This is one of our favorite stops to visit when we're in town. The food is enjoyable and the ambiance is fun and relaxing at the same time. The restaurant was counter service when we visited. Nice place to grab food before or after a movie at Biltmore Park. Plenty of seating inside and on their good-sized patio. Service was excellent. We started with a small plate of taquitos. These were very good. The corn tortillas were nice and crispy. The tinga chicken and cotija cheese were tasty and fresh, with a nice variety of sauces on top (green chili sauce, salsa cruda and a crema). Pretty darn filling for an appetizer! We ordered 2 taco combos (one ala carte and the other with chips and salsa). The chips here are made in-house and they are really good and fresh, and the green salsa served with them was excellent. As far as the tacos go, it was more of a mixed story. The crispy avocado taco was definitely the highlight, in large part because of a really tasty Thai chili sauce. The birria beef taco and kimchi beef taco were both pretty good, but not great. The crispy firecracker shrimp taco was just okay. The shrimp itself was chewy and the firecracker sauce was not lit, so to speak. The best part was the rainbow slaw topping. If you want creative tacos, White Duck Tacos is probably a better bet, but this place is still pretty good, especially if you are combining it with a movie down the street. read more

My families & I new, go-to taco spot! We absolutely love it here! The chips & queso is sooo tasty, and we love getting the taco platter. Our favorite tacos so far have been the firecracker (spicy fried shrimp taco) & the kimchi beef! Also, the kids meal taco is $4 and comes with rice and beans. Can't beat that! Just drove by the restaurant looked to my left and decided that I wanted to try this restaurant called "Toco Boy". The Restaurant had a very nice large parking lot outside as parking is often difficult in this part of Asheville. The restaurant is not really fancy very family oriented. When you enter Taco Boy, you order at the bar. There is a station with silverware, napkins, hot sauce, & water although a friendly employee got this stuff for us! I had the veggie quesadilla. It was HUGE & filled with cauliflower, onions, corn, & black beans. It can be shared by 2 especially if you get the chips and salsa trio..plentiful chips & all 3 salsa were tasty! My husband got 2 tacos-the chicken tinga & chicken, bacon, ranch. He enjoyed CBR most. First off this is a sit down Mexican restaurant. Odd seating arrangements, if the tables are full the only seats left are the 10 person high tops. The food is very good, probably one of the best around. The downside is the added cost of almost everything. (The only reason for 4 stars) You want chips and salsa? $10 You want chips trio? $18 You want cheese on your taco? $2 each. Total for 2 with no alcohol was $75. For reference, white duck taco a few miles down the road for the same 6 shrimp tacos and chips with cheese is about $40. read more

We had so much fun eating here! Great atmosphere, excellent attendsnce by ourxserver who knew the contents of everything, and helped me figure out what to order for gluten free, dairy free, and my many other food sensitivities including histamines. I was a bit leary agreeing to try, but I was actually able to try so many more things than I'd have tried without anyone to ask! And the chef apparently knew, so changes and omissions were made so I was perfectlyvrrelaxed, not worrying. We had some wonderful fruity beverages - they were able to omit the lime on mine. I can't remember how many years it had been since I had a taco before our visit! The restaurant is so airy and roomy, good table spacing... felt like we were the only ones there, but there were many customers, including families. Just all around fun and relaxing. My husband and I decided to try out the new brunch menu at the Biltmore Park location one Saturday. We showed up right after opening, and were sat immediately. The vibe in this restaurant is great, the colors are bright and welcoming. We both ended up ordering the breakfast burrito and it was killer. I ordered mine with bacon and salsa verde, the cheese crust was so good! He got steak and the red salsa and really enjoyed it. He's a big Bloody Mary enthusiast and approved of their version of it. I ordered an espresso martini and was a bit surprised at how it was presented. At first, I thought they brought me just a coffee but the server confirmed that it was the ingredients for the espresso martini. It still tasted good, but I wouldn't call it an espresso martini. Otherwise, we throughly enjoyed our visit and want to go back for dinner one night! read more

This was my first time trying Taco Boy at the Biltmore Park location. I've been wanting to try the assortment of different tacos they offer. I came in for a late lunch and was the last of the lunch crowd which resulted in my food taking a while to prepare. I wasn't too disappointed given that a lot of people ordered right before me. As I waited for my food I got to enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant which I thought was beautifully styled inside. I liked all the windows that brought in natural light and the artwork. It felt like it was very homey. The restaurant was crowded when I got there and I grabbed a seat at the bar. I was disappointed that when my taco plate did come out the tacos were cold/lukewarm. I ordered a 3 taco plate which came with rice and beans. I ordered the carne asada taco, the grilled shrimp taco and the firecracker taco with roasted cauliflower. The carne asada was a little tough for me. I enjoyed the grilled shrimp taco but did not prefer the sauce on the firecracker taco however the roasted cauliflower was tasty. The highlight of the meal was the rice and beans. The beans had a nice flavor to them. I would come back but would try something slightly different and make sure it includes the grilled shrimp and rice and beans. read more

this location is consistently the worst taco boy i've ever been in, and i finally need to remember to stop going there. if you get stuck with aurora, please reconsider even placing a drink order unless you just enjoy sitting there being ignored with menus on the table for 20 minutes. she didn't come back to let us place an order for food until the two tables on either side of us (that came in after we were seated) were finishing their meals. read more

This review is for the Biltmore Park Location: My daughter and I went here today. This was my first time and her first time at this location. I want to start by saying the food was good. Everything we ate was hot and very tasty. They do have an up charge for flour tortillas which makes no sense. The service was the complete opposite of the food. The restaurant was not full or very busy. We waited for them to bus a table even though there were empty tables. No problem. We ordered drinks, that took a few min. Then we waited and waited for our order to be taken. We ordered two appetizers and also went ahead and ordered our tacos since it had taken so long for our order to be taken. A food runner brought all the food at once. Did not bring the trio appetizer we ordered. When our waiter appeared we told him we didn't get it. He said do you still want it. I just said if they haven't fixed it don't worry about it. He never came back to say if they had or had not. It was never mentioned again until we got the bill and it was still on there. We were never given refills on drinks nor were we asked. The drinks are $4 and I think that is worth more than a small glass full. When he first bought our ticket we noticed we had been charged for food we didn't receive. It took probably 10-15 min for him to come back. We told him he took it off on his computer and then just turned the screen around for us to sign. Never received another ticket. We had also asked for a box for our leftovers. He never brought it and then picked all our plates up so we just was like forget it. We had been finished eating for thirty minutes and just wanted to get out. I suggest maybe tru another location. Overall was a solid experience. Good overall vibes and ambiance. Service was on point and did not have to wait long for food or refills. Disappointed in the nuts they give you to start. Would prefer the classic chip. My partner and I each did the trio taco tray and they hit on 4/6 of them. Street corn was not the best as it was not traditional. Went to Taco Boy in Biltmore Square. The atmosphere was cool, liked the layout and design. We got tacos and queso and chips. The food was pretty good. The service was not great. Waitress didn't introduce herself . When she dropped off food she left before we could ask for an additional plate. Plate she brought was unclean but left before I could ask for another. Next time I caught her and asked for sour cream she left before I could finish talking (we hadn't gotten our chips and queso yet). When leaving there were 3 hostesses / greeters and none could be bothered to say goodbye or thanks for coming, etc. Ultimately poorly trained staff made this a less than pleasant experience. read more

First off let me say, I've been to this location multiple times and I've loved everything I tried. The food is great, the staff I've encountered has always been very pleasant and knowledgeable. My main issues with the restaurant and ambiance stem from my personal sensory issues. I visited this location near the end of June and it was in the low 80s outside around noon. I usually do not sit outside to eat during the summer because heat makes me uncomfortable. But the restaurant has nice, umbrella-covered seating for those that do enjoy that. The air inside the restaurant was incredibly stifling because there was no moving air, no fans, just lots of windows to flood the place with sunshine (which is pretty; I love the décor and how everything is set up) so I was uncomfortably warm. I'm sure they have air conditioning because the other people in my party had no issues. So if you have sensory issues with no moving air, this might not be the best choice mid afternoon in the summer or at all. My only other tiff was that I ordered the Taco Boy salad w/ carne asada (delicious!) and it came piled high on a plate that was too small to successfully toss my dressing and toppings. When I tried to toss the salad everything started falling off the plate. Portion was spot-on, but bigger plate please! read more
