Table is the restaurant at MyHotel, and one of the many places serving food and drink at the hotel. It stands out from the rest, mostly by being the only place that serves full meals. Table is very nice, if very pricey: worth it for a special occasion, but not every day certainly.
Table used to be Aldo Zilli's restaurant, but is now run directly by the hotel. The change from Mediterranean to British cuisine is a welcome one, and the food is just as good as when it was one of Zilli's: unfortunately, the prices haven't changed either, shooting this restaurant a little out of most Brightonian's regular price range.
This is an unfortunate sticking point, as the food doesn't feel particularly special, thus the price seems a little out there. I'm sure it's perfect for the regular MyHotel patrons, but for day to day eaters, I feel it's missing a little oomph. It hasn't got the spark of somewhere slightly more interesting and exciting, and yet the prices would normally reflect something a little out of the ordinary.
However, this isn't a huge problem: the food is still very good. Apart from that, the location is excellent, right on Jubilee Square, which is very nice to sit in on a warm day. The ambiance is lovely, with plenty of floor-length windows letting in lots of sunlight, and it is never too busy or loud.
Even more useful for some, the restaurant is the perfect place to plan upmarket meetings. Portions of the restaurant can be cordoned off, and the noise doesn't travel at all: a really lovely place for a lunchtime chit-chat or something similar.
All in all, Table is a great place for a special meal, although it is a bit much for a regular meal out. However, if you have the money, it's a lovely experience of a meal, if missing something a little exciting on the menu. read more
