You order your meal, pay the bill, get a number placard, and then you take a seat at an open table. The staff delivers the food. At first, we kind of raised our eyebrows, but then realized this was an efficient way to move both take out and sit down customer quickly through the ordering process. I was impressed at how well the Don Chepe team worked together. When the servers were not taking orders, preparing and delivering food, they were cleaning tables, counters tops, and sweeping floors. The restaurant was clean, tidy, and we loved the ambiance of the seating area. My wife ordered a Taco and a Tamale, I ordered a Steak Tortas Deluxe, Chips, Guacamole, and Salsa. The wife loved the taco, tamale, and the chips. She said that the chips were the best ever. I have to agree. Five Star. The Tortas Deluxe included steak, ham, cheese, jalapenos, avocado, lettuce, and tomato. The first time that I've had a Tortas, and it was very good. The bun was a bit dry/flaky for me. Four stars. You order at the counter and the food was ready very quickly and brought to me at my table with both a roasted and green salsa bottle. Very nice because of always ask if they have them if they had not brought them. I ordered a 1/2 order of chicken enchiladas in green sauce which came with rice and beans. Generous portion for a 1/2 order. I also ordered a steak taco Mexican style on corn. Everything was very good and I also thought it was nice that they make their refried beans using Northern beans. Something I really like and have only found at one other Mexican restaurant in our area.
