the interior is decorated beautifully and u can tell they put a lot of thought into the details. the silverware and plates were really nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our meal however, the food was p underwhelming. the dishes were toned down quite a bit, like they were catering toward western palates. we didnt get any of the heat or aromatics like peppercorn, chili, and garlic out of the 10 dishes we tried, the dry pot cauliflower, grandmas tofu fish, and braised pork elbow were our favs. everything else was kinda boring, but not terrible either that being said, theyre still in their soft opening, so im hoping the flavors get more developed and authentic as they settle in. this place has potential, but the food needs some work

Had dinner at Szechwan Bistro in Sugarland and it did not disappoint. We came in hungry and left happy and stuffed. The shrimp fried rice was a solid dish but, Grandma's fish tofu was spectacular, honestly one of the best things we ordered. Soup dumplings were fresh and tasty, and the dumplings in chili oil seemed handmade and quite a bit better than any I've had previously. General's chicken was good, but with everything else on the menu seemingly blowing it away, I'd probably skip it next time. Prices were about average for the area, so no complaints there. The restaurant itself is clean with a nice cozy vibe, dark natural colors, and the staff was friendly. Dishes were gorgeous too, all served on stoneware. Would definitely go back!

I loved all the dishes I ordered! I've had their spicy dishes and they were so good! What makes this place even better is that they can make the spicy dishes non-spicy which is a great option for my kids! The non-spicy dishes taste very good as well! I am so glad they are located in the sugar land area and I am definitely going to be a returning customer!

I'm not the biggest fan of the numbing pepper but there wasn't a lot, just to give it some flavor so I enjoyed everything. The cumin lamb was yummy and I really liked the fish. The lotus root was crunchy and the water spinach was the usual sauted with garlic. The garlic bacon was fun to eat and I really liked the sauce. Service was great as well. Very quick to get the food out and my server was very nice when I asked questions about different items. Ambiance - 8/10 It's definitely an older restaurant. It gives me like 90s Chinese restaurant vibes if that makes any sense. I'm coming back either way. Gotta try other things.

The food came out quickly and everything we tried was delicious. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. It was extremely busy and it seemed like there were only two servers handling the entire floor. If you didn't ask for what you needed when they initially came by, it was very difficult to get anyone's attention afterward. We had quite a bit of leftovers and couldn't get anyone to come over for to-go boxes or the check I ended up having to go to the front to ask. Overall, great food and a good experience, but they definitely need more staff if it's consistently this busy.

The staff looked very presentable and were attentive, yet also gave us space to look over the menu and eat. Speaking of the menu, I really enjoyed checking items off of a paper menu, it felt very old-school. I was there with my parents, and we decided to get a couple entrees to split family-style. We got ban ban noodles, yibin noodles, pork and crab dumplings, a breadier kind of dumpling which I think had pork in it, a scallion pancake, a beef pancake roll, and chrysanthemum tea. All were delicious, no complaints. My favorites were definitely the bready meat dumpling, it just melted in your mouth, and the yibin noodles. I also really enjoyed the chrysanthemum tea; they delivered a big pot and several cups, and there was enough in the pot to fill each of our cups three or four times. The prices of all were not too bad, too. I will definitely be back, hopefully soon. Just a really comfortable place with great food and good service.

I think the large window plus summer sun made for a greenhouse effect. There are many vegetarian options but I thought the overall flavor for the food was just average. Service was also slow and we had to call wait staff ourselves to ask for the check, water, etc. -Dan Dan noodle - because of the peppercorn leaves a tingling taste on your tongue similar to mapo tofu -Vegetarian spicy ma la noodle - also left a similar tingling taste. Although it was rated as a spicy dish I thought spice level was on the mild end. -Vegetarian dumplings - flavor was just average for this as well. It tasted a little bland to me -Sweet and sour cucumbers - overall liked the flavors although it is a very strong sweet and sour flavor. The cucumbers were cut into a unique shape.

We met up with some friends who are vegetarians and come here a lot. They recommended so many dishes that we didn't need any meat for our evening meal. We ordered sweet and sour veggies, Alings vegetable fried rice, and garlic veggies (that were spicy). If you like spice and garlic, you'd like that one. We also ordered some veggie noodles. The portion sizes are very large, so it was enough to share for four grown people and still have enough to take some home. And the food does not lack flavor! Everything tasted great. And for appetizers we ordered corn soup, hot and spicy soup, and steamed dumplings. The service was great, friendly and efficient. The food does not take long to come out. If you have a large party, this is a great place to go, or for a party of one or two, they have small tables to accommodate as well. There's a full bar, so you can dine at the bar while enjoying a couple of drinks. It's a fusion restaurant between Chinese and Indian. It's a great combination if you like either one.
