At first, I selected beef, but when asked about ground or steak, I rethought and went with the pork. Carnitas is a wise choice here. As I waited, I heard another customer exclaim that the chicken today was the best he had ever had there, and he has been there many times. And don't fill up on the chips. Not that they aren't good, for they are. The salsas are homemade and delicious. But you don't want to be too full for your lunch. This is not a place where you will receive a plate the size of a small turkey platter. It looks human scale, with tacos in holders nestled next to rice and beans. The tacos were perfect. But it was the beans that blew me away. (I am a bean freak - love them) Not a pale beige smear, not covered within an inch of its life with cheese. No sour cream in sight. Just honest beans, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Not greasy, without that oily mouth feel. I asked the waiter, who I believe was one of the owners.
