I was completely lost trying to find my way back to the center of town after the Munch Museum when I came across Tøyen square. The area itself is adorable and not crowded with tourists which is what drew me to the area. It also has free public wifi - no Facebook sign in required. The cafe was not overly crowded and had a very laid back vibe. Even though it's not in a touristy area, the employees all spoke perfect English. I ordered the pesto and ham sandwich and was surprised at how good it was! Most of the sandwiches at cafes in Oslo taste like they have been sitting out for hours. The bread was still soft and moist, the veggies were crunchy, and the pesto tasted home made. Before leaving, I saw the employees making more sandwiches in the back, so they really are fresh! Overall, I'm surprised this cafe hasn't gotten better reviews because it is by far one of the best I have been to in my four weeks in Oslo. read more
