They just opened so giving a little grace but our experience for dinner which we made a reservation for was lacking. We were seated inside up against the counter by the coffee/drinks and it was not comfortable. The food was delicious, no complaints there. Filling and yummy especially the hummus and the entrees we got lamb and beef and the Mezze plate which we enjoyed. The service was not it, we had to flag down our server and waited a bunch in between drinks and he also didn't explain the menu and was confused (again, giving grace since they are new). Also we ordered too much and needed a box and there were a lot of wait staff standing by the drink counter but they weren't our server and didn't know if the restaurant had takeout boxes? I'm sorry, it was awkward. Ambiance is chic but indoor seating was tight and we were seated in the worst spot. I wish we got seated on the patio but all good. Parking in little Italy is terrible, you can valet across the street by juniper and ivy or try the Postino garage if you can't get street parking. Lastly, the menu is QR code only and was lowkey annoying because you couldn't look at everything without clicking into multiple subtabs. Call me old but it would've been nice to also have another way to view the menu more cohesively. Our coffees were fine and came with a delicious Turkish delight, we also got a beautiful $15 mocktail. No alcohol here. Come for the food and they have a hookah bar if you're into that too but no clear where it was and didn't ask this time. read more

The staff was friendly, but the food quality was disappointing, especially given how overpriced it was.

Was happy I stumbled on this place! Been wanting to try/find a nice hookah spot. The ambience here is definitely modern and nice as compared to some other hookah spots. Was served by Yamer when I visited and she was super polite and helpful! As i don't do hookah often she walked me through the menu and gave me some good recommendations. Planning on coming back soon as this was an overall great experience/hang out spot. read more

Waited 30 mins to be brought a menu and then waited another hour to have food brought up. The place is nice but not worth the time waited and the food was good but I had better elsewhere and fresh bread. The two stars were earned one for food and the other for a cute place. read more

The food was horrible, the service was even worse and overprice. I would never go there and I really didn't enjoy my food. Waste of money unless you're into hookah just go smell like shit. read more

So I had the opportunity to try TABAC + in my neighborhood little Italy and it did not disappoint! The drinks were so good although I do have to make sure everybody is aware that these were mocktails . The presentation is just beautiful and I love a good mocktail. They do not serve alcohol. The coffee drinks were also really delicious and beautifully presented. We had a few dishes of food and that was also very good. Had some hookah which haven't done hookah in a long time, but it was definitely a vibe. I feel like this is a great addition to the neighborhood here in Little Italy we need something that's open late night With some great food and good vibes. Can't wait to party here after the party if you haven't tried TABAC + go and try it now. Oh and a quick shoutout too Medhi (sorry if I miss pronounced) he was our waiter and was so knowledgeable and very helpful. read more

This place is total chaos on a busy night. Reservations don't mean anything here. There online system will let you make reservations and when you show up you will 45 mins to 1 hour past reservation time if you are lucky. Why not just be transparent and tell the customers that we are at capacity and running super behind when they get there so one can decide if they want to go somewhere else or not?? They keep saying 5 mins, 10 mins, etc lingering you along and before you know it you are 1 hour past your reservation time waiting outside. You see other groups go in who seem to know someone there. Transparency and communication would save a lot of headache. Only reason I'm not giving 1 star the place is cool spot when you do finally get a table. read more

The food here was awesome! A first time for me trying Turkish foods and I really enjoyed the different flavor profiles of each of the dishes we tried. I've been coming to Tabac+ for a while now, and it's easily one of my favorite spots in San Diego. I live in Irvine and still make the drive down at least twice a month--that should say enough on its own. Mohammad runs a solid place, and the service is always on point. Ansar and Alihan usually take care of me and they're consistently attentive without being overbearing. You feel taken care of from the moment you sit down. The hookah is excellent--high quality Ros hookahs and a lot of flavor options. Everything is always clean, smooth, and prepared right. I usually sit in the cigar section, and they always bring an ashtray, cutter, and lighter without me having to ask, which I appreciate. Drinks are great too. Good mocktails, solid coffee and tea options, and the desserts are a must. The knafeh is my go-to and never disappoints. This is a busy establishment and there is a bit of line in the evening on Friday and Saturday night. Definitely make a reservation. If you want hookah, you need to select the outdoor patio. If you don't want smoke, the indoor seating is really nice and comfortable. Overall, this place does things the right way. It is a high-end experience and they pay special attention to the details. Quality product, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Always worth the drive. read more

Don't go to this place. The service is terrible and slow. They are not clear on the menu, this is a ripoff Place. The breakfast menu that you see is actually $80 not $40 and if you are more than 2 people you have to order more. Not even enough bread has been served in this restaurant.not worth it at all! read more

Tabac Plus - Turkish breakfast - Mediterranean Near Me - San Diego, California

had a terrible experience at Tabac+ in San Diego. I made a reservation for a party of four at 10:30 PM to celebrate my friend's birthday. Even though we had a confirmed reservation, we were still asked to wait in line and ended up waiting for over an hour without ever being seated. What made the situation worse was that the staff kept taking new reservations and letting walk-ins in while many of us with reservations were still waiting. It just doesn't make sense--why keep accepting more reservations if you can't seat the ones you already have? The whole experience felt unorganized and inconsiderate, especially on a night that was supposed to be special. Definitely not what I expected from a place like this. read more

Tabac+ is such an authentic Turkish experience that you don't get very often in San Diego. The renovation from what was previously Carruth Cellars, is beautiful, intentional and very luxurious. The menu featured some really delicious traditional dishes. We ordered Mezze Palette, Tulum Garden, Dolmas, the truffle chicken, and finished with the Helga w Turkish ice cream. Their labneh tzatziki was some of the best I've ever had. Super light and fluffy. The Cig Kofte were actually vegetarian even though they looked and tasted like meat, but really yummy! The Helga was very rich, dense, and a pistachio lovers dream. For drinks we ordered the Mentha Limonata which was very refreshing and reminded me of a mojito. We also ordered the chai tea latte which was too sweet for me, I'd recommend getting it half sweet if you like a more earthy chai. read more

Im Warning Every San Diegan that appreciates good food to NOT COME TO THIS Place. I ordered the lamb chops, and that was was the worst lamb chops I've ever had in my life. The meat was so bad im surprised they even had the audacity to serve it to a human being. The rice was hard, the lamb chops were unseasoned and the worst quality lamb I have ever seen! And tasted. The texture felt like hardened ground meat than actual pieces of meat. This restaurant had the audacity to contact google and have my original review removed because it didn't have enough detail! Well here is the detail for u, have respect for the public and have better quality food. This establishment is a hookah place for people to.hang out, it has no business serving food. If google decides to remove my review again, then Google is not a reputable company if it just simply removes legitimate reviews of restraunts because the owner doesn't like it. I am not the only person that disliked the lamb chops. Check out other reviews regarding their lamb chops, practically inedible. THIS is not a serious restaurant. They dont include half of the ingredients they say they would. My lamb chops had no puree and only 2 tiny sticks of asparagus. read more

Tabac Plus - Turkish Coffee after breakfast - Mediterranean Near Me - San Diego, California

I hate to leave a bad review, but the food was terrible. The beef entree looked like little breakfast sausages and they were so hard and overcooked, barely edible, but I was starving. Then the lettuce in the salad was old and red, which was lovely. Moving onto dessert, the kunafe was burnt and the Dubai dessert was okay- basically like a chocolate mousse pudding with crushed pistachios- nothing exciting. I was so underwhelmed and wished we had gone somewhere else. The ambience was really nice though and it seems like a chill place for hookah only- although I cannot attest to their hookah because my party didn't order any. read more

We had a lovely experience here and honestly Pinar, our sever was absolutely amazing, she checked in with us multiple times to make sure we were doing okay. Of course, the ambiance here is amazing. Came here to try their food, but there was an event so I got desserts to go. Kenefe was delicious and such a delightful dessert that I'll definitely try again. I also tried halwa which was a bit too sweet for my taste. I'm excited to try their dishes next time and update my review read more

Sooooo disappointed with the service here. I booked a table for 5 and they squeezed us into a small table where the food didn't even fit... so that was already a bad start. Our server gave 0 attention to our table and now I know it's because they automatically add the tip for people of 5 and more which was not deserved at all based on the treatment she gave us. I'm honestly sooo disappointed since this is such a beautiful restaurant. Such a shame and not worth the price. Extremely high end for low end service. read more
