So, I'm gonna get my feelings out here. I'm not even sure if I've ever actually worked for Synergy; I've worked for many different staffing agencies over the years. I'd accepted a temp offer in early March of 2024 from Synergy, but then did get a temp-to-hire offer from another agency one week later; that agency's client needed someone that could start the next day - no interviews or rounds of interviews to go thru - and I needed something permanent so I accepted, and did have to let Synergy know. But the Synergy recruiter that I'd dealt with, Jack Dobronz, did call me at least twice after I'd taken this other job, for other positions, as I'd made it known to recruiters that I was still looking for a better-paying opportunity. One of those times was for a client that also needed someone to start the very next day, with a really nice hourly rate, but I of course didn't want to do that to the company I was working at - so to my dismay, as much as I needed that income, I declined. I wish I had accepted it. But my real issue is: response - or should I say, lack thereof. I don't know what it is. I know we're in a very different time than a few decades ago, but it seems that common courtesy has also gone out of style. In October of 2024, Jack called me with an opportunity and asked if I'd want submitted, and to get him my latest resume. When I got home later that evening, I did just that, in an email. I have never heard from Jack since. Not a word - and he is the one that called ME. About a POSITION. I never heard another word from him. I tried calling him; he answered and said he had a meeting in 5 and would call me back - never did. I called another time; left voicemail, never heard back. Sent another email venting my frustration, no response. At one point, I called the office and asked to speak with the owner, in order to vent my frustration and bewilderment. After leaving this message with the receptionist, I never in a million years expected to actually hear back from the company president - but to my very pleasant surprise, I did. He was great to talk with, and very respectfully listened to my concerns. He told me that he'd spoken with Jack and that Jack basically said he'd just gotten busy and hadn't been able to get back to me, and that the position Jack had spoken with me about was one that really didn't align with my experience. That's a given; everything you apply or even interview for does not mean you'll get the offer. My problem is, that even after speaking with the company president, Jack has still NEVER returned a call to me or responded to my emails. What exactly is the issue???? Is there something on my resume that spooked him?? He'd already seen my resume, except the one I'd sent him then, had the position I was working now added to it. Does that mean, he KNEW someone from that place and now felt funny? What is the deal? The owner asked me if I wanted to still work with Synergy but maybe just with someone else, and I don't specifically remember now, but I know I said I was still willing to work with the agency - I just don't remember whether I said I still wanted to work w/Jack or someone else. I have since spoken with another recruiter there, but haven't been called about anything yet; they normally have IT jobs and not so much admin, but they do occasionally get admin positions; that's why Jack would call me. But it really angers and frustrates me that you suddenly get 'ghosted' by recruiters. In all this time, never hearing back, and not having a clue why, is just wrong. And being 'busy' is a GIVEN. We are ALL busy, all the time. It's completely unacceptable for a recruiter to just ignore you, and figure that's enough to make you go away. If there is a REASON that you no longer want to work with a possible candidate, have the professional courtesy and DECENCY to at least let them know that. Afford them the dignity of a conversation and/or explanation. read more
