I went here tonight after searching on my iPhone for a place that was open at 1:00AM and figured that a 4 star taco place had to have some pretty good food. How can a place that literally smells like shit on the inside get 4 stars?? No joke, it smells just like the inside of one of those blue porto potties inside Taco Boy. You could smell the familiar scent of that weird sanitary piss water as soon as you walked into the door and the sticky, mud covered floor. Let's forget about the ABSOLUTELY WASTED locals outside that made this a scary place to be at 1:00AM (though he kept telling me to "stay cool, bro!" as he kept slapping my hand, which I guess was nice). The tables are covered in disgusting food pieces and did I mention that it smells like shit in here? I got a burrito that feels like it's going to forcefully remove itself from my body shortly, from either the top end or the back end and it's not going to be pretty. My friend got a torta and he was none too pleased with it either. Taco Boy absolutely blows. Just thinking about the meal I ate right now that immediately gave me heartburn makes me want to throw up. First, if you're going to come here, make sure you're strapped. I saw a drugged up gangster asking for money outside of the location. The area is ghetto, I never realized Anaheim was THIS ghetto! So sketch! The location of this taco joint scares me. I probably wouldn't go by myself especially at night since it just seems to be filled with interesting characters. I've only tried the Chicken Tacos and the Carne Asada Tacos here. Both times, they were absolutely delicious. Ok... we all know that I have a thing for tacos by now. If you dont, I am honestly shocked! So I stroll into Taco Boy the other day after another yelper mentioned it in a string of good taco joints. I literally flipped a *(&^ err illegal U'ee to get here. In the end I am stoked that I did! Taco Boy, tucked away in a quiet street in mid-anaheim open 24 hours 7 days a week, proved to be just the thing to cap off yet another great drunkish work party. I had 2 tacos, chorizo + lengua, and a carnitas gordita. The deliciously street looking meats came on two-ply tortillas, which in turn came on what was like 5 plys of thin paper plates stacked together. I washed it all down with a cool creamy horchata, it was great and took me back to that one time in mehico when all was sun and oh so fun. Inside the restaurant there are many glossy wooden tables that are always clean and well maintained. There is only indoor seating and is child friendly. There are arcade machines that are sure to grab the kid's attention; who would pass an opportunity to play Marvel VS Capcon or Bust a Move? It is very well lit and has an illusion of being twice as big because all of the mirrors along the walls. Ordering is easy for the customers because of their newly remodeled display menu. There are not any available menus on hand, but the menu behind the counter is very clear. The size of the font is big and the prices are right next to them as well. Pictures are now displayed next to popular dishes making it simple to see the portion size to see if the plate is big enough to share. There are pictures of sopes, burritos, and platos de carnitas making it hard to choose. As for drinks, there are traditional Mexican drinks such as agua de tamarindo (tamarind), agua de jamaica (hibiscus), and the very popular agua de horchata. There are also soft drinks like Diet Coke, Sprite, and Sunkist if one does not feel like being so exotic. The best part is that they do not have a charge for refills. When it comes to customer service, the staff is really friendly. The cashier who takes the orders speaks English very well, so if one cannot speak Spanish, there is no problem.
