My car failed to start yesterday as I was preparing for work, and I later learned the battery was…read moredead. Given that Santa Fe Ford replaced the battery just three months ago in June, I returned to the dealership for assistance. Initially, staff insisted the service was not performed there. Since the dead battery in my car was from 2023, the manager said. The service manager, Katlyn Byrd, approached the situation defensively and unprofessionally, treating my account as untruthful. Once she located the original receipt confirming the battery replacement and my payment in June, she suggested I might have swapped the battery elsewhere to make a false warranty claim. Although I remained calm throughout the encounter, there was no acknowledgment of their mistake, no apology, and a clear lack of respect. While they eventually agreed to replace the battery at no charge, they asked me to sign paperwork framing the replacement under warranty. This raises serious concerns, as the battery paid for in June was evidently never installed. A management role requires proper conflict resolution and basic respect for customers. This experience highlights a concerning lack of accountability and standard service quality at this location. Also makes me wonder if they have been dishonest all these years.
