Mario was a pleasure to deal with and to speak to and he introduced me to Patadas. I'd never heard of 'em. I think it was a pair of tortillas filled with meat and some onions and cilantro topped with cheese that all melts around it and generally helps it keep it shape. That's a guess. I can't say for certain that my description's right but I can confirm it was delicious!! It was a wonderful reminder of one of the things I dearly love about my home and a delightful final meal in Oklahoma.

Because the brisket and pulled pork were so good, I went back last night as a birthday treat and ordered the 2-meat platter with just those meats. Unfortunately, it was a totally different experience. The brisket was overcooked and dry, and the pulled pork was mostly small, dry chunks of bark instead of the juicy, tender pork I had the first time. On top of that, the portions were about the same size as what came in the sampler, which was disappointing considering you get 5 meats with the platter. I really wanted this visit to be just as good as the first because that first meal set the bar so high. They were pretty busy so maybe that impacted the quality of meat I got, but I was pretty bummed out, especially at these prices. I'd be willing to give them a third chance someday, but for now I'll probably be checking out a different BBQ spot.
