This week, I went in to this location planning to purchase a new phone. I didn't want to adjust my…read moreplan or do anything else; I just wanted to buy a phone and I knew I was going to pay full retail and was okay with that. The rep helping me, needed manager assistance. Enter Alyx. Alyx came out and insisted on chatting with me about my plan before helping me buy a phone. This was very frustrating to me; although, I do feel she was genuinely trying to improve my plan, service, and experience. She made some good points so ultimately, I left, without a phone, to do more research on the plan change recommendations. I figured out what plan change I wanted to make and went back in the next day. I started working with someone else, who was able to make the plan changes I requested (although she was not engaged or friendly). Then, when I finally got to the one thing I came in for - buying a new phone! - the new rep recommended I go to Apple to buy the phone. I almost exploded inside. I just wanted to buy a phone at full price, and I couldn't understand why they keep 'strongly' encouraging me away from this. After a few minutes with this rep, who seemed to be uninterested in our conversation, I was about to leave in shock that for a second day I was leaving without a new phone. Seconds before I got up, Alyx, the manager from the day before came over and asked how things were going (she had been helping someone else when I walked in). I explained the situation and she immediately started doing what she did the night before - looking up options to make it work. Long story short, I did leave that second day with a new phone and a new plan that I feel good about. This was the most frustrating experience I've had buying a new phone; however, in the end, I am grateful for Alyx. Her persistence, knowledge, and genuine concern for getting me to a better plan/service was what lead to me getting the phone I came in for and ending this transaction in a better situation than when I entered, even though I tried to push back the first day. In the past, reps would just sell me the phone, which was great for the moment. But Alyx wasn't just considering the moment; she was looking out for me in the longer term. She took the time to sit down with me, explain what I needed to know (even though I didn't want to hear it). She pushed back when I tried to be firm and just buy the phone, and she kept listening and searching to find the best solution for me. Although, I was initially annoyed by this experience, in the end, I am better off and it is because of Alyx not just doing what I asked, but doing what was better for me as a long-term Verizon customer. She cared and was professional and friendly and I appreciate her help. If I only dealt with Alyx, I'd give 5 stars. I am giving 4 because not everyone at This store is like Alyx. Even the rep on day 2 was not going to attempt looking for a solution for me and instead was going to let me walk out, frustrated and upset, to go buy a phone elsewhere. I love Verizon overall, and I hope they fill all their stores with people like Alyx.

Let me tell you, she was awesome. She set me up with a $30 plan, got my phone disconnected from Mint and hooked up to Verizon, all with a great smile. Thank you so much, Dee. We are so thrilled with your efforts to meet our needs, that I'm coming back in the morning to switch my phone over, too!

I reached out to two other shops in town to try and get the CPU changed before it became a catastrophic problem. I got no response from one, and a "nah, good luck though" from another. Months later, it ceased being a "programs will crash without software intervention" issue and became a " " issue. I'd gotten phone battery replacements from them in the past, but this was something far more extreme. Still, they said they could help, and lo and behold, they did. When I learned that Intel had extended the warranty on the i9 13th generation chips to five years (because they'd effectively told motherboard manufacturers to microwave them), they were willing to let me work with the PC manufacturer to get a replacement. That took entirely too long, (thank you FedEx and UPS), but once I had the chip in hand, they had the replacement CPU installed and BIOS set up the same day I brought it in. In the end, they only wanted to charge me for the initial diagnostic since I provided the replacement part (eventually). I will absolutely be coming back.

When I walked in the young lady behind the counter asked what issue I was having and which phone I had and without a second informed me they didn't have one for my phone and said my best bet would be to go to Walmart. I went to a different location and they were much more helpful by suggesting contacting tmobile directly to have it replaced. I hope they do better with others and maybe she was having an off day.

This one star rating is due to this after-sale visit of 08/15/2021. As I talked with this 'new-to-me' sales rep (# ****567 - -he had no name tag - this employee info was on the invoice that I eventually received at the conclusion of our encounter), I began to realize that I would not be having a good experience with him. His lack of empathy and concern were not what I expected as we have four phones that are migrating from Sprint to T-Mobile. I was annoyed that Dave did not step in and offer assistance, as he knew me from the previous day. I paid for a replacement protector screen and left the store as a very unsatisfied customer that my situation/concern was not taken seriously with no hint of a mutually agreeable/satisfactory resolution. I called the Customer Service line, and spoke with 'Allen' who profusely apologized and said he would contact the store manager to call me. He gave me a case # and assured me the manager would be in contact with me. That was on August 16, 2021 --nobody has called as of 09/08/21. Jim Hudson, WI 09/08/2021
