As a taco johns loyalist I think this may have been my last straw. I ordered 4 soft shell tacos, a stuffed grilled taco with no sour cream and a large Peps. I was the only one in the drive through and my food came out after 2 minutes at the window. I noticed I got hard shell instead of soft but it's whatever. I didn't say anything because it's a small preference thing. But then I sat in my car went through a few songs so 6-9 minutes waiting on my drink. It wasn't until someone else came through the drive in that they noticed me. Ridiculous but its whatever could've just forgotten and was busy. But then I got home to eat my food and I got sour cream in my grilled taco. How do you fuck up every single thing? read more

I love taco John's. I still work at a taco John's in Mountain Home Idaho in the 80s. The food is always great. The place is clean. There are a few flies though. I wish there was a taco John's in San Antonio, Texas. read more

My husband and I were driving from Salt Lake to Iowa and we decided to stop in Laramie for the night. We ordered our food at 9 pm. They close at 10. The wait staff was pleasant and social. She read our order back to us which was two super potato oles. We waited a bit for our food even with being the only car in drive thru. Our hotel was within five minutes of the restaurant. Upon inspection, our food was not edible. The oles we were given were so hard that the plastic forks couldn't penetrate them. The taste was less than delicious. I was very disappointed in Taco John's. I did try to relate the info to corporate but no contact info could be found. My lesson here is to not order food at this chain so late in the day. Clearly they just gave us all the old food that they had left in the warmers. :( read more

I haven't had Taco John's in ages. I drove a ways off the highway to get lunch. Eating inside. The food was cold, to the point it couldn't even melt the cheese. The burrito I got was just beans and lettuce at the very end a glob of sour cream. It was hard to find any meat in it. The mexi-fries were under cooked. The bean burrito was cold, and the beans looked to be weeks old. It was 1:20 in the afternoon on a Friday. It will be a hard pass going forward for this chain. read more

Coming from CO, I thought for sure the food at this location would be better than my favorite in the Denver area - I mean, this is the home state of the chain, right? WRONG! food tasted old, burrito was about 1/2 the size i usually get and tasted HORRIBLE - I didn't even finish it! Also, the soda was disgusting - I had to throw it away. This is a must stop every time we come to Laramie. We grew up here and a six pack and a pound is a must. Tacos are always fresh made and hot, as are the potato oles. Don't for get the sides of nacho cheese for dipping the oles. Also this is one of the few fast food places left that still brews tea fresh!!! We ate her twice on our last trip. Taco Juan's is pretty popular across Colorado. I was expecting it to taste like Taco Bell (one of my least favorites), but I was pleasantly surprised. I got the standard crispy tacos (two of them) and my dad got the super burrito with ground beef, beans, salsa, cheese, sour cream, and olives (unlike the cafeteria beef seen at some of the Mexican restaurants in town here). He would come back occasionally if I had to stay late at school. I was a little disappointed that I hadn't tried the taco salad. We thought we'd give this place a try since it's pretty hard to mess up tacos but they succeeded! We ordered 2 two taco meals and when I found the tacos under the two large cups of potato oles, I thought there was just one thin taco. There were four but they were basically sauced smashed shells with maybe a teaspoon of meat and cheese and barely any lettuce. If we didn't have the potato oles, we would have gone hungry. Fast food "mexican" similar to other fast food chains. Food was fine, I liked the salsa bar.

The food here is something awful. I don't know how anyone eats the tots drowned in the awful seasoning, tastes like liquid salt. The entrees are not better. Thrown together using low quality ingredients. Would give them zero stars if possible. read more

Potato Oles + nacho cheese dipping sauce = pure win I'll always have a #3 medium size with nacho cheese on the side. Fast service, never a wrong order, just a bit too expensive to visit very often. Yes, its cheap food, but Taco Bell offers similar quality/quantity just right across the street for less money. Their drive thru is a tight fit. Very similar to Taco Bell, which is actually right across the street. Good wanna-be Mexican fast food. Their chicken is much better then Taco Bell's. When you order a combo you will get the potato's oles (similar to tater tots) instead of fries. They are really good. Specially when they put them in burritos or tacos. Overall their food is good, cheap, and fast. What i really enjoy are the lemon juice packets, nice touch. Not bad for a company that started in 1968 with one restaurant in Cheyenne, WY. read more

We went to taco John's this morning and the person that took our order couldn't get the order right at the drive through and food was cold and the burritos had half an onion in them and the tacos were worse and the food was just awful ! Being from California I am simply not accustomed to a Taco Johns, so I basically compared it to Taco Bell. Which I am a huge fan of. I will say that the service was nice. Our cashier was very helpful with all my interesting questions as to why they have potato disks. I had also tried them and they were pretty good, salty but I suppose that's how a fast food restaurant works. I was super disappointed in my nachos though. I had added chicken which was a dollar or so more, and the amount of chicken I received was just not worth it. I could have gotten more nachos for my buck at Taco Bell. Overall I had an okay visit. I don't play on going again anytime soon, or at least when there's a Taco Bell across the street. Sorry Taco Johns I am just a Taco Bell girl! read more

Pretty dang good for a fast food Mexican food chain! The potato oles are DANGEROUS - they are so good. The regular crunchy tacos are my favorite. Not sure if it's just the area that this is from or what, but being from California, this is hands down the worst Mexican food or taco I have ever had. I've had better in school cafeteria. Taco John's was my first experience in Mexican food in about 1970; I fell in love and have been a huge fan since then. Only 2 in Denver metro area now, but every time I'm in Laramie, I try and get there for the Potato Oles! Yummy with a side of nacho cheese. read more
