10 years ago, following thorough research, we selected SYNLawn to replace our backyard grass to provide a better environment outside and inside our home by aiding in keeping our pets clean. Through the years we have had the ~ 1000+ square feet refreshed maybe twice. Everyone who has ever visited our home raves over the wow factor the evergreen carpet grass adds to our patio, pool, and gardens. Recently, ATT subcontractors caused the carpet and its crushed granite base to need refurbishing and essentially what amounted to a re-install. I called SYNLawn and spoke with Angela Herald their Project Administrator who could not have been more helpful, professional, and patient with me. She arranged for Ryan, the Project Team Supervisor, to come and appraise the work in order to assess the workload. Ryan and I walked over every inch of what needed to be done. It looked like it might be 3 to 4 weeks before they could fit my size project into their schedule however, true to her word, Angela called me with an opportunity to have a 4-man crew come to do the job the next morning. I agreed and Ryan came with his crew, lined them out, and the four-man team set about their task. 5 hours later, one would be hard-pressed to think that this was not a brand-new carpet! Every aspect and detail has been professionally dealt with by these craftsmen. Thank you! We are very pleased with SYNLawn of Houston and its drive to ensure client satisfaction. Well done. I had really hoped to avoid writing this review but I have lost my patience with this company.  We hired them to add some artificial turf to our backyard.  We already had a putting green with artificial turf installed by a different company so figured this would be an easier addition. The initial crew that was sent out didn't seem to have much experience and despite having our irrigation guy change the irrigation before they came out (to avoid messing it up) they still cut multiple lines and managed to cut lines to our lighting system. They also placed artificial turf over valves that I had to have access to. Our irrigation had to be complete redone which synlawn agreed to subtract from the cost of our lawn and sent out a completely different crew to fix the others mistakes.  Even with the huge hassle I was willing to let it go since they fixed the issue.  However, we started to notice that the turf would get scalding hot (not an issue we had with previous turf) and then started to notice that it seemed to be melting. I called the company and they said that this can happen from window glares and that this is common.  No one mentioned this to us previously.  Since we had some leftover turf they agreed to come fix it at a low cost IF we got those windows tinted.  We decided that we didn't really have another choice so we paid another company to tint the windows and set up for them to come fix it.  I came home to find that they laid the new pieces the opposite direction of the original turf so it looks like a patchwork quilt and also did not get the whole melted area.  I have contacted them again to see how to resolve this issue once again.  This process has been more than frustrating and I feel like we should have been notified about the window being able to melt and the fact that this premium turf would get so hot. After talking to neighbors who used a different company they were told all these things beforehand.  It is for a these reasons that despite whether or not this is resolved I cannot in good faith ever recommend this company. read more

We needed to add a small patch of synthetic turf adjacent to an existing area we had installed a few years ago. Even though they caveated the two areas might not match due to different color lots and one having been exposed to sun for 3 years, no one can tell the difference or see the abutting seam. Asked to get a quote on a putting green and backyard and had an appointment. Emailed and asked to see if it was possible to reschedule to the following day. Never heard back from Synlawn so I assumed that I still had the original appointment and left work early to make the appointment. Sales person never showed. Call Synlawn and they said I had requested to reschedule and the earliest I could reschedule would be the following week. I will find someone else. If their customer service is this bad when they are trying to sell you something; I certainly don't want to see it once I have committed to them. read more

My experience with SYNLawn was exceptional! I communicated with JD to schedule a visit from them for a free quote. He was punctual in coming out to my house and brought samples of some of their residential products for me to review. During that meeting JD also took measurements of our yard, discussed the general installation process, asked about treatments around the edges of the work area as well as how we could accommodate trees and drain grates. After our on-site meeting JD emailed me with the official quote and additional literature on the product for me to review. All of the information was laid out very well. I had a couple concerns that I emailed JD about to clarify, including negotiating the proposed quoted price. JD was very timely in his responses and answered my concerns in a professional manner. The lifetime warranty on the product put my mind at ease. The product we ended up selecting is very soft under foot, appears like a full, lush grass lawn, and is heat and odor resistant. Once I sent the signed paperwork back to him he was able to get a crew lined up for the job within three calendar days. The crew showed up promptly and completed our backyard in two days (maybe a little less since our yard is small - approximately 160 square feet of turf.) After the crew completed the work JD returned to give a final look-over and make sure that all of my concerns were addressed. There were no concerns at that point from me. He and the SYNLawn crew worked diligently and listened to the requests that I made for any adjustment. They left our backyard looking clean and even better than when they found it. My dog and 1-year old son love playing outside on this turf and I can rest easy knowing that it is safe for them (and no grass or dirt stains!) A very positive experience from first meeting to final day of installation. I would recommend contacting them if you are in the market for synthetic grass and never be afraid to ask them questions. I cannot say enough great things about working with SynLawn! We did so much research and got quotes from about 7 different companies. By far, this was our best experience and we could not be happier with the decision to move forward with SynLawn. From start to finish, this was a better experience than I could have imagined. Starting with JD who came out to scope out the work and provide an estimate, he was incredibly creative and helpful with coming up with a solution within my budget. He was very transparent about the pros and cons of different levels of turf with us having a dog, a lot of surrounding window reflection, etc. Next, Ivonne, the project coordinator was fantastic. She was very responsive, gave me all of the information I needed before the team came, and she was helpful all along the way. Once the crew came, I was in awe of how well they worked and how detailed of a job they did! Jorge's team was so efficient while not sacrificing quality one bit. Seriously, this crew knew what they were doing and they were so pleasant and friendly to work with - thank you, Jorge, Osmin, and Vicente! They were open to making paver layout decisions along the way and gave recommendations on what they thought would be best. Did not choose Synlawn due to cost so this is just a review for their estimate process. For us we had apporx. 1350 total sq. footage of yard. Within that area we carved out a 350 sq. foot putting green. The SYNlawn estimate was $22K. The process was fantastic and quick. For my project they were about 50% higher than my other 5 bids ($14K - $16K). That said they have a quality product and installation process. They do have great products and installation. Communication was not great although I did state they were the least likely to win our project. From their point of view I was probably not worth the time. Not sure what we would have done if they had answered some simple questions about turf quality, installation timeline and potential changes to our layout. I can say we seriously considered them due to quality but the lack of communication combined with the cost caused us to drop them. Again, they do have great turf, but is it worth the price? I cannot say. read more

We just completed the installation of SynLawn for our back yard, and we are thrilled! The whole area just looks great! As another posted noted, why oh why didn't we do this earlier??? We feel like we have a whole new backyard! We were very pleased with the company as well: 1) The sales rep was knowledgeable and keep on top of the project throughout. 2) The crew was amazing. Very hard workers. Very respectful of our property. They made sure to leave the work area clean and tidy each evening. Very dedicated to doing a quality installation. 3) They encountered several issues with my existing drains. They certainly could have charged me extra to fix the problems, since those issues could not have been identified until the work began. However, they honored the original price they quoted me. I could not be happier with the final product that SynLawn installed for us. Justin, the sales rep, took the time to make sure that the install went as smoothly as possible. Whenever there was a hiccup, he was there to take care of it in a timely manner. The guys who came to do the actual work were very professional and respectful. We needed a few extra things taken care of when they were done, and they handled it quickly and did a great job. Overall, the quality of the turf and the install looks amazing. Tucked away just outside Cypress proper, this place is friendly and if you want small pieces of turf, they have masses of off cuts out back for $1 per sq ft as opposed to buying new for $4.90+. Sadly, off cuts only represented about 3 of their very wide variety of artificial grasses. Full price rolls are 15ft wide and as long as you like. They sell bender board, installation nails and filter but if you don't want to DIY, you can pay $2000 to have them install your grass. A 4 man crew will install it rapidly. Cheaper buying at Home Depot but the grass quality is far higher here. Was a good opportunity to stand on the grass, touch it and see large examples laid out for you. They do t try to sell you things that you don't need, thankfully. . Quite pleased with the experience. read more

The installation process was a nightmare! I was originally told by Kevin, the salesman who sold me the product, that they couldn't give me an actual installation date until after I made my deposit which is half the total amount (In this case $1500). After making my deposit about a week later I was told that my Synlawn would not be installed until the middle of September but if something came up they would contact me. A week later I was emailed by Kevin and told that they would be installing the Synlawn September 5th. Given that this was labor day weekend I assumed they were squeezing us in over the holiday weekend so we cancelled our trip to be here for the installation. On September 5th I sat around waiting for them to arrive and no one showed. Annoyed, I contacted Kevin to find out where the installation people were and to inquire what time they would be arriving. I received and email, not even professional enough to provide a personal phone call, that they were not coming and he thought he had contacted me. No contact was made to tell us they weren't coming! No email, no phone call, no text message otherwise we wouldn't have cancelled our trip! I was then told they were installing on Sept 13th. The guys were late arriving and only did half the job and we were told they were returning the next day to complete the job. Meanwhile they left the Synlawn rolled up on our driveway blocking the whole driveway thereby preventing us from pulling our car out of the garage. I though no big deal because they will be back tomorrow. On Sept 14th I got a text reading that they would not be able to work that day because the ground was too wet (meanwhile the Synlawn is still rolled up in the driveway blocking the garage). On Sept 15th I get another text message (notice no phone calls only texts) that they weren't able to install and would have to wait another day. On September 16th I get a text message stating that Kevin only had a hand full of guys come in today and a few of them were sick. He wanted to send them out but he didn't have enough guys, however he would send people out to install on Sept 17th. On Sept 17th by 10:30 no one had shown up so I contacted Kevin to ask if the people were actually going to show up or not. He only replied "They will be there today". I said "WHEN?" He replied with "11". The guys showed up about 11:30 started to install, worked for 20 minutes then (you're not going to believe this) took over an hour lunch while sitting on our front lawn). The installation continued then we were told at 3:38 they were leaving and the foreman said he would be back on Monday. I flipped out!!! I contacted Kevin and told him his workers were leaving. He replied back they shouldn't have left. Finally the foreman comes back and said he would finish the job alone after he took the workers back to the shop. Long story short the installation took for ever, the Synlawn doesn't really absorb pet odor like they claimed it would, and I would recommend sod over this product any day! read more

Terrible experience. Very poor communication and totally overpriced. Our initial sales rep Fernanda did not pay attention to the details of our project, and when we were shocked at how high the quote was, the only solution given was to do less work for us (which does not solve the problem). We went with Wakasa and got MORE work done for HALF the price, and they had fantastic communication and attention to detail. Randomly, a month later, I get a call from Kevin at SynLawn asking for our gate code so that the work could get started?? I told him I hadn't heard anything from SynLawn in over a month, and that we had decided to go with another company. 2 hours later, 3 men show up at our house trying to get into our backyard (terrifying our nanny with two kids). Apparently Kevin "got sidetracked" and didn't tell the crew not to show up to our house. Common themes: poor communication, too expensive, and not professional. read more

We have two dogs. They love to play. You know what that means to a normal size yard. Disastrous! A mud pit in no time. So, trying to figure out what options we had I considered everything. Except giving our babies away. That was not an option. After a lot of research, making some calls, googling until there was nothing left to consider we decided to extend our patio, do some landscaping around our fence line to keep the dogs from being nosey and barking at our neighbors. Then the most important part, having Symlawn cover the remainder with their recommended turf that is used specifically for pets and playgrounds. I contacted Symlawn and had an appointment that afternoon to show them the plan and get a quote. No, it's not cheap, and if you are looking for cheap, you probably aren't going to fix the problem long term either. If you want to have a GORGEOUS yard, nearly maintenance free, that you're dogs can be dogs and not damage anything then Symlawn is my recommendation. They were professional, on time, very polite always, worked hard, explained things along the way (I was curious) and in 4 days turned a completely embarrassing yard into a yard I would show anyone anytime.
