I went for 16 weeks to another training school (Good Dog in Phoenix) and was frustrated,…read moredisappointed, and down right pissed that I wasted four months and too much money. I mean, Really? We need to teach our dogs for weeks how to sniff butts? My dogs can sniff my butt and I didn't even have to train them! Grrrrrrr! I recently adopted an eight week old puppy and searched for a new school. After phone chat with Kate at Go Rogue I decided to place puppy, Siren in their school. Wowzer! We learned more in the very first class than I learned with my other rescue pup in sixteen weeks at Good Dog school. It is awesome! The puppies have several play groups to socialize and just have fun....think of a puppy mosh pit! There are so many fun and challenging obstacles set up all over the room for puppies to explore, feel various textures, get a puppy view of agility....which all of my dogs participate in as they get old enough. The approach is always positive, there are two instructors who offer wonderful assistance if a puppy or their human are having any difficulties. They "include" a wonderful handbook to fully explain things we might forget in class. Always there is homework and each class is followed up with an email reminding us what to work on before next session. Kate and Carrie offer high value treats....they don't charge for these (unlike the other school) if the puppy needs a little motivation. I could write a novel on how fabulous this school is. My puppy, Siren just graduated today from her Puppy 1 six week session. ( forgot to say, this school charges $165 for six weeks, Good Dog charged $217 for eight weeks of sniffing butts and click for calm and if you want a hand book fork over an additional $25 bucks. If you run out of treats during class....get your money out! Ain't nothing free at Good Dog school.) And for the puppies graduation today (I am so proud!) each pup received an official diploma with their name and a new toy and a bag of treats! We signed up for Puppy 2. A six week session at a reduced fee. This is how to run a training school! Go Rogue! Ten Arfs for this amazing school! Arf, Arf, Arf, Arf, Arf, Arf, Arf, Arf, Arf, Arf....And a big fat Woof!

I was really pleased at the location-kind of out in the country and nice and quiet. There was a main house (where I assume the owners live) and then the kennel (they do grooming here as well). We have boarded our dog now a few times at Breton's and our vet, and never has he been taken care of as well as he was here. I was also amazed at the price. $18.00 a night. Very different from the $26-$32 we are charged at home. This place also has huge suites for the pets and though he was whiny when we left him, he wasn't extra whiny or sheddy or jumping to leave like other times. This is really telling and I wish this place were closer to home. I would recommend using them for sure!

My 10 year old cat received an injection of Solensia for her osteoarthritis from a different vet…read moreclinic and had a number of serious adverse reactions. 3 months later she was completely lame in her hind legs so I brought her to Siskiyou Veterinary Hospital to see if they could diagnose and help her. Dr Debby was the doctor I saw. She examined my cat and felt her hind legs. I could tell that she felt something concerning on her right hip and she ordered radiographs for her. When she came back with the radiographs I knew from her eyes it was not good news. She broke the news to me ever so gently and showed me the 4" tumor on my cat's hip. I asked her how long my cat might have in the best case and she said only a few weeks with pain management. She was in so much pain that I elected to have her euthanized right there. Dr Debby was so kind and compassionate as I shed tears for my beloved soul kitty. She got me a box of tissues and told me I could have as much time as I needed with my cat. After she came back with the vet tech and gave her the injection to put her to sleep, she quietly left the room and allowed me to be there with my cat to grieve as long as I wanted. She told me I could just leave and walk out when I was done and didn't have to stop by the front desk. The vet tech was similarly kind and compassionate. I've seen enough vet doctors who lack compassion that Dr Debby's sensitivity and kindness meant the world to me. The memory of saying goodbye to my soul kitty will always be with me and with her quiet kindness and thoughtfulness, Dr Debby has made that memory far more bearable than if I'd had to deal with one of the other vets I've seen in the past. I am forever grateful for this. I don't know how the rest of the doctors here are, but I'm already planning to take my other cat to Dr Debby when it's time for her next vet visit.

Also I live in the country and I need a mouser. I have had 5 cats, all from kittens, and only the one male disappeared at age 4. I am sure it was because he would go out hunting and he became the hunted. I learned a lesson from that and never got a male kitten again. The 4 females lived out their full lives. I called the Humane Society seeking 2 more female kittens. They refused me any kittens as I live in the county and "they would die". They did offer me barn cats, which I suppose would just automatically take to my barn and "would not die". I do not understand that thinking at all. So it is okay if a barn cat, who they do not know will remain in my barn, is preferred to a kitten who would stay close to my home because I have bonded with it. But in their thinking, the kitten will die. It's okay to give me a barn cat if it dies, but not a kitten. Does this make sense to anyone? I feel they are saying, "sure we will give you a barn cat - who cares if they die. We know for sure that if we give you a kitten it will die." I have had four kittens, and none of them died except from natural causes or a health problem. Since it was near the end of kitten season, I was only able to get 2 kittens that were already 3 months old, from a woman who told me they were from a feral mom. Not knowing what I was getting myself into, I was glad to take them. I tried and tried to bond with them but it seemed hopeless. When I called the Humane Society to ask questions regarding feral kittens the woman I got instructions from was nothing less than a grouch! Something is definitely wrong at that place. I do not care how hard they work to take in animals, with all the negative reviews, they need to learn how to treat people and instructions in how to run a business.
