very poor management skills for handling customers. We believe the animals are running the zoo. No management appears to either be on hand, or care to be bothered with customers. Maybe close the food service and open up as restaurant cleanliness support. We are from out of town and its late thought we would try it out and what a mistake that was. We went through the drive thru and took it back to our hotel not even two minutes away. By the time we made it to the room all the food was cold the boneless wings were soggy and disgusting. Even the ice was completely melted in our ICED teas. I live in Sheridan area and have tried this restaurant every six months or so and have found it to be worse every time we try it! Saturday we were and almost every table was dirty, and we were the only ones in there at the time. I ordered a chicken sandwich and got two old dried luke warm pieces of chicken tenders on a bun. The fries were soggy and old too. Burger was hot and fresh though. Every time we eat here it's much more of a disappointment than not. We thought the owner of this franchise lived in the area. I have been to this Taco John's a few times. The food is always hit or miss. Last time I ordered a burger off their Good Times menu. The burger bun was completely cold and the burger was way overcooked. For a six dollar burger, you would think the quality would be a little bit better. Maybe this is the reason that all the taco John's in Montana do not have the GoodTimes burger addition to them. They need to stick to the tacos. This is the lowest rating I've ever given a restaurant on Yelp. Reason being is by far the slowest and most inaccurate Taco John's i've ever been to. I've grown up the Taco John's and ate a lot of locations. The consistency in the food quality is usually point on no matter what store you're dining in. So that leaves only one thing that must be wrong. Management has no follow-through and apparently no training. For a chain started in Wyoming you would think that their stores that are so close to the home office would execute perfectly. I will never eat at Taco John's in Sheridan again. Save your money if you're craving Taco John's and wait for Billings going north or Chyenne going south. read more
