We purchased my wife's wedding ring from a regional jewelry store chain in Oregon. She chose the…read morering not only because it is beautiful, but it is also more original than others we looked at. She was diligent in taking her ring in twice a year for inspections when we lived on the west coast. However, since moving to the east coast she has struggled to find a jewelry store to get it inspected under the original warranty. She contacted the store we purchased it at and they helped her identify a NC jeweler who is also part of the national jewelers guild. The benefit of using other jewelers within the guild is that inspections and repairs are part of the lifetime warranty. The only jeweler in North Carolina that is part of the guild is Saslow's Jewelers. We learned they formerly had a storefront in Greensboro but now it is only their corporate office. The closest locations to us are either Boone or Hickory. My wife wanted to get her ring inspected and resized. She reached out to the Hickory store and Cheryl the store manager was very responsive and helpful. She confirmed we could drop the ring off and they would get it resized. She estimated the turnaround time at one week and my wife talked with Cheryl about the store hours, etc. Last weekend we took the 60 minute drive to Hickory to drop it off. The store is conveniently located within the Valley Hills Mall and lucky for us, across the street from one of our favorite barbecue spots, Hugh's Q. Parking was easy and we entered the mall through the food court. We were able to easily find Saslow's on the lower level. We were greeted by Omi and my wife told him she had spoken to Cheryl. It was apparent that Cheryl had spoken to Omi about the conversation and he was quick to help my wife determine the correct size for her ring and was friendly and helpful. My wife received a call from Saslow's a few days later stating her ring was ready so we took another drive this weekend to pick it up. Once again we were greeted by Omi and my wife is very happy with the new fit. Overall, a great experience and we absolutely recommend Saslow's to others! A huge shoutout to Cheryl and Omi as well.

Harbor Freight has the lowest prices on tools of all kinds. They don't carry all specialty tools…read morepeculiar to a specific trade, such as certain tools used in HVAC and commercial refrigeration and other narrow trades, but when it comes to common hand tools and power tools and a lot of tools used in welding and cutting metals as well as certain precision measuring tools, etc., then Harbor Freight is the place to go first if you want to save SIGNIFICANT amounts of money. They do not carry a full range of nuts, bolts, screws and fasteners and plumbing fittings of all kinds, so they are not a general hardware store. They just have a lot of good tools at low, low prices as well as a lot of neat stuff like small gas engines and a lot of items that will surprise you. If you are a do-it-yourself kind of guy, then you will love Harbor Freight.

It is an account of my attempt to obtain a…read morelegitimate refund for a product fully sealed never opened that I purchased at Harbor freight, a set of drillbits costing $18.14. After discovering I did not need the bits I returned them but unfortunately did not have the receipt. I purchased with a credit card and had the purchase logged into their computer. they admitted it was their product with their code and was purchased at their store. But without a receipt there would be no credit. I went home and printed off my credit card statement and highlighted the purchase and the brought it in to be reimbursed. The manager smiled and said "no store receipt no refund" with a nice "gotcha" smile. My advice: go across the street and shop at Lowe's.
