Our son cut the pavement, removed the decomposing roots, and compacted the area. The area is 135sq ft. Too large for bags of asphalt from the hardware store. We contacted Bill Dwyer and he sent over a truck, workers and the equipment to finish the job the same day we called. Bill also allowed us to bring the asphalt from our driveway to his site to be recycled at no cost to us. This is not our first job with Pilgrim Paving. Bill installed a new driveway at our previous home and repaired all of the drainage issues. We could not be happier with Bill and his team! Great company to work with.

I had previously scheduled a sealcoating job with another East Bridgewater company. However, they were a no show, no call on the TWO dates they told me they were coming out to do the job. I contacted Lawrence Sealcoating via their website on 7/13/15 for an estimate to sealcoat my driveway and minor crack repair after the aforementioned issues. They responded immediately advising that they would be by to provide an estimate. I e-mailed them again 4 days later to see if/when they were going to stop by to provide an estimate. As a result of my e-mail, they came out and provided an estimate. Although they were a little bit higher than the other company, I elected to go with Lawrence Sealcoating because I had heard good things and wanted to get the job done. I e-mailed Lawrence Sealcoating on 7/18/15 to advise them that we received the estimate and would like to move forward. I asked when they would be able to stop out to do the work. Today is August 10, 2015. It has been three weeks and I have not received a phone call, an e-mail, a letter or any other type of communication from Lawrence Sealcoating. Therefore, I am now going with another company. Their lack of communication/customer service is horrible. I would not recommend unless you are looking for a contractor with lack of communication, follow-up/follow through, etc. A few years ago during the recession, contractors would respond immediately, communicate well, appreciated the jobs/pay, etc. I guess that is all forgotten.

Everyone we encountered was kind and professional. That said, the billing was completely unacceptable. The final invoice came in at nearly double the original estimate, even though the project did not change in scope. There were no major additions, no unexpected issues, and no clear communication that costs were increasing along the way. Getting a bill that far off from the estimate without explanation feels misleading at best. An estimate should be reasonably close to the final cost--not off by such a huge margin with no warning. If there had been transparency or ongoing communication about pricing changes, this would be a very different review. Proceed with caution. The workmanship may be solid, but make sure you get everything in writing and demand clear, upfront communication about costs, because that was a major failure here.
