This offer is good while supplies last. The last time I've been here was when Taco Bell brought back the enchirito. That enchirito was gross and did not look like the enchirito back over 50 years ago. It even tasted terrible (2 stars). Moving forward and seeing the illustration of the cantina chicken bowl, it looked similar to the grilled chicken bowl from another fast food chain - Chipotle. The cantina chicken bowl at Taco Bell consists of "a bowl filled with slow-roasted chicken, seasoned rice, black beans, Avocado Ranch sauce, reduced fat sour cream, lettuce, shredded purple cabbage, freshly prepared de gallo, guacamole and cheddar cheese." (Quoted statement is Taco Bell's description). An Avocado Verde salsa packet is included. Cost: $9.40 (tax included). Good value for what Taco Bell offered. (3.5 stars) Focusing on Chipotle's grilled chicken bowl, one has a choice of either white or brown rice and several items as mentioned above, except the guacamole is an extra $2.65. Add that to the cost of a grilled chicken bowl ($12.10) and a 10.75% tax, cost is about $16.78. (2.5 stars for the value). I placed my order using the touch screen at the front counter. Apparently the order did not go through, but an employee went ahead and took care of my order and sent me along my merry way. Came here to try out some of the new menu items: Cantina Grilled Chicken Quesadilla- $6.99 It was nice to get the somewhat spicy guacamole and sour cream on the side. But otherwise, personally, I'd go back to the OG Chicken Quesadilla. I love the chipotle sauce included in it and the extra toasted factor. This quesadilla came out like their grilled cheese burrito with melted cheese on the outside of their tortilla. Unfortunately, they did not melt the entire item long enough because when I pulled it apart it had unmelted cold cheese inside. Overall, this location needs to not rush. This restaurant has been here since (probably) the 1980's. It's sitting on the site of the old Skippy Peanut Butter plant. This Taco Bell has been remodeled a few times. I was there last night, and the drive-thru line was 10-12 cars long. I usually go thru the drive-thru. It's always quick and the line moves at a steady pace. The recently added dual menu boards to handle more orders. I usually order crunchy tacos, nachos and/or the mexican pizza. Service is always polite and efficient. They don't stress about sauces or extras. I have been to this Taco Bell probably over 100 times. Located on Webster St, next to the Walgreens. Totally remodeled Taco Bell in Alameda, my hometown! It's been years since I've been to this Taco Bell! What a face lift! Very spacious but not a lot of tables such a big place. Looks like they don't want you to stick around. We just happen to be in the area and came here for a quick bite before heading home. Food is ordered on a big computer screen and food came out quick. The food came out with pretty good amount of ingredients so I was happy. Lots of the other Taco Bell's places, the staff always gip you on the ingredients. Not cool! I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience today at this place. The employee named Luz was extremely rude and unprofessional from the moment I arrived. I don't know what had happened before my arrival that she acted like that. She spoke to me with hostility and disrespect, and her attitude was completely unacceptable. I have taken video that i will post on social media platforms if i don't hear from the supervisor or the owner. No customer should ever be treated the way I was treated. Her behavior was disgusting, and it made me feel very uncomfortable. I expected basic courtesy and professionalism, but instead I was met with unnecessary attitude and hostility. The employees here move hella slow. Pretty ironic since it's a fast food place. There was no line in the drive through and barely anyone in the store. I placed a mobile order for 2 items, went into the store after 10 mins and the order wasn't made yet. The employees saw me be didnt say anything, instead attended to 2 door dashers and 4 other customers. They don't greet any customers that come in, they just act like no one is at the front. This place consistently gets your order incorrect, whether you're ordering through their app, or through drive-thru, or even in person. Tried it all. They consistently leave out items or flat out give you the wrong item. And when you go back to try to correct or fix things, you get blasted with attitude. I've loved Taco Bell for the last 40 years! The one here in Alameda for over 10 years was one of the best. In the last 2 years, they've doubled their prices and the portions are about a third the size of what they once were. Greedy! Ordered six burritos today. Three cheesy steak burritos and three steak Chipotle burritos. I understand they're not going to be the size of the commercial but these things were smaller then street tacos. The cheesy steak burrito only had six tiny little pieces of steak, a smidgen of white sauce which I assume is sour cream and rice. Absolutely no cheese. TINY TINY TINY! My 8 and 11-year-old each ate three and still wanted dessert. $24 for only two kids and they're still hungry!??? It's essentially like buying six plain tortillas for $24! Taco Bell simplified their menu and got rid of the lowly Tostada. They also got rid of the Spicy Tostada. Wasn't there also a Double Tostada at one time? The stated objective was to simplify their menu. Which was also the reason given to dump the Mexican Pizza. No longer a reason to stock Tostada Shells. There was a time when the Taco and the Tostada were the bread and butter of Taco Bell. Yes, there was also the Enchirito, Bell Beefer, Frijoles, and of course, the Burrito's - Bean, Beef and Combo. Later came the Burrito Supreme and Beefy Tostada. Remember that? Corn Tortilla, Beans, Beef, Sauce, Sour Cream, Lettuce, Cheese, Tomato and one slice of Olive. Fast forward and the Mexican Pizza has returned. Love it or hate it. It is what it is. Which leads me to say, bring back the Tostada! The only reason that I can see to not bring it back is packaging cost. Back in the day, the lowly tostada was slid into a paper sleeve. With the Beefy Tostada, a box was designed to support the weight. The Tortilla was placed on wax paper and the wax paper was placed in the box. Then someone decided to create a tray to replace the wax paper for better support. Somehow that box and tray began showing up on the regular Tostada. Bring back the Tostada! Bring back the flat bag! Okay, off the soapbox now. Last night, I had the craving for a Tostada. The closest that I could come to it was the Mexican Pizza. In my working life, I worked at two fast food restaurants. Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. I can state, with authority that the Mexican Pizza is NOT a pizza. Nor is it a Tostada. It's more of a semi-crispy, semi-soggy mess. It has been a while since I last came to this Taco Bell. The inside looks to have been remodeled and was very clean. All the tables are located next to the windows and there's a huge open space in the middle of the restaurant. There are no cashiers but there are 4 kiosks where you can place your order. I saw that they had a Tuesday deal for a $5 Discovery Box which consists of a Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco, Crunchy Taco, Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco and medium drink. Food was quick to come out and tasted good. The Mountain Dew Baja blast is my go to drink whenever I go to Taco Bell. I liked the new lids that they have on their drinks. It was like a snap on lid that felt more secure on the cup. There's plenty of parking in their parking lot. I've never seen it half full. I think a lot of people just take their food to go or use the drive thru. The parking spots near the entrance looks to have been remodeled as well. read more

I haven't been to Taco Bell in years. No particular reason, I just haven't. With that being said, while driving down Webster Street in Alameda I decided to go on a whim. The drive thru was a ridiculously long line so I decided to go inside to order my food. The employees don't take the orders but now there are two kiosks where people can order their food. Simple and straight forward. To my dismay, Taco Bell discontinued the Double Decker Taco. That was such a wonderful invention having a soft taco wrapped over a crunchy taco with refried beans between them to paste the tacos together like glue. A genius idea that will forever live on in my memories, gone but never forgotten. RIP Double Decker. You will be missed. All that being said I ordered a group meal which was $11.99 for 4 crispy tacos and 4 Beefy cheese burritos. After ordering, my food was ready in less than 8 minutes. The crunchy tacos were what they've always been. The beefy cheese burritos were all new to me. Those little tubes of refried beans, meat, and cheese were delicious with the Taco Bell Fire Sauce packets. Overall a decent experience from Taco Bell. I'm not familiar with the menu, so it didn't help that the menu on the board when you're in the on-deck circle to order was dark, so I had to order while the guy on the speaker was patiently waiting to take your order. But I know I had a gordita and two of their other Taco Bell specialties that you can't find anywhere else, but I'll be darned if I can remember what they were. I think one was a crunchwrap supreme and the other a chalupa. I noticed that Taco Bell basically made up these dishes out of the ingredients they already had on hand. They seemed to involve the use of hard taco shells in other dishes. I wanted to try the Taco Bell specialties since they're entirely made up by Taco Bell so you can't get them at your local taqueria. Wanted a bean burrito no cheese/no onions, got a burrito supreme with everything, wanted a crunchy taco with no cheese, got a taco supreme without cheese but with sour cream, asked for fire sauce and got hot. Why even have a menu or options if the workers could absolutely care less. This Taco Bell is located on Webster near the tube, so it's super easy to get in and out. With COVID, we've only done drive through, never dine in. My absolute FAVORITE is their Toasted Cheddar Chalupa. This is seasonal, so if it's available, GET IT! It's absolutely delish. I normally hate cold fast food, but had this cold once (not by choice, don't judge) and it was still good. Their Nacho Fries are also good. I have had multiple bad experiences at this particular location. On the worst occasion, my husband drew the short stick and had to make the TBell run. My order was pretty simple, a hard shell taco and pintos and cheese; basic, I know. I ended up with a pintos and cheese taco. You read that right, beans and cheese in a hard taco shell. I made the drive back to taco bell with the receipt and my pitiful pintos and cheese taco. Their response? They laughed and said, oh sorry about that. I got my corrected order and left. I've also gotten home and my pintos and cheese are 1/4 full. Another example. I LOVE buffalo sauce. I decided one day to try the buffalo chicken nacho fries. We got home and there was no buffalo sauce on those bad boys, nor chicken, that's because they gave us the regular ones. My husband went back this time. They took back the regular ones (What are you going to do with that??) and gave us the ones we ordered. They were meh, but I can't place that on this location. When paying, they leave the the credit card device for my to insert my card in myself. When I received my order, it was on a tray passed to me. Everything was super quick and efficient. We were in and out so fast! Impressive! Here's what I ordered: CHALUPA CRAVINGS BOX - $5 This Box includes the following 5 items: + MEDIUM FOUNTAIN DRINK I didn't care much for the beverage. Although it's a medium, it's a pretty large size. You can always swap this out for other beverages with a price difference: Orange Juice +$0.10 Freeze +$0.60 Coffee +$0.00 + CHALUPA SUPREME Fried flatbread shell with seasoned beef, a three-cheese blend, lettuce, tomatoes, and reduced fat sour cream. It's really good because the flatbread is light and airy but lightly crisp because it was fried. All the ingredients came together wonderfully with that nice light crunch texture. Chips were okay and the scoop of guac was good enough for me! I was focusing more on the others. Overall, this Chalupa Cravings Box is such a great deal. It's so much food for only $5, and it's customizable for a tiny fee. My partner and I shared this, and we ordered an additional Chalupa Supreme for $3. Think about it, for just $2 more, you get 4 more items in this Chalupa Cravings Box! And it really fills up 2 people. What a great deal.
