Reminiscent of a recent trip to Mexico City...the food here delivers incredibly flavorful dishes!…read more I was surprised to find such a gem in Glen Cove! The guacamole was excellent. I had the carnitas bowl and it was delicious! There's a flavor profile that I only recall experiencing in Mexico City. I'm visiting from Southern California and we have great Mexican food but this tops it! We also got the salmon bowl where we substituted chicken for an extra charge and it was excellent! This will be on every trip from now on!

However, when I called the store, I was able to get a reservation right away. I expected it to be packed, but when we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, there was only one person in the dining area and two at the bar. We ordered a Corona, a lemonade, an apple juice, and a coconut margarita. The margarita was very small for the price and didn't have much coconut flavor. For dinner, we had the fajitas, a steak bowl, three cheese quesadilla for the kids, and the chorizo-loaded fries. The fries were the only thing I actually enjoyed. The fajitas and steak bowl lacked authentic flavor, and for $50, the platter only had three shrimp and a few pieces of steak and chicken buried under a huge pile of peppers and onions. To top it off, we waited 10 minutes for the churros after asking to sing 'Happy Birthday' to my daughter. For $250, this experience was definitely not worth it, and we won't be returning.

Their steak is always perfectly cooked, medium rare, juicy most and packed with flavor. All of their meat options are absolutely delicious. They are limited on the sauces they provide but I am so happy they are consistent throughout. I've had their burritos, their wings, their enchiladas their chicken you name it. You will always see me here as this will remain one of my consistent places to dine in or for take out.

The nachos stood out as an example -- square pieces of muenster cheese, one per chip. The burrito lacked flavor, and the meat was undercooked, and the bean soup was bland. The meal included refried beans and rice, though the rice was on the dry side. Overall, everything felt subpar for the price -- $70 for this quality felt steep. I'd hoped to support a local business, but I won't be returning here.

I don't know about others, but it's been a real challenge for me to eat healthy during Rona times…read more After noticing my expanding waistline with dismay I decided to change things up a bit and took to Yelp for healthy alternatives. I found it's no easy task to find fresh vegan food in these parts, let alone places that deliver throughout Nassau and Western Suffolk counties as does Conscious Kitchen LI. So I was very happy to stumble upon CKLI's pics of beautiful fresh veggie concoctions on Instagram, perused their weekly online menu and placed an order via their secure website (note: currently CKLI is a delivery only biz, no eat-in facilities). Food is made from scratch, locally sourced and organic. For my first delivery I got: 1) weekly special salad - microgreens, chick peas, beets, asparagus, strawberries, almonds and other goodies with miso dressing on the side; 2) Falafel Hummus Wrap; 3) Thai Butternut Squash Soup; 4) Pasta Fagioli Soup; 5) Green and Red Juices. My food was delivered on time, nicely packaged in compostable containers. I enjoyed everything I ordered and portions were pretty good, especially the pristinely fresh salad which weighed in at 16 oz. Fresh squeezed juices were especially delicious, housed in cute glass bottles that one can exchange at the next order drop-off. Soups were more like stews, thick, hearty and well spiced with fresh herbs. CKLI is a small biz that delivers locally (0-5 miles from Glen Cove) from 5-6:30PM, and 5+ miles away from 6:30-8PM. I fall into the latter area and got my food at 6:30. Delivery is flat rate $5 Glen Cove local and $6 for other LI towns, not bad if you're placing a robust order. For now my cheeseburger-addicted hubbie took a pass on these vegan vittles, but I'm still hoping he'll try something from my next CKLI deliver lol. Whether you're a dedicated vegan or just looking for a fresh healthy alternative to the usual oily caloric takeout fare, you may want to give Conscious Kitchen LI a try.

Maybe not close, north shore food is... not generally as good as they charge. I don't want to disenfranchise anyones business; everyone has bad days and so do restaurants, I just hope they pay attention to their reviews and take one like this into consideration. - The cilantro on my tacos was literally deteriorating. It was not fresh. Tacos came with lime wedges, and even the limes looked past their time and ready for the trash. Dry and juice free. - the flavor of the rice and the beans was insultingly bad. Not sure how one can mess up rice and beans, especially if they are serving them in a MEXICAN RESTAURANT. - my baby is sick, so we got chicken soup. Boy, did someone spill the salt shaker into the pot? My takeaway was: is anyone actually tasting this food before they serve it to humans? Are all the people leaving positive reviews smoking dope?
