One of the times was when I went to the SE part of Yavapai County to an obscure area maybe near Stanton (a ghost town), which was 5 miles down a narrow dirt road with some steep cliffs. Yarnell sits at about 4700' elevation (slightly lower than the mile high city of Prescott) and Stanton is at least 1000' less. So, it was a steep drive down & back up the hill. It had to have been in May 2007...wow 11 years ago. It was sunny & hot that late Spring day...maybe 90 F at Stanton...probably in the low 80's in Yarnell. On the way back to Prescott, I stopped for lunch at the Yarnell Family Diner. I was hungry, and there weren't many choices in Yarnell, a town of only 649 in 2010 census. I remember the sandwich I had was quite good & filing. The staff was friendly.
