He was not only extremely helpful and friendly, but also went out of his way to make sure that all the data transfers from our old phones were complete and stayed way after the store closed. t-Mobile is the only reliable service for me if I'm traveling overseas, which is important this year. I also wanted an Apple Watch and so that limited the servers that I could have. That said, I am definitely not impressed with T-Mobile so far. It took me a trip to the store, a callback to the store, and three phone calls directly to 611 to get both my phone and the watch working properly, and, the coverage does not seem to be nearly as good as consumer cellular, which is what I had before (Unfortunately, they did not have an international rate). The people in the store were very nice, and the people at the call center are nice, although they are clearly not within the United States, since one of them did not realize that Massachusetts was not international. read more

It's not just this T-Mobile. It's all of them. They all suck. My phone randomly stopped working. I called TMobile's customer service department (and spoke with Nikki, who was actually helpful, a rarity for this company) and worked out a deal where I could simply exchange the phone, and sign another 2 year contract (I had just done this, so it really only extended the contract by 4 months). So I go in to the TMobile store, all excited to have a phone for the first time in 3 days. I tell the woman (read: 16 year old moron) about the situation, and she looks up my account. She then proceeds to inform me that I'm not eligible for an upgrade (obviously, otherwise there wouldn't be an issue). But! Good news! My sister is!. Seriously. Was my sister standing there? No. Was she looking to upgrade her phone? No. Does her eligibility to upgrade her phone help me with my phone situation? No. Stupid people are a pet peeve of mine. So not only did I end up not getting a phone (I told the moron to call the customer service department and talk to Nikki, to which she responded that that would take a lot of time and be difficult and she didn't feel like it). I also left trying to think of a way to impose mandatory sterilization for anyone whose IQ was below a certain level. Some people shouldn't be allowed to procreate. read more

I can't speak for the rest of the employees at this location, but the guy named Erik is a flat out slimy liar. He tried to tell me that this location was NOT a corporate location and insisted that because it was a TPR (his term - it means third party retailer) that I couldn't buy a Wi-Fi Cell Spot. After I called corporate and they confirmed that this location is indeed a corporate store, he changed his tune. Don't deal with Erik. One star for employing staff that will lie straight to your face. read more

Here's a shoutout to the T-Mobile crew in the Chevy Chase Pavilion. Sure, there's a small wait to see a representative. Just make sure you bring some reading material or just watch YouTube videos on one of their iPads. I came in to port my phone number over from Verizon to T-Mobile. I made sure I had my VZW account number on me and I knew my PIN. It was a super easy breezy phone number port from Verizon to T-Mobile and we were done in less than 5 minutes. I even got a free SIM to boot since their point-of-sale system was down. Can't argue that. Super helpful and very competent T-Mobile team. 5/5, would come back again. read more

Went in to take care of an issue with my SIM card and synching accounts on other devices. While I was in the store, a smash and grab robbery happened, and the only salesman who was there tried to stop them but there were 2 of them so they got away. Tom was a total pro. Hardly missing a beat, he just went back to work while fielding questions from the cops after they showed up. Really a nice guy and very knowledgeable about the products. read more

Went there with my husband to set up an account for us and purchase new phones. He was moving over from a personal Verizon account, and I had been on my company's Verizon account and now needed to establish my own now because I am starting a new job. So we were signing up for the $100/month unlimited data deal. He was trading in his LG phone for an iPhone, I was buying a new iPhone (sending old phone back to company). We were seen right away, but the whole process took over 2 hours. I had to leave for a meeting, so my husband dropped me off while the T-Mobile rep was porting over our numbers and moving files, etc. He then went back to the store to continue the process and pick up our phones. When he got there he said nothing was ready. After waiting some more, his files and everything (contacts, photos) were moved over to his new phone. Mine were not. For some reason it didn't work (even though it's iPhone to iPhone). I had to move all contacts and photos over myself by downloading (and paying for one) app to do it for me. It was pretty frustrating. Also, the rep said he was including a pre-paid Visa gift card in our bag to cover part of the Verizon ETF (the rest they'd pay when we got our final Verizon bill). When my husband got home, he realized he had not received any such gift card. The rep also told us we'd be getting an email to fill out a survey on how our service was that day. I never got an email to rate them and fill out a survey, which is why I am reviewing here on Yelp. I wanted to enjoy my first t-mobile experience, but it was really kind of a hassle. The rep was nice though, so that's a plus, and the person who seemed to be the manager of the place was also nice and apologized for it taking so long. read more

The customer service is very incompetent and unfriendly at this office. Not only did we have to wait for an hour to get a number added to the family plan, they were really rude when I asked them for a receipt of what I had paid for. When I came home and checked my account online, I found out they had added extra charges to it without ever mentioning it to me, despite me asking them directly whether there would be any additional costs. I bought a phone and accessories and instead of being nice they were rude and tried to cheat me. read more

I do not speak english very well so my friend helped me write this. I went in to this store and dealt with an associate, sales rep#: 4527671. I brought my own phone and explained, in my broken english, that i wanted to connect it. For some reason, i was given a new phone, insurance for the phone, a cell phone case, a screen protector, insurance on those accessories, extra service i do not need nor want and i do not even own my phone apparently, i am leasing it. I went back to the store after receiving my first bill that was too high, way more then what i am used to paying and they were extremely rude and even laughed in my face. They claimed that i had already passed my "12day trial period" and couldn't do anything for me. I felt hurt and betrayed, especially because i never asked for any of these things and was never told of any 12 day trial period. Later that day, i called their 800 number and spoke with customer service which said that there was nothing that they could do for me, they transferred me to their loyalty department which also claimed that there was nothing that they can do for me. The worst part is that since I am "leasing" my phone it doesn't fall under the EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) that other companies will pay off if you want to switch over to them. T-mobile and their associates have been nothing but dishonest, discourteous, rude, and insulting to me. My whole experience with them has been a bad one. I am going to try with the BBB (better business bureau) but i hope others can learn from what has happened to me. Protect yourself and your loved ones. Stay away from Tmobile!!! especially the Chevy Chase location at 5335 Wisconsin Ave NW. I bought an iphone 6s for my son a year ago. He is at college in Oxford, Ohio. There is very spotty cell coverage there with Tmobile. Verizon has great coverage there. We went to the Tmobile store to get the iphone unlocked so we could use it on Verizon and they were very rude and told us to call the customer service number. We called and were told what to do. We followed instructions and the iphone is still locked a week later, the lates being that we did something wrong in the unlocking process and now need to pay $100 to reapply. Customer service through their 877 778 2106 number gets you a new agent usually in the Phillipines with limited ability to do anything. I have spoken to 9 different customer service agents with an average of an hour spent each time. If you want any service you will only get what Tmobile wants to give you. You may think it is a good deal but if you need any support you will pay dearly for it. When pressed for an email address or other contact method they will give you the mailing address of their legal department! Spend some time looking at all of the class action lawsuits filed against Tmobile. The company is only driven by their bottom line, how much money they can take from you with as little given in return, and have no business ethics!! read more
