Went thru drive thru we got 2 bean cheese rice burritos, quesadilla and tater tots. Drove 3 miles burritos were cold no rice in 1 burrito, the tater tots had spilled in bag and the cheese quesadilla tasted terrible. read more

Food was straight booty, but it was all excusable until I found out Taco John was not in fact at the restaurant.

Take out failure. My wife picked up a chicken Taco salad and burrito bowl. She asked for no cheese/sour cream on the bowl. When she arrived home (40 miles away) we opened our meals. Her bowl had nothing but beans and lettuce, and my taco salad had a huge bubble in the taco shell bowl leaving room for less than 1/2 cup of filling and containing no meat, cheese, or dressing. We called the restaurant and spoke with the manager, who asked us to bring our meals back for replacement. When we explained we lived 40 miles away, he suggested that he'd write down her name for a credit on a future visit. After expressing skepticism about that approach, the manager took our address and promised to send coupons to replace our meals. That was six weeks ago. No coupons have arrived. read more

The service at this TJ's is painstakingly slow. I'm not sure if they're understaffed or poorly trained, but whatever the issue, I can't be bothered to stop there any more. The drive through is more like the parking lot. Taco Bell is just down the street and I'll forgo the Potato Oles to avoid sitting in the drive through for 15 minutes. Again, my favorite restaurant messing up. Really? Very specifically ordered a taco without sauce. It came with a sticker that said Special. First bite was soon delicious and then surprise! Sauce throughout! Gross. Close to being ill,I went to the counter and explained and was told there's no sauce on that. So had to open it and show them. The girl says do you want me to make a new one? Then proceeds to finish a couple other orders. My son was almost done eating when I got back to the table. No apology. Just "here is your taco worth no sauce " Please Taco Johns hire better because your food cooked right and a good staff is perfection. The drive through speakerphone was barely audible. Service 10 minutes even though we were only ones. Told they'd already thrown out ice tea for the night (1 1/2 hours before closing). No fork with refried beans. Worst of all I ordered 3 pork carnitas and all 3 had different content and size. One had no meat at all, and one (only 1) had a jalapeño that burned my mouth and stomach. I think this is a typical fast food franchise situation where the employees and/or manager are trying to sabotage the owner by driving away customers. We are not from Cloquet, but that's my guess given other poor review earlier today. UPDATES: 05/03/17 (Approx): Someone from Yelp, labeled as the owner, messaged me directing me to lodge my complaint at Taco John's national headquarters. 05/09/17: After forwarding all the complaints on Yelp to the actual owner, he replied simply stating, "Thank you for the information." 08/07/17: Given the amount of similar complaints, this information was forwarded to the MN Department of Health. The relevant Minnesota health code: 4626.0430 3-601.12 HONESTLY PRESENTED. A. Food shall be offered for human consumption in a way that does not mislead or misinform the consumer. B. Food or color additives, colored overwraps, or lights shall not be used to misrepresent the true appearance, color, or quality of food. read more

I love taco John's and I'm obsessed with these tacos but I swear every time I go to THIS taco John's they always mess up my order! There's only high school kids working in there and never a manager, and it's slower than molasses! They have no idea what they're doing here and I'd recommend you go to a different taco John's... very disappointing and won't be going back read more

Love this place. Love steak escape and taco combos. Last time going there they were busy and our order took a bit longer than they expected. I was fine with it, but they tossed in a few things for free to make up for it. Nice guys. read more

This location of taco johns is literally the worst. The service is slow. The staff is unpleasant. The house keeping is lacking. And the grease..... Several times I've ordered taCos there and the taco "meat" is literally sweating grease onto the wax paper condom that is the wrapper it's like a sad fat mans rainy day of shame and disgust. I'll never order from there again it's happened too many times. read more

this is my first and last experience here!!! the food was horrible!! when i bit in to my burrito i got frozen chicken! frozen chicken! they didn't even try my quesadilla tasted like spoiled cheese. nasty food. i warn you dont eat here. the tator tots tasted like garbage they were cold and were hard to bight into.
