The menu changes daily and offers a wide variety of chicken (anything and everything from a mild honey mustard to the HOT HOT HOT Bomber's own recipe scotch bonnet/ghost chilli Perkbomb) and pork options, and occasionally lamb, falafel or home-made fish fingers. The sandwiches come as small boys (a small soft or crusty roll) or big boys (a bap the size of your face!); alternatively they offer salad boxes or jacket potatoes if you don't quite fancy a sandwich. If you'd prefer something light, there's almost always a fantastic soup (I had carrot and coriander today), but if you're feeling famished I dare you to take on the atomic bomb which is a combination of any three meats and all the salad you like! Its location means that it's perfect for those working in Cardiff city centre (or the Bay) as well as those indulging in a bit of shopping, although I regularly travel out of my way to treat myself to a cheeky sandwich. If you've got time on your hands, I'd also suggest taking a seat and having some tea or coffee and a slice of cake. Having recently been awarded 5 out of 5 on the Food Hygiene Rating, it is safe to say that Bomber's cannot be beaten on quality, cleanliness or service; as well as doing a fantastic job of supporting local businesses by sourcing local produce.

FINALLY managed to make it to New York Deli after living in Cardiff for years. I'm an American and…read morealways had it in the back of my mind that I needed to visit a little slice of America in Cardiff. I had the "New York". Unfortunately, when I went they ran out of hoagies so I had to get it in a bagel but it was packed to the BRIM. Although when you look at the prices you might grimace at it seeming expensive, because of the generous portions the prices are well worth it. This is more than just a simple sandwich people!!! 4 stars because the bagel itself was just alright but the fillings were delicious. However, I do have it in my mind that I have to come back and try some of their hoagies. Don't skip over this place! Overstuffing your face is what the good ol' USA is all about!

Yet I'm pretty sure that when faced with the deli delights, like myself - you would struggle and ask for a takeaway. TIP: Try and get your hands on a menu prior to visiting as when faced with all the options and ingredients you're likely to panic pick! Rookie's Guide: Choose your bread, Choose your spread, Choose your fillings, Choose your Salad! On my last visit I had the Reuben: Salt Beef, Swiss Cheese, Coleslaw with the addition of Jalapenos - £3.90. *please take moment to appreciate the magnitude of the meat to bread ratio* Delicious yet ridiculously filling - The New York Deli is open 7 days a week. They slice ALL their meats and cheese daily, support local charities AND use local suppliers for just about everything. They even deliver if you order before 10am!

At lunchtime queues can snake out of the door. This place has very fast service, with a good amount of staff who are able to cope with the workload during busy spells well. They also have a good range of sandwich fillings, although these become more and more limited as the day wears on into early afternoon. The prices here are very good; a salad box stuffed to the brim with you choice of goodies will set you back only £2.50, while sandwiches start from £1.70 and baguettes are not too much more. If sandwiches and a fast lunch are what you're after, this is a place that will see you well.

It's sat on the busy traffic lights and crossroads of Cathedral Road and Cowbridge Road East, so it's within walking distance of a lot of business people needing lunchtime snacks. What's good about Posh Nosh, once you've got past the hideous name, is that both the food and the prices are good. You can get sandwiches made up with your choice of fillings from less than £2, or you can get a healthy salad box for just a couple (or perhaps a few) pounds. The staff are also very fast and efficient, so you don't have to wait around for too long usually, although queues can get quite hefty around peak lunchtime periods.

This is probably my favourite bar in Cardiff bay…read more One of the reasons for this is because most people do not regard it as a bar (more a coffee shop) and it is therefore never over run unlike the bars over the other side of the bay like Salt and Terra Nova. Sitting inside is very pleasant as are the staff, especially the manager, who I think i called Hugo but to me its big selling point is its outside area. It over looks the oval basin and faces the sun. I have spent many a summer day having a few cheeky ones chatting away whilst the sun goes into the bay. So if this isn't your bag - stay away (that way there is more room for the rest of us who do).

Of course I chose the veggie options which included Garlic Mushrooms, Mediterranean vegetables and feta in oil and a good stack of pitta. It was yummy, not exactly mind blowing but really tasty. What does make this place unique is the fantastic view over the bay, so essentially that's what your paying for with your £7 glass of champagne and limited tapas menu. It was worth a visit but it's not the kind of place I'd go regularly.
