Well, we found out from a neighboring shop owner that the Zoo Bar had shuddered a couple of months back. FLM has signage, but we couldn't tell if it was closed. We climbed up the faded rainbow steps to Queen's Road and discovered the Cafe Queen which we had to enter to get into FLM downstairs. They were still setting up, so we decided to hang out in the Cafe Queen portion of the space. It was dark and relatively quiet with a decidedly mixed crowd. I was with my two coworkers and two other friendly folks that would be our company for the night, or we thought. It's a relatively spacious venue for plenty of people to dance and get to know each other. The music was excellent for my partying sensibilities. They played K-pop multiple times which was surprising but not at all unwelcome. I love K-pop, and this will be one of the few places on the internet that I will admit that. They played a lot of dance-friendly music in general. They had a wonderful drag queen show in between the moments of dancing. Along with the interesting music was an even more interesting crowd. We encountered some white foreigners asking my friends for drugs. Meanwhile I lost track of my coworkers in the big venue as they were running around trying to meet new people. This place is excellent if you want to have fun with your friends on a weekend and not during a pandemic.

Easy to meet people as that is what everyone is here for. They are a bit annoying with the credit card service. They don't always take credit cards. Seems to be up to the servers discretion. I find this annoying as I don't always carry cash. Many times I have gone here and not spent a dime because they would not take my credit card. I'm ok with that because I am not a drinker anyway. But I can only assume they have lost a lot of sales over this. Hong Kong tends to be a cash preferred society. I admire them for that but I come from a plastic society. It was one of three gay bars we patronized in Hong Kong and unfortunately the most generic. That's not to say the bartender wasn't cordial. It was just that she took our order and promptly disappeared when it looked like we were the only customers for a while. We're not the gregarious type. It probably says something that I can't even remember the music that was playing. Trance, I think. The bartenders (I adore Rocky) make a strong drink and definitely do not skimp on the alcohol like they do at some of the other establishments here. Foam party is a joke with that poor setting, design and management. People's safety could actually at risk when there is a fire or any emergency given this tight, unfriendly and hard to evacuate environment. Avoid this WORST sauna in the world.
