NOTE: No more Long John Silver's at this location. The closest location is in Hudson (Greenport). I've been stopping at this Taco Bell for many years since the place opened in the 1990s. Before Taco Bell, there was an old brick house on the site that housed Rexford's restaurant, which served great food. Located at the top of Morrison Ave, it's a great location because it's very close to Harvard On The Hudson (HVCC). I can remember those crazy lunch runs to/from here during my high school years, when things were very cool. I had to rush down here, get the food, and rush back. I used to consume my tacos and burritos in economics class, which was allowed by the "unnamed" teacher. Most of my other classmates would go to the Brunswick McDonald's on Hoosick Rd, but I preferred "ringing the bell." This place is also great for late night snacks too and I'd hit the drive thru before heading to the clubs with my crew. (http://www.tacobell.com) A few years ago, this location was remodeled and cobranded with Long John Silver's, which was on hiatus from the Capital District for several years. (http://www.longjohnsilvers.com) With the Bell and LJS under the same roof, this allows me to pick up lots of greasy battered fish, fries, hush puppies, slaw, soft tacos, bean burritos, and Mexican pizza all in the same order. Free refills on self serve Pepsi fountain drinks (dine-in), score!! The main reason I stop here now is explained below. Here's a cool idea, combine the soft tacos/or burritos (without beef) and the battered fish and you've got FISH TACOS, similar to Rubio's (minus the shredded cabbage & neat salsa bar). I've done this many times to recreate the tasty West Coast favorite. I could travel almost 3,000 miles to Cali for the "real thing," or take a short drive to "ring the bell" for battered FISH and TACOS and combine 'em!! Mmmm good!!

La Capital Tacos is the place to go for genuine street tacos in Troy. Every time I've gone the food…read morehas tasted fresh, and the tacos/burritos have been delicious. I can put down quite a bit of food so if I order the "three traditional tacos" then I'm usually left wanting just one more... so I typically go for the burrito to try and fill up a bit more. The chorizo is delicious and seasoned very well. The salsa verde that is served with each taco/burrito is also delicious. During winter they put up some "bubble" tents outside with heaters. They don't have much seating inside and if the restaurant is busy then you might be caught in a pickle... but I've been lucky enough to find a free table here reliably. I've been visited by out-of-state friends a few times and I typically introduce them to this restaurant (as one of my local favorites) and they usually love it.

I was so glad to have dinner there recently. Delicioso! My friend ordered the three steak taco dinner while I had the three chicken taco dinner. Then, we traded one. The tacos are served on small corn tortillas. It generally takes more than one taco to feel full. The steak tacos came with wonderful melted cheese and a beef dipping sauce. The chicken tacos came with salsa verde, plenty of cilantro and chopped up red onions. We each had a Margarita which are awesome, too. The staff is small but friendly and efficient. There isn't a lot of seating inside the restaurant. Just a few tables. Most of the seating is actually in the outdoor patio. In cold weather, large clear heated plastic bubbles or igloos are installed on the patio. Each holds a table and enough seating for several people. It's incredibly cute. There's even table service, but most people ordered take out and then walked over to eat in the bubbles. There's also parking on premises which makes the dining experience very convenient. We ate-in and had a blast. I look forward to coming back. They don't take reservations but guests are encouraged to call ahead to ask about seating.

There was a consistent steady flow of customers, eating in and picking up orders to go. On this frigid day I think that is a testament to the quality of the establishment. The decor inside is delightful, they have potted plants hanging from the ceiling with vines sprawling out, growing along strategically placed lines across the ceiling. Several playful piñatas are strewn about. It was a quiet, calm atmosphere. Even with the grills and ovens clearly cranking the dining room was chilled. Handmade signs are everywhere most in Spanish, with some English translations underneath. Laminated menus are also available. We waited what I thought was an appropriate time for our food, the items were brought out at separate times. One item completely forgotten, so we took it to-go. Fine though we were stuffed with what we had. We had ordered one steak and one shrimp taco (3 of each came out) definitely a miscommunication but sour cream on the side was noted and came on the side. We also enjoyed chips with a spicy green salsa, along with a voluptuous chicken quesadilla.

Every bite tasted homemade, not rushed or generic like big chains. The food was authentic, delicious, portions were huge, and the quality really stood out. On top of that, the people were kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do, which makes the experience even better. If you're looking to support a small business and enjoy amazing Mexican food, this place is definitely worth checking out. I'll absolutely be back. i could not take pictures due to me diving in the food as soon as it was ready . i recommend eating theere while food is hot

We had a reservation at 6pm and felt invisible when we walked in, just to be seated in a table 5 feet away. Maybe they were understaffed, but friendly staff could have gone a long way here. We started with cocktails and they were all good. We didn't really have opportunities to order more, so I only tried one. We started with the Fried Burrata and Caesar salad. The fried buratta was delicious but not enough bread, or a spoon served with it so most of the sauce went to waste. We loved the pesto on the dish. The Caesar salad was extremely underdressed and under seasoned. None of us enjoyed it. We then ordered entrees, I got the flat iron and they ordered the carbonara and the burger. The flat iron was ordered rare, and served blue. The steak and sauce on it was cold. I didn't complain because I didn't want to try and call her over, they did not check on us after the food was delivered. The sauce on it was okay but I think it took away from the flavor of the meat, very strong cumin and chili flavor, a little gritty. The fries were good and the broccolini was mushy and overcooked. The carbonara was also a miss, it was overly peppered and unpleasant to eat. This dish was ultimately sent back and we explained it was overly peppered and inedible, and she ordered something else. My friend who ordered the burger really enjoyed it and it looked great. The server was not accommodating at all and barely checked on us. We sent food back and the server just threw it away without a thought in the world, and it remained on the bill. At this point we just wanted to pay and leave. Bad service can ruin a night, and it put a damper on our girls night out. My photos came out impeccable, unfortunately most of it looked better than it tasted. I could look over bad service if the food was great, but when neither is, it's a hard pass from me.
