We were in Belgium on a work trip & decided to spend the day in Brugge. It was SO cold & rainy,…read morebut we were committed to playing "tourist".
Wanted an authentic "Belgian" restaurant & felt we got exactly that! From the moment we stepped into this almost gothic building we were immersed!
While the service isn't incredibly attentive (not much is in Europe) the flavors & freshness of the food far surpassed our expectations!
The cheese croquettes were perfectly fried & full of yummy melty cheese! There is a little green 'salad' on the side of the plate, which had such an incredible tasting dressing!
For lunch, I had the moules frites, in garlic cream sauce. What an incredible meal! The cream was not terribly creamy & the flavor of the mussels were to die for. The frites were hot & crispy, and more skinnier than Dutch frites typically are.
My colleague had a tuna salad, which had a generous portion of tuna and incredibly fresh lettuce and veggies.
Seems to get quite busy, so might be best to try to make a reservation, unless you choose to arrive early!
All in all, it was a great experience -and I would wholly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner!
