    Handprint covered guard
    Amanda F.

We arrived on a Sunday around 1140 for a noon showing. The theater opens at noon and we were the only customers there. I used the restroom and was surprised by the state of it considering they had just opened 10 minutes prior. There was toilet paper all over the floor and the sinks looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The theater in all is pretty dirty and also looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a while. There were parts of the movie on the bottom of the screen that were hard to see through all the handprints on the guard. The concessions are great though, their popcorn always tastes nice and fresh and their staff is always friendly. Just needs a good cleaning.

    Sat down in this.

I'd give a -1 if I could. Theater seating very dirty, trash, popcorn, beverages left in the seats. Obviously not cleaned between shows. Never coming back and I don't recommend to anyone m, maybe the 1st show of the day, maybe.

The seats are great, the theaters are great, the popcorn is the best in the area. This is our favorite theater by far.

Cute local theatre that has four screening rooms with a lot more seating than I expected (probably…read more250ish seats in the screening room I was in). Don't expect recliner chairs -- this is an old (and classic) theater, so amenities are limited, and the chairs are only moderately comfortable. Prices are cheap for movies, so it's a great family spot, though don't expect them to have the most-recent releases, as all of the films are 3-ish months past the original release date. Tickets were $5/person for evenings, $4/person for matinees, and $1/person on Monday nights. Concessions are available for a fair price -- not cheap, but not as expensive as major theaters. It seems like you have to buy tickets in person at the theater, so if you are trying to go on a Friday or Saturday evening, it's worth getting there 15-20 minutes before your showtime in case there's a big line. But a great local option to support that's perfect for a family night, date night, or cheap solo night to watch a favorite flick again on the big screen!

This place is a historical landmark in kaysville. Seats are low and not the most comfortable. It's ok because patrons show up with blankets and in their pjs. Very casual. Good location, right on main street.

As a seasoned Sundance Film Festival alum, the Prospector Square theater is always my favorite…read morevenue at the festival. Why? The seats are old movie seats so they are comfortable, they are arranged in tiers so you have a clear view of the screen, the screen is an adequate size, the projection and sound is clear, the ticket holder and waitlist lines are indoors and out of the cold, and there's a snack bar in the lobby. Even better, there's a free shuttle bus stop directly outside the door and the terrific Grub Steak restaurant across the street. Clean, large restrooms too. What's not to love?

Wow! I'm really doing it! I'm Sundancing, gang. Full disclosure, I've been so happy recently I'm…read morebeginning to fear for my Yelp integrity (wink/wink). Everywhere I walk I've got FIVE STARS on the brain. Night two of "high culture" at the festival is in the books & I gotta say I feel about 10lbs smarter already. Prospector Square is far more intimate than Eccles Theatre so the lines aren't nearly as long & you don't have to stand in the cold. They also offer concessions while you wait and you can bring your goodies into the show! Eccles seats a little over 1300 people & is JAM PACKED for each showing. Prospector Square seats about 360 movie fans. My guess is if your film plays at Prospector Square during Sundance, it's like making the JV squad in high school. Coach Redford gives you a pat on the butt and says - "You're getting there little buddy. Now go home, practice dribbling with your left hand and come back when you're four inches taller." I didn't really know what to expect sitting down for this film. The Hollywood businessman who brought me to Sundance told me that "all of these films are kind of the same." I hate to say it but he was wrong! While this film was ALSO very slow, methodically paced & dramatic, the miserable situation was COMPLETELY different. This film dealt with a bastard fisherman who suffered from severe muscular dystrophy and lived with his poverty stricken mother who forbid him from spending time with his childhood love. AND it was in Spanish! Talk about ART! I think most of the foreign films play at this theater (JV). There's something about subtitles that just thrusts the misery of a situation right out into the audience. It's tricky watching subtitles, though. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to being paying attention to the faces the actors are making or the little text that's shooting across the screen. Sometimes I get confused & start making my own faces while reading the dialogue. No matter how I handle it I know I'm smarter for trying. They had a Q&A w cast and crew but I didn't stick around. I was exhausted from reading. Hola Amigo! You'll get 'em next year. So much culture. Prospector Square gets FIVE STARS!!

We questioned why there were so few seats for the lower price of $10 and she rudely told us if we wanted to argue we could just leave. She was very unprofessional and stated that she would kick us out if we weren't in the exact seat we purchased. This theater won't last long with this kind of employee. There were approximately 10 people in the entire theater for the show we saw. We will not be back and will tell everyone we know about how rude these people are.

As we entered the manager demanded to search my son because she thought he might have hidden snacks. I was completely taken aback because no where did it say when I bought the tickets or when we entered the venue that management would be conducting searches on patrons as they entered. In fact, without a clearly communicated policy about searching patrons while they enter you legally cannot conduct such a search and any attempt to could constitute a violation of a persons privacy. Now let's ask did this manager search through the purses of the ladies that entered before us or did she ask to search their daughters? Nope, the creepy lady just wanted to search my son. I'm not sure if she wanted to frisk him or what but no way in heck was I going to let some strange creepy lady feel up my minor child because we wanted to watch a movie, ewe! I'm considering legal action because this is a violation of my son's right to privacy and harassing a child at a movie theatre is disgusting. Just ewe... don't go here.
