I was warned that the portions size is generous here and you certainly won't go away hungry. You know it's a good menu when it's really difficult to choose I eventually settled on scallops with black pudding and potatoes served on salad including apple. The portion was huge and while the presentation wasn't fine dining and certainly wasn't intended to be fine dining, the combination of flavours was spot on. The scallops were sweet and I appreciated the fact that they had left the coral on - there is so much flavour there. The slightly spicy and deep flavour of the black pudding was the perfect foil and the salad dressing was well judged. Yum This is a pub with a serious kitchen. Recommended!
