Well, this is probably best termed as being a 'back alley bar' namely because it happens to be located in a back alley, or more specifically a back alley park. Yeah, this place is pretty cool, and quite laid back and relaxed, and is a pretty nice place to spend some time with a friend for a few drinks. Certainly worth checking out.

My time here was short, but in the one drink I had, I can tell you that this feels like a regular bar. The music was fine, the patrons minded their own business, and the bartenders were very straightforward. The only thing that reminded me that "Oh right, I'm in a gay bar" was what they showed on TV- it was some weird convention with a whole bunch of scantily-clad gay men, feeling each other and showing off their butts. I saw so many butts that night. Bring your friends here: gay, straight, trans, or otherwise. All are welcome here!

So are the gay bars. Although just a fifteen-minute walk from our hotel, the last block on Old Bailey Street was a bit of a climb. We started hearing Shania Twain, a far cry from the K-POP blaring everywhere else. When we saw the rainbow flag out front and the sea of brassieres hanging from the ceiling, we knew this must be the place. There were just three people at the bar and two behind it, both English speakers. Our particular barkeep was from Curaçao even though she sounded like a Texan. The vibe was casual and quite chill, and we were impressed by the manga menus. The name refers to the Native American tribe, not my dad's 1968 Pontiac Catalina. Wanting time to peruse the menu, we ordered our standby, a couple of HK$98 Espresso Martinis (photo; https://yelp.to/8pnmgyoiM6). Quite smooth with just a hush of sweetness that had us tapping our feet to classic Dolly Parton. We were ready to order their artisan signature cocktails for our second round. Jamie went for the HK$98 Killswitch, a particularly potent mix of tequila, Ribena Jamaica, lime, fenugreek tincture, and soda, it was a margarita with a third leg. I went more refined with the HK$98 London Calling, a clubby blend of Strawberry Pimm's, ruby port, petite verveine, basil, and soda (photo: https://yelp.to/8OhUsNESX4). It was one of three gay bars we patronized in Hong Kong and unfortunately the most generic. That's not to say the bartender wasn't cordial. It was just that she took our order and promptly disappeared when it looked like we were the only customers for a while. We're not the gregarious type. It probably says something that I can't even remember the music that was playing. Trance, I think. On the upside, cocktails were a reasonable HK98 (about US$12.50) and pretty potent between Jamie's Mai Tai and my Tequila Sunrise (photo: https://yelp.to/Ex_fgoCtbe). We liked the all-black sleekness of the decor, but we didn't get the sense that the momentum was picking up any time soon. Ah well, maybe on our next visit to Hong Kong. The bartenders (I adore Rocky) make a strong drink and definitely do not skimp on the alcohol like they do at some of the other establishments here. Go for the old fashions, bubbles, and any other cocktail you'd fancy from a large city. They do have a mix of music videos playing (from Top 40 to Canto Pop to K-pop) with Karaoke style videos on their screen. Huge shout out to the crew there. I was talking about how I was feeling peckish and they offered noodles and curry fish balls.

A nice place to relax with friends after work; also suitable for couples. There is a wide variety of Scotch, Japanese whisky and cocktails. They got Scotch like Scapa and Caol Ila which are not very commonly seen in bars in the area. The price is reasonable, most of them are of around HK$100 for a single shot. We arrived around 1030, after dinner in a restaurant nearby. It was our first visit and the experience is nice. We were served by a Japanese bartender who is friendly and helpful. We had some beer, whisky and cocktails: Suntory Premium Malt on tap, B+ Creamy and rich. Of course much fresher than the bottle / can one. Hong Kong Cooler, A-: A vodka based cocktail with some citrus, ginger ale and ... jasmine tea? A very refreshing drink. Scotch Manhattan, A (*caution: this grading is only suitable for Islay lovers. Forget it if you hate peaty stuff): The bartender recommended this when I told him I love Islay and wanted a strong cocktail. Basically Ardberg 10 with Vermouth. The peaty Ardberg and the sweet vermouth match perfectly. One of the best cocktails I have ever tried.

We obviously arrived much too early - 7:30PM. It was filled with older people just chilling after work. Drinks were cheaper at that time (before 9PM) - only 50 HK for a draft Guinness beer. We ordered some fries on the side and it came on a cute dim sum brown plate. The "fun" really begins after around 11PM. This is when people decide they want to dance on the bar and I guess it's accepted by the bartenders/owners/whatnot. Beware - guys start stripping off their shirts, girls try to jump onto the bars with heels (many failing and falling to their near deaths), and popping American styled music loud in the air. Like other reviewers have mentioned, be wary of your belongings here. Located in the Wan Chai district, it is filled with more locals and not quite as "safe" as the touristy clubbing district Lan Kwai Fong. A must for music lovers in Hong Kong…read more I was able to secure a same-day reservation by shooting them a quick email for my flight from Thailand to Hong Kong took off. By the time I landed, I received a confirmation from the venue as well as a few important details and instructions. At my request, they even sent the information via WhatsApp since I was having a hard time getting it via SMS. The venue was also really responsive on WhatsApp, answering all of my questions very quickly. The place was a little hard to find. My cab dropped me off nearby and a passerby was able to help me find the exact building. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. It's classy, sexy, shrouded in a bit of mystery... something like a speakeasy. The evening's performances were fantastic! The musicians played a range of hits that appealed to a broad audience (which was great because there was a little of everyone in the room that evening). The servers were attentive and kind, and their service had a personalized touch which I really appreciated, especially since I had just landed in the country barely 2 hours prior and didn't know a soul there. The staff really made me feel welcome and helped set the tone for the rest of my visit to Hong Kong. I saw lots of gorgeous cocktails adorning tables around me, but I was there for the prosecco. Glass after glass of ice cold bubbles... And the staff made sure I never had an empty glass. I had an absolutely wonderful time here. I highly recommend this place to any music lovers or cocktail enthusiasts that happen to find themselves in Hong Kong. You will not be disappointed.

Behind a phone booth in a bar that's in a hotel... coolness…read more This one gets initial points for the coolness of getting into a phone booth -- kids, this is what we used in the old days to make phone calls when we were away from home and wanted to talk to someone. There was no such thing as "texting." -- the process with the keypad and curtain/door entryway is nice and sets the stage. The interior of this bar is pretty small, as it should be, IMO. The bar is well stocked and they have a nice selection of drinks and food on the menu. Since we'd just come from a large banquet, we weren't in the mood for food, but this looked to be a place where you could get some good stuff to go with your drinks. I had a "Shark," which has butter-infused rum. After reading that, I *had* to try it. It had an interesting creaminess and a finish of browned butter. The drink was a bit on the sour side, but the creaminess almost balanced it out enough for me. It was a drink that I enjoyed, but would probably try something different next time. I tend to prefer more spirit-forward drinks that are less sour, but wanted something different since I'd just had that at the previous place. The decor is interesting here: a rabbit with a double-barreled shotgun? I'm not sure what that is about, but it gave us something to look at :) Our server was attentive and helpful and the drinks didn't seem to be more expensive than the drinks at the outer Mo Bar. I'm a fan of speakeasies, although, these days, it is hard to find many that are actually *quiet* ... I think that is a lost part of the whole concept, which is a shame since I think that part of the experience makes it even more of a contrast to the noise of your typical bar.

But looking past that, the experience inside PDT was fantastic - our server was very friendly and courteous :) I really enjoyed the Evening Star cocktail, the one with the starfruit!
