Discussing this Lingerie store is a bit Tabu, but I'm going to do it anyway. This is a really sexy lingerie store with friendly associates, and I would say that if it were just a little bit cheaper I probably would have given them five stars. They have some really sexy outfits which Barbie usually looks really good in. I think the main problem is definitely the pricing, but you expect high pricing in places like this, and for the type of service that you get here I think you couldn't ask for much more. They don't have anything quite as sexy as some of the stuff that Barbie buys online, but it's still really nice for a little storefront, and we'll still be back here for sure. Now the review is over. I've bought a couple of things here. They have great friendly service who are attentive and have great advice. One of my favorite pieces is from here and it has lasted for a couple of years now. I wouldn't say it has the highest quality products but it's not cheap either. They seem a bit pricey but they have a good variety and lots of sizes. They have a few things for men but mostly playful. The people that work in this store are very professional and always helpful. The selection is great, especially when I don't want to drive south to the other giant stores. I stopped in to buy some bunny accessories to wear. I walked in, on the phone with a friend who was costume shopping also. I had an empty cup that I asked to throw away when I was told "no outside trash". I found a set that I liked and was contemplating the set or regular bunny ears bc I wasn't sure of the tail... I stood there, on the phone w/ my friend for about 15 mins in contemplation... when Randy walks up to me and attempts to take the set out of my hands and proceeds to tell me he's "afraid I might drop my cup and to take it outside to throw away. (My cup was clear/empty.) I asked him why he would attempt to take something out of my hands and tell him it's rude the he tells me that I'm "being rude on my phone for thirty minutes ". He goes on to say "I'm the owner, you don't like me and I don't like you so you don't have to shop here"... At which point I just left because it was pretty obvious what this was about. Lingerie and adult products. While I would probably translate that as stripper-clothing and dlidos, Tabu is a step above in quality. The lingerie selection is decent and seems to be above average. They do have the requisite stripper outfits and sexy nurse costumes as well if yer looking for that sort of thing (but hardly as much as you'd find at Le Rouge). The toy selection is reasonable, with a wide range of options. However, they keep many of the toys behind the counter area, so this makes it hard to browse. However, the staff is extremely helpful and will show you anything you might want to examine up close. The woman working on my last visit as very helpful and knowledgeable about various products. I went to Tabu to buy a wedding shower gift for one of my best friends. Really, it was a gift for a friend, stop thinking it was something else. In any case, I wasn't entirely comfortable and the sweet and hot salesgirl was very helpful in picking out some good bondage stuff. She had to ask me if "I knew what I was doing and if I needed a product demonstration." Uncomfortable I was but I used the "gift for a friend" line. I really wanted pink furry bondage cuffs but no deal, had to settle on traditional leather. I added in the hog tie kit just cause it seemed appropriate. The shower went great, my gifts really livened things up after the boring pottery barn crap that was being opened. My friend thought it was awesome, his bride to be was less amused by my antics. She asked if she could return it. I said sure, they have lots of cool dildos you could exchange for the hog tie. She was increasingly unamused. Poor quality of products and they do not take care of customers I spent $45 on an item and I realized that it was falling apart before I wore it or took the tags off. They wouldn't give me my money back, even though it was damaged. I hope I have better luck with the items I had to exchange it for. I will definitely not be going back here. Their return policy is not listed anywhere so make sure you know that you will only get a store credit if you have problems with what you purchase. read more

Stripper clothing and dildos is right...although I came in search of a corset possibly for my upcoming going away party. Selection of corsets was similar to that at Le Rouge and Forbidden Fruit, but the girl working was much more accomodating and willing to help me out. She was also incredibly friendly, even though they were closing in ten minutes or so. She even offered to help me in the lacing process...I declined, however, because I'd tried on the same corsets at the other stores. This store is pretty small, but well laid out...you can't see all the "educational models" just by walking by. If that's what you're looking for, you need to head towards the back of the store. They have a decent selection of these items and, once again, the girl working was very knowlegable and willing to offer advice. Ive heard all of their strange commercials, spoken by a woman in a sorta sexy accent ( although I think she kind of sounds like a 50 year old stuffed shirt) telling of the many wonders that can be found at Tabu. What I found was this. Very cute lingerie. Very cute. And...well made. Most lingerie is kinda trashy and cheaply made, this is the opposite, but it will sure cost you. Like 80 dollars cost you. After I turned around and listened to the store clerk explaining what each different lubricant would do to each part of this mans girlfriends anatomy, I kind of slinked out the door. This is a small adult store in the middle of busy strip. Pretty tame lingerie in the window with two walls covered in toys (the back wall dedicated to Lelo brand). They do not have a ton of merchandise compared to other adult stores I've visited, but I think it's a well-curated selection. Price point tends to skew much higher than online, which was my only real issue with Tabu. Guess that's the cost of needing something right away and not being able to wait days or weeks for an unmarked package to arrive at my door. Service was friendly, and she gave me space to browse until I asked a direct question. Overall, the store is nice and they have some nice items, but if you are not in a time crunch you can find much better prices online. read more

I dropped in here last Wednesday about 6:45pm -- the blonde girl working that shift was amazing! With 15 minutes to buy a bachelorette gift, I needed all the help I could get. After I gave her my budget (under $40) and a quick description of the bride's tastes, the saleswoman quickly and calmly pointed out a couple items on the sales rack and some cute favorites. My experience with the staff was one of the worst interactions I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I spoke to a store clerk who was extremely rude and uninterested in helping me in any way resolve my issue, so then I spoke to a store manager about said issue, and she accused me of "trying to have a problem with her." All in all this store is extremely unprofessional, and does not know how to treat a well paying customer. NEVER SHOP HERE THEY DO NOT RESPECT THEIR CLIENTELE. read more

I had some time to kill, so I checked out this place--and came away very disappointed. The range of 'toys' is virtually non-existent. Hello, welcome to the 21st century. Sure the store was well-lit clean and organized. But it also did not have anything actually. Maybe it's an inside joke. They should have been the ones to go out of business/leave town. Always helpful. Yes it is a slightly limited lingerie selection but i can walk over from Trudys w a date and pick something up, locally owned, the owner was in there last time. They have a web site, but I like to just walk in. A higher end selection of toys, no 22 inch dildos to freak my girlfriend out. Great business. It's women-oriented and offers a polished boutique layout. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, but aren't intrusive when you're browsing. They hand pick what products and brands they carry. I was getting a corset once and before trying it on the sales girl was nice enough to ask if I had ever tried one on before and if I'd like any help threading the laces. Once I had it on, she helped me with the laces and explained the proper ways to tie a corset, as well as what to look for in the quality of a corset. They definitely stand behind the quality of their products. If you ask about a product they are more than willing to take it out of the box and put batteries in (if it's battery operated) so you can see it. If they don't happen to carry something in the store, they welcome you're input and it actually does impact what they stock. I really like Tabu. It is small, so one star off for that, because it limits their stock. But the few times I have been, the staff has been helpful with answering questions and making recommendations. The last time I went, the two employees were happy to help with retrieving apparel from the store as I was trying things on, and bringing me idea items as I described what I liked and what I didn't. They were friendly, but not pushy, and I found a lace white corset I liked for under $80. I wanted black, but they didn't have it in my size. However they advised me on when their next new stock shipment was due, so I'm going back to check again in a day or two. I would definitely recommend them, without hesitation. read more
