After an hour and a half, I then received a call from the restaurant claiming the driver had come to my address and no one answered the door. This is a complete lie. No one rang the doorbell, no one knocked, and no one called my phone. When I asked why the driver didn't call when the door was supposedly unanswered, there was no explanation at all. Now I'm left having to waste even more of my time dealing with an online app to get a refund that will apparently take up to a week. Dishonest, disorganised and utterly incompetent. Worst takeaway service I've ever experienced. Avoid.

Kinara is really great and with top staff to match it's a great dining experience! We popped in one evening and ordered our usual amount of food that would feed five people. We went for lamb vindaloos (my partner) and I went for the chicken Jalfreze. Both were excellent and I couldn't fault wither portion size or flavour. The rest of the food, the Onion Bhajis, Saag Aloo, Bombay aloo and naan bread were all as good as I've ever had. They also let you bring your own if you want which brings the bill price down which is great. Can't recommend this place enough!

My 5 year old daughter,…read morewife and I dined and we were missing my 9 year old, who was at a friends party but gave us strict instructions to bring her back a pepperoni pizza!! I've dined in the original Mama Masala Londonderry (owned by the same owners) and really enjoyed it so was looking forward to tasting the food! I've been following the journey of this new restaurant avidly (Metamorphosis ) and have written about the Story. Whilst we looked at the extensive Indian and Italian menu we nibbled on fresh, crisp poppadoms served with three sweet dips/chutneys. The menu was a very well thought out and well designed one and there were plenty of dishes to choose from!! We chose Vegetable samosa and garlic prawns to start and my little one wanted her chicken nuggets and chips!! My wife also had a mojito which she said was delicious. The presentation of both the prawns and samosas was very elegant and appetising. The 2 large king prawns were served butterflied, with tails on and in a rich, garlic sauce and were amazing. The three filo samosas looked a bit oily and when we cut into them discovered they had meat in them. We flagged this up and the staff were very apologetic and the proprietor Gagan personally served us fluffy perfect Punjabi vegetable samosas. These were exactly like one gets in Punjab itself and delicious suffice to say!! The portion size and taste of the nuggets and chips was excellent. For main course my wife opted for the chicken penne and I the rara gosht with Mama Masala Nan. When these were served it was quite literally a "wow" moment. The pasta was served in a large dish, the lamb in a deep oval dish and there was plenty in each. What really struck us was the authenticity, the very generous quality meat content (chicken breast, lots of tender chunks of lamb interspersed with minced lamb or keema) and the flavours!!! The pasta was in a creamy, yet not too heavy sauce with a nice touch of sun dried tomatoes and basil. The rara gosht is certainly one of the best Indian dishes I've ever had, even my wife loved it and she's not a big lamb eater. The nan was soft, full of flavour (Chillies and coriander) and was ideal with the lamb and pasta!! The dish was full of flavour and spice and not oily or sweet or artificially coloured. This was the real McCoy!! Our waiter remembered that we had ordered a pepperoni pizza to take and he duly presented it to us as we were leaving. The venue was superb, the staff were tremendous and the food was exceptional. I can now say that this will be a firm favourite of ours and is highly commended!!

However I occasionally get a huge craving for some Indian food and I've been ordering from Indian Knights every now and then for a couple of years. I've never been disappointed. The portions are huge, the curries are delicious, well spiced and freshly made and I even like their chips (which, from someone who will only eat "real chips", is quite a compliment for a takeaway). I must say though that I haven't tried any of their more Westernised dishes (e.g. the kebabs, pizzas, etc) so I can only vouch for the curries, sundries, tandoori meats, etc, but those have always been great. Each time we order I'm always a bit wary in case their standards have slipped since the time before but we went to Indian Knights again this weekend and everything was as good as we remembered, so I thought a review singing its praises was now probably well overdue. Having tasted a few other local Indian takeaways, most of which charge more, I would definitely return to Indian Knights again over any of the rest of them. My only small gripe is that they're not set up on the likes of Nifty Nosh or Just Eat so I can't order online, which would be a lot more convenient. For the sake of my waistline it's probably just as well!

One of the most unique dishes was the Horin-Er-Mangsho, a loin of local venison flame-grilled to medium rare and served with tamarind sauce on the side. The venison was super juicy, meaty, and flavorful, making for a delicious starter. For my main, I got the Kolkata Thali, described on the menu as "South East Indian Tapas." This metal platter came with a sampling of different vegetarian dishes including breaded paneer, aloo tikki (spiced mashed potato patty), stir-fried okra, shredded potatoes, dal (mixed lentils), chickpeas in tomato sauce, eggplant in tomato sauce, raita, rice, and plain naan. My favorite was the aloo tikki, which was nicely spiced--in general, however, most of the dishes on the thali were all toned down in spices to fit a more Anglo-Indian flavor palate. So while this wasn't the most authentic Indian food I've tried, the restaurant still made for nice trendy dining experience.

There was a very select few to choose from but the winner hands down was Tale Of Spice in Dundonald!! It won hands down on a number of scores. First it has ample free car parking. Second it is owned and run by a fantastic all Indian team from kitchen (Chef Gautam) to Front of House (Abhishek and Sunil). Third the food is as authentic as if one was sitting and eating it in any Northern Indian restaurant. The decour is modern contemporary with a subtle Indian touch. The staff are very helpful and knowledgable and chef himself a real expert. I asked him to make three dishes (two chicken and one lamb). He duly obliged but not before we tucked into fresh crispy popadoms with tasty dips-so many restaurants fall foul of serving oily soggy popadoms- a real turn off! Our three mains came out with two pilau rice, a nan and garlic nan. The butter chicken was creamy and tomatoey with no artificial colouring-and not overtly sweet. The Karahi gosht was divine with the lamb being tender, juicy and succulent. The chicken tikka saag was excellent-all three dishes garnished well with ginger juliennes and parsley and coriander.....just like one gets in Punjab. Alas the portions beat us quantity wise. This really is as authentic North Indian as you will get. A must visit place.
