i've ordered door dash from this taco bell twice and both times they messed it up we order two deluxe boxes both with cinnamon twist and we only recieved one cinnamon twists with no cinnamon the beefy 5 layers had no nacho cheese sauce and they forgot our extra sauces and the tomatoes on one of the boxes and gave us chips and cheese which we did not order. read more

Have you ever wanted to work at a Taco Bell? Have you ever felt like receiving service is too fussy and unnecessary? This establishment is the place for you!! If you walk up to the counter to have your order taken, you will quickly discover that is not an option at this Taco Bell. No one will acknowledge your presence. No worries! You can take your own order at the digital kiosk without worry that your order will be rung up incorrectly. After that, you have the joy of cleaning the trash and crusty food off any of the dozen or so empty tables. You may have to go to the bathroom for paper towels as there may not be napkins in the lobby, nor any other materials for cleaning, but part of pretending to be an employee is also pretending to have the resources needed. Disappointingly, you don't get to actually make your own food and the order will probably be wrong. No worries! There is no supervisor or manager to be found, so you get to play as one and can negotiate, scold, reprimand, coach, persuade, or ignore the employees as you see fit. Order chicken, but get beef? (We did.) Feel free to work out your anger at the injustices of the world by screaming at the underpaid and under supervised workers. They'll probably quit next week, anyway. Once you receive your (probably wrong) order, you get to pull your own drinks. That's been standard for a while, so no surprise there. After your intestinal issue inducing meal, you get the option of cleaning up after yourself or leaving the mess for the next customer. I know it was selfish, but we cleaned up after ourselves. No worries - every other table was wrecked, so there were opportunities for other customers to pretend to work there. read more

Taco Bell - Literally just opened nachos - Fast Food Near Me - Penn Valley, California

I've given this location in PV many visits to change my experiences, but they keep getting worse... It's so close to home and convenient. I really want them to improve, but it seems like a management issue is going on currently. Our chalupa's were old and stale - some had no tomatoes and others barely any sour scream. We heard from the drive up window employees arguing with each other, as we waited 10 minutes. We got there as the only car in line, so after hearing at least four voices inside we couldn't figure out what the deal was...? Again, I do hope they correct everything as we used to like going here. However, at the current high prices customers deserve much better or at least decent quality. read more

I ordered two beef burritos and they gave me two bean burritos which I understand things happen so I went back around and waited another 20+ minutes because the drive-through is so slow and asked for my original order. They said they would fix it and since it was so hot I asked for a ice water which I do normally. I get to the window and they say I owe them .50 and I asked why since I have never paid for water before. So the girl who was nice at the register said one minute, and then came back and told me I have to pay for it so I said I didn't think I should have to pay for it since I didn't ask for a large water. This is where it gets interesting, the GM came to the window and told me I ordered a large water which I told her I didn't and then she proceeded to tell me I also ordered two bean burritos which I have never ordered in my life! So this is when I started to get irritated and told her that I just sat in line for 20+ min and then because the food was wrong I had to wait another 20+ min and I'm pretty patient so it didn't really bother me but when you tell me I have to pay 50 cents for a water when I said just give me a small that they should just do it not tell me I was in the wrong. I get they are understaffed and prob stressed out but don't take that out on me. So I asked the nice cash register girl if that was a manager and she said the general manager. Then another manager (I think from the outfit) comes and gives me a card and says if I have such a issue why don't I come in and work since they are understaffed in a very irritable way. Sorry I just wanted what I ordered, no wonder you guys are so understaffed with such irrational and aggressive management. Also they messed up my order the time before but I didn't complain cause it at least had meat in it so when I complained to my roommate he said the left half his order last time and said they would give him a complete order when he comes back and the apparently messed that one up also, lol. This is my favorite Taco Bell. I live in Chico and when I drive up to Tahoe I try and stop here if I'm hungry. Or even if I'm not that hungry. I like to get the Crunchwrap Supreme, but I swap out the nacho cheese and add some beans in its place. I don't have the heart to specify that the beans go between the soft and crunchy tortillas (where the nacho cheese normally goes), but most of the time they get it right. Even if the beans are in the main compartment, it's still okay. The people that work here are really friendly and the food comes out fresh pretty much every time. Even if its not the ultimate in freshness, you can tell they took the appropriate amount of time with it, given that it's fast food. The place (it shares a building with a gas station) has been under construction the last couple times I've been past, but I just wanted to put a note somewhere that this Taco Bell is where it's at. I like using the Taco Bell app, I order ahead of time, pay via the app and drive through, giving my name and telling them that this is a pick up. Using the app keeps the order accurate, you can make customizations, select drinks and sizes. Easy! Why 4 stars? The food is good but, as others commented, they are VERY slow. Even with a pre-ordered pickup, they waited until I arrived to assemble it (we told them the time of pickup on the app). I've always been treated well here and I really appreciate the Covid protections. Maybe management just needs to hire more employees? read more

Shrinkflation and inflation has struck this place. It struck it so hard the prices of their burritos went up 50% and the ingredients went down 50%. Not to mention they are selling abominations as if they are the normal item. If I pay $3.99 for a beefy 5 layer burrito it better have 2 tortillas with cheese between and beef, sour cream, cheese and beans in the center. Not 1 tortilla with only beef, beans and cheese (like the last 2 times I've gone.) I do not recommend this place at all. Every time I stop by this Taco Bell they mess up my order. I stopped by recently and order 6 items and was shorted 3 tacos. Partially my fault for not checking before driving away. I ended up stopping in the front and going in to get the missing food. I told them What I was missing and the girl said she would fix it. Last night I went through around 1050 PM. I get the same thing everytime for me and my kids. 3 bean and cheese burritos, no onion, no red sauce, and extra sour cream. And for myself I get 2 beefy 5 later burritos with extra nacho cheese and extra sour cream. They said there would be a 12 minute wait time on beef and I said that was no problem. We just wanted some late night snacks. Pulled up to the window, they ran my card and I asked them if they wanted me to pull forward cuz of the wait time. The girl said no, that it wouldn't be a problem. A minute later out comes the food. I was impressed with how fast it was. I thanked them and drove home. Kids got their burritos. I pulled mine out to be only bean, chz, sour cream and nacho cheese. So I got charged for beef but no beef! I called them but no answer. Just super confused as for why I said I was ok with the wait time, I offered to pull up to help save their drive thru times (I managed fast food for 5 years,) they told me no that it wasn't necessary, only to be charged for a product that wasn't in my food. Today is he fourth day that they reopened and it's the 4 day of no power in the area! I called in to confirm they had power and they had generators pulled in! This Taco Bell is inside of the PV Shell station. It also has a drive thru, which is very nice. Considering that this is the only fast food restaurant in Penn Valley, one may think that the customer service can be kinda lax since it is the only option and we all know the saying that "beggars can't be choosers". My order at TB is always the same, but it is custom. I always get a Mexican pizza shell, topped with their 3 cheese blend, and then have them put it in the steamer to melt the cheese. Super simple and super good. The employees there always remember exactly how I want it and never mess it up (you would be surprised about how many people mess it up). The counter help and most of the food line prep people are generally always nice. The only exception is a dark haired young shift leader who speaks to other employees in a really rude way. She has yelled and spoken down to other people working under her. It's unfortunate because 1. It's not right 2. It makes customers uncomfortable. 3. It's illegal. The only other downfall is that it is inside a gas station and does not have separate area for just taco bell like most gas stations with chain restaurants have. They have 1 or 2 tables set up in the back of the gas station to eat at. read more

Taco Bell is my standard for on-the-go food. This one happens to be right in my regular path of travel. It's cool because you can drive through. Eat in (its a gas station, so don't eat in--the tables are gross). Eat out. There is a lovely little picnic area with a creek and big trees behind. I chose this Taco Bell to do a review on even though the one in town in a lot closer, I go to this one in Penn Valley. This one is nicknamed Taco Shell, even by local law enforcement. I know all of the restaurants are supposed to be the same since they all get the pre-made food from the same locations, but, this location the food is always outstanding! I was joking with the register lady one day about it and she said that they make their food with love!!!! What a wonderful attitude!! I just moved to rough and ready a few weeks ago, and one of the only fast food restaurants close to my home is taco bell inside the shell gas station. I am completely disgusted how the general manager acts towards her employees, sexually harassing them, and being very vulgar and sexual in language, I have saw so many employees come and go already, I asked one of the cashiers is she always like tis, she replied yes. it is wrong for her t be able to treat people like that, I don't even think someone like her should be managing a food place. she is always rude, yelling, and nit picking at the employee's while im there. she as too much of a power trip I guess Is what you would call it. im ready to file complaints with calworks, and taco bell corporate or franchise which ever complies with this location. this is unacceptable and should be delt with, I can not believe the owner of tis store lets this sort of behavior go on read more
