Taco Burrito King is not really an authentic joint in my opinion, but they certainly do try. They lack several Mexican meat favorites so you don't get many choices. Also the inside needed some cleaning. As for the food, we ordered a torta de Milanesa and carne asada nachos. Both were really tasty and wouldn't hesitate to order them again. Milanesa torta came with breaded steak, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream. Their nachos were topped with nacho cheese, covered with jalapeños, guacamole tomatoes and sour cream all side by side. I never seen it served like this and perhaps makes it a little difficult to get a little bit of everything with every bite, unless you mix it up you're self. TBK isn't a bad place to come to late at night after a few or 12 beers, since they're open til 2am. Will start coming here more often. read more

Four Stars for those many a nights you provided some substance in my stomach after a long night/morning or over indulgence. Easy Mexican grub, far from close to extravagant, quick, and you probably spent more going out then ending up here! Nachos, burritos, tacos, and the usual suspects can be had here or to go. Don't expect anything thing here spicy and unfortunately all salsas are mild to medium. Ignore the people complaining about bad service during a pandemic! We order from TBK often because of their monthly/weekly deals and because the food always arrives fast and well-prepared. One star deducted: the cashier was pretty (that is about it)...no change?!?! Poor cooks had to exchange change from their own pockets Two stars deducted: pretty cashier got everyone's order messed up. There was a young mother w her two kids who were already waiting for their orders before another couple and me and my hubby came in. WHY did the couple ahead of me get their orders before the poor mom and her 2 kids?! There is no such thing as a night out that doesn't include going to Taco Burrito King. We typically go to this one because it's open until silly o'clock in the morning, it's never too crowded like The Wiener's Circle, and there's always security in the unlikely event of some nutty Texan suddenly remembering the Alamo. I don't eat meat, but their veggie burritos are tasty enough to remind me why I choose not to eat pigs or cows. I always get mine with rice for 45 cents extra. If the generous cook is on the grill that night, I'll end up with a chunk the size of a football guaranteed to suppress my appetite until the next cicada hatching. I can't speak on the entire menu as I've only had the veggie burrito, but this isn't really the place you'd want to sit down for an hour and get the Mexican food experience. It's a place you go after a night of (responsible) drinking laughing about all the funny things that happened that night, and maybe asking for a sip of your friend's horchata. read more

OMFG... Perfect burrito. Need I say... American burrito? Thoroughly enjoyable from end to end. The most important part of this review is what I saw while it was being made. I actually commented to the cook and manager about it. The floor was spotless. The griddle was spotless and well maintained. The place had no smell No grease trap smell. No sewer smell. No hours of cooking smudge smell (like so many other places). This told me that these guys had their act together. And they were cooking my food in this immaculate kitchen. I watched the line cook work his two spatulas like I used to when I was a line cook at Denny's decades ago. With a precision of a skilled craftsman. Fast, accurate and styled. After many years of my life working on a cook line, watching this guy in this well maintained kitchen gave me such excitement to eat their food. This is a rare thing for me. Blew me away in eveyr aspect for a burrito/taco place. Service, cleanliness and product were perfect for a walk up counter business. Of course its not Maya Del Sol. Taco Burrito King has awesome specials (check the computer monitor for 'em when you order)- you'll get a heaping pile of food for cheap, and it's pretty tasty too for this kind of place. The green squirt bottles of hot sauce ROCK! This is pretty much the only option for late night junk food in the area too. I always thought the lights inside this place were crazy- they're just like those big fluorescent jobs we had hanging from the roof in my grade school gym. They're enormous, and only like 10 feet above your head- not exactly mood lighting. But once you realize the place is solar, the energy efficient lights make sense. So I cut 'em a break since solar power makes this place cool if you ask me. read more

Idk if it's TBK in general but it's horrible food. Not real Mexican food. I live enchiladas and every time they're super dry. Meat tastes old all the time. However I always get great service and it's pretty clean. When I've had to use the bathroom, it's always been clean thankfully. I recommend El Gordo instead. It seems unfair to review a chain, you should know the food is what it is. They have the same menus as other locations, although my preference is for a drive thru and beer too - like the Niles location. But this one is closest to me and serves up the tasty americanized nachos that I love, and the head sized burrito my husband can house. It's located in the middle of Polish Village, somewhat funny place to reside - but the place is clean, open late hours, and friendly. Here's the questionable one-star missing issue... the people that hang out there are scary. Not Halloween night scary, more drunk at 9am, kicked out of the house, going to steal your food when the order is up, scary. So maybe unless you're in a group, take your food to go. read more

I will admit that the only things I've had there are the ground beef burrito, as well as a bit of the enchiladas! Tasty. They also have amazing house salsa. Hot, but not too hot. They are open 24 hours as far as I know, and the guys who work in the kitchen and behind the register are pretty nice. Just dont ask them if they serve rice on their burritos. How sad am I! This used to be one of my go-to places for good, cheap Mexican but no more! They must be under new ownership- I hadn't been there for a while- and the food I received tonight was NOTHING like it used to be. Different, tasteless cheese, flabby tortillas, sparse tomatoes... I ordered a combination plate but couldn't get more than halfway through the taco- it was that bad! The beans were watery and the rice tasted like it had ketchup in it! Gah! My husband is a huge fan of Mexican food. We used to fight alot about take out. I would want Chinese, he Mexican. I couldn't stand the taste of Mexican food. I hated the taste of corn tortillas, cilantro, and the hotness of their version of "spicy" was completely foreign and wrong to me. My stomach would get queasy after a few bites, and the images from high school Spanish class of women patting the tortillas back and forth in their hands along a dirt road with rancid meat would instantly make me gag. I would only eat Mexican if it was prepared by someone that I knew, or if I could see what the kitchen looked like. My husband, on the other hand, would eat iMexican food at any hole in the wall...including from those guys who sell tamales in their Igloo coolers! I'm not treally sure what happened, but all of the sudden I started to love and crave Mexican food. My husband has TBK to thank for that! There are many reasons why I love TBK. 1.They have an open kitchen area where you can totally see everything that goes on behind the counter. It is so clean there! 2.It never smells funky, there isn't the stale air of grease or tortillas. 3.Their food is friggin good! The quality of their meat is also very good. Absolutely no bones or gristle in their chicken or steak! 4.They are open insane hours! I think that they are only closed for4 hours a day during the weekend! 5.This place is cheap, cheap!!! I know this is a chain restaurant but boy do i get random cravings for sum tbk (especially when im drunk =] ) Anyways their tacos are good, cheap, and filling. I am not a fan of tiny tacos that i can finish in 2 bites. Now let me talk about their rice. It is the best mexican rice that i've ever had. Its seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. If your drunk i recommend the super nachos. They're about $7 but it's best to split them with somebody. I have been coming here for 14 years and I have yet to have a bad meal or bad experience. This place used to be a small lil joint but they tore down and built up an enormous place for many to enjoy. The food is great!! always fresh, always tasty!! The employees are very nice and always greet me with welcoming smile! ( I HAVE been coming for a loong time) :0) I have had pretty much everything on the menu and again nothing has ever disappointed me. If you want good, cheap food this is the place to go. & the fact that they are open until the wee hours of the morning is also a huge plus!
