The lettuce was super crisp and fresh. Meats were tender juicy and flavorful. Everything really hit, very similar to a California-style burrito. We got a carafe of the Barrons Margarita and our server nicely let us pick which rim we wanted (plain, salt, sugar, tajin). My friend ordered the Carnita Street Tacos. I liked that you could order whatever quantity you wanted rather than needing to get a meal. My husband and I shared the Quesadilla Loca with ground beef. It came with two side options so we got Fried Plantains and Refried Beans. The portion was huge and came with their queso to enjoy with your meal. Had a strawberry margarita that the bartender went around the rear of the bar to make. Weird but it tasted pretty good. The bartenders/servers were all friendly but not especially helpful. Just kept saying everything is good. Everything is good. Went basic n got small queso and a chicken quesadilla. My girl got a fajita, tamale, n rice n beans. Pretty good chips for the queso. Quesadilla was ok. My girl raved over the tamales n she even ordered a few to go. So ordered another round while we wait. Now this margarita tasted like straight margarita mix. Yuck. I was straight sober after 2. Later that evening my girl texts me she been on the toilet all evening. Change of shift comes and the bartenders mention happy hr. No mention of this when we arrived or anything. I didn't see anything on the menu about it or their website. I didn't order anything else at that point. New bartender that comes in around 3, not so friendly and puts reserved signs at the bar to save seats for her girls. Never seen this at a Mexican restaurant before but whatever. She seemed to go out of her way to NOT be friendly. Counted as a one off til I went back a few more times. Same bartender complaining about folks coming in an hour before closing, still unfriendly. Still for me, the food is just eh. Maybe its just the chicken that's not great because my man came n enjoyed some quesabirria tacos while I picked at a chicken taco. Don't recommend the margarita unless u pay extra for freshly made or better yet wait for Fronteras Mexican restaurant to open back up. I like friendly bartenders n good chicken. Average here.
