I asked for a spicier salsa and he definitely delivered! It was soooo good! I ordered grilled chicken breast with sautéed veggies. This came to the table quickly and was served with rice, refried beans, and for piping hot homemade tortillas. Everything was delicious, including the vegetables. I'm sorry but I didn't take pictures. The ambiance and decor needed a little TLC but the quality and flavor of the food more than made up four any shortcomings in the appearance of this little gem. Very mild salsa; the salsa picante has some heat. My wife had the lunch Chimichanga (chicken) with rice and beans. The Chimi was a little disappointing. The chicken filling was tasty, but it had not been fried long enough to get the flour tortilla good and crispy. Beans excellent. I went big, with the Carne Asada. Big it was. A plate full, of tender juicy marinated skirt steak, rice, beans, a little guacamole and the perfect garnish of a chili toreado and a grilled onion. Carne Asada served up right. This was the most steak that I have ever been served in an order of carne asada. Generous. It had to be a pound. It was delicious. Great place. Recommended.

Let me just say, I've been to almost 40 different states and a few countries trying tacos in many different places and yours , rank right at the top. They were amazing. The tortilla surrounded ONLY carnitas - no rice or beans or veggies as filler. The house frozen margarita was also excellent, and on inexpensive special during the weekdays. Upon moving to Arkansas, I've been on the search for a solid authentic Mexican restaurant to dine at. Tonight, my search ended. El Mariachi is absolutely amazing! Located on the south west side of Fort Smith, you get a combination of awesome tasting food, delicious drinks, a choice of different heat level salsas, and all at very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I had the street taco plate, with al pastor and carnitas meats with a side of refried beans and Mexican rice - which is all made fresh daily in house. I also tend to judge a Mexican restaurant very hard on the quality of their salsa. The regular salsa is tasty, if you ask for their tomatillo salsa, it is hotter and flavorful with a hint of chipotle pepper in the background, and for those brave enough to try it, the Diablo salsa has just the right amount of heat if eaten in small amounts. I also had a top shelf margarita, which for the price point they have it at was perfectly made and enjoyed. In the end, I had to try their flan. I will state, this is probably some of, if not The best flan I've ever eaten. If you are looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food in a comfortable restaurant setting, look no further and give them a try; you won't regret it!
