Dropped in based on 5 star reviews looking for a sub sandwich based on the name of the place -…read moreordered a super sub on white which the owner says is what they usually make it on. We're envisioning a standard sub roll / like you would get at any of the sub shops across America - ordered to go and when we got in car to take off and opened the container we see a basic square sandwich - like from a loaf of bread. Super disappointed after waiting 15 mins for it to be made. Can't say it wasn't good but with all the ingredients packed in a standard sandwich - it was hard to eat on the road with stuff spilling out. Tip: Just clarify you want a submarine roll when ordering the Super Sub as apparently it's not an automatic assumption here.

This rural remote restaurant was a welcome sight when headed to Ft Worth but you won't get there…read moreuntil your only choices are Whataburger and Waffle House. Good basic food including burgers and steaks. Steak was prepared exactly as ordered and was well seasoned. I didn't even need to use sauce on it. Service was exemplary. As a non-regular I was welcomed with handshakes and conversation with the cook and the owner. The rest of the patrons were all regulars, it seemed, and all were outfitted in camo gear The surrounding town looks largely abandoned but the atmosphere inside the restaurant is warm and inviting. There are about a half dozen tables inside and a porch seating area beyond that, though on the night I visited temperatures rendered the porch moot.

Decided to give this place a try for breakfast to see if their 5-star reviews were legit. I hate…read moreto be the spoiler, but I have to go by what I experienced. I ordered a menudo and my wife ordered a breakfast burrito. I called in the order and was quoted a 5 minute ready time - great! When I pulled up to the drive-thru, I was greeted and gave my name. My order was in fact ready in 5 minutes! Now for the food. My wife's breakfast burrito was egg, potato, bacon & cheese. Her bacon was almost non-existent. Otherwise, it was an ok size (about average), and their salsa was good. She enjoyed it. My menudo was good, but had a little more tripe than I like, and it was TOO spicy. It came with 3 flour tortillas, and a zip lock bag with cilantro, onion & chopped jalapeños, but no lime or lemon wedge. At one point, it was so spicy that I got choked up when a piece of tripe went down wrong, and I almost couldn't breathe for a few seconds. Otherwise it was decent. I think I would try this restaurant again, but I will try something else. My wife was in agreement,
